I hope the big one of the set is a less used mold

Aren't the characters already announced?
"Wings of Honor Convention Set: A five-figure boxed set which includes
Kup, Thunderclash, Landshark, Flak, and Scourge, all presented in an
illustrated display box." -09 botcon brochure
or you guys thinking these might be bonus figs? If this is part of the set, Id say it's Thunderclash and Flak.
Seibermore wrote:Sweet! Their guns can combine, there cool colors, and just cool. So to get these guys I just have to well go to Botcon right? This is my first and I just got back into collecting.
no you don't have to go. If they aren't sold out yet you can order a set from botcon's site. Go there and fill out the registration form to place your order, then fax it in.

I love the dark copper and bluish green combination. I wonder why Hasbro discontinued the idea of packing energon Weapons with the toys, they were really cool and had lots of play value.

These are going to be some of the bonus souvenir sets that are purchasable at Botcon, or one of them will be the free souvenir figure.

Can't do that for the souvenir sets or the free attendee figures. BBTS or ebay will be the only alternatives I'm afraid.

Jet versions of Roadbuster and Kup =P
if none of these are the free bonus figs, how much do they usually sell the souvenir sets for? This is my first time going so I see now that there is the main convention set, a free bonus fig, and this is the first time knowing that there are other figs exclusive to this event, and these are usually referred to as souvenir sets? Is there usually only 1 souvenir set?
or is the "bonus figure" considered the same as a "souvenir"?

Nope. Not alone. Still underwhelmed with this year's offerings. I'm sure they'll be must-buys for someone, though.

By getting the Primus package, you get a bonus figure for going. One of these figures might be for that.

That's for the boxed set, which is can be purchased in the Iacon package if your not able to attend. To get the bonus figure I'm seeing in the brochure, you kinda need ta go. This bonus figure is part of of the Primus package, and you need to be there to pick it up.

There should be around 10 figures in total, the 5 piece boxed set, the bonus attendee figure for Primus package attendees and 2 souvenir sets. These are usually 2 figure sets supplied bagged with instructions and profile cards but no boxes and are only available at the convention. Aside from leaks like this the souvenir figures arn't announced ahead of the con. If you're planning to take both sets home with you put aside around $200 on top of your other spends.

The Energon weapons only came with scout (aka basic) class toys in the Transformers: Energon toy line. Starscream's weapons were always sold with the toy. It was toys like Ravage, Cruellock, Drillbit, Skyblast, Arcee, Strongarm and the others and repaints that had the weapon the Deluxe, Voyagers, Leaders, and the other toys could hold. My biggest gripe with that was the fact that most of the weapons didn't work well with bigger toys (there were exceptions of course most notable with Megatron/Galvatron being able to hold Cruellock's sword) but for the most it was probably dropped because it was hard to design and this also meant people would have buy two Transformers to get that feature to work. Also remember that Transformers: Energon had poor distribution in some areas and that didn't help matters.
BOT: I like the Botcon exclusives.

That's not exactly accurate. Deluxe figures such as Downshift, towline, Hot Shot and Starscream, also came with Energon Weapons. Larger figures like Optimus Prime, and Megatron also had weapons of their own.
The scout or basic classed figures had in addition to the weapons Energon Chips or stars these were not present in any other figure except the scout sized ones. They where used in the show to power up the larger robots.

No, I'm with you. I am not very impressed with any of these figures.
