For those curious about the soon to be released Earthspark deluxe Megatron, there is now a review up. Here we can get a good idea of the scale, with comparisons to Cyberverse deluxe Megatron and Shockwave (who will be rereleased in this line) and it also shows us the figure from the back and the alt mode at several angles. We see how the canon attaches to the helicopter in alt mode too, completing the look.

Here is the review form PrimevsPrime along with some screenshots.

As a fan of the Megatron character, I gotta say I'm not impressed by the Earthspark offerings so far. I didn't really need the video review to conclude that the figures look cheap.

"But they're made for KIDS - ya gotta unnerstand!"

Yeah, I get that. But I've seen other kids toys that look a hekkuvva lot better than these. And poor Megatron - that face looks all gormless and simpering. A far fall for the leader of the Decepticons. Small, hollow, flimsy - all perfectly cruel and perfectly accurate descriptions. I skipped out on pretty much the entire Cyberverse line because the figures looked too child-like for my taste. But at least they had some that appear to have been decently engineered, and they seemed to give proper respect to Megatron. But I see little evidence of that so far for Earthspark. I hope the kids like 'em - but I sure don't.

Finally, a sane man! Everyone keeps telling me I expect too much from kids toys. But I just hate the prospect of ripping of kids, they don't know what's good or what's crap. There are some good kids transformers toys, but sometimes they are hard to see in a sea of cyberverse one steps shockwaves.

I don't like the vehemence that he comes across with his complaints, never have. And every figure does not need to be an engineering Marvel. Complaining about a figure that has Ankle Tilts, and enough range for most normal humanoid poses because it doesn't tip far enough for your liking is bizarre. And complaining about its plane mode whilst you have it balanced on a flight stand by his Accessory and not a structural part of the figure seems counterintuitive. There aren't many figures I would trust would be supported by an attached piece like that.

But he raises some fair points this does feel overly simple for the price point. Maybe thT is a trade off for other figures in the wave, but given that one is a Retool and the other a redeco that seems unlikely.

Same old excuses. Lack of ankle tilts and wrists swivels can be lived without. But megatron is the SAME PRICE as a deluxe figure, so shouldn't he meet those standards? The kids toy is the OTHER earthspark megatron, this one has no excuse for being short of the deluxe standard.

I think we should at least compare apples to apples. If you say a warrior class toy looks cheap compared to a legacy deluxe, well no shit sherlock, it's a cheaper toy. Regardless if its made for kids, we arent comparing the same thing.

However, comparing this deluxe megatron to a legacy deluxe (which I think you are doing) is fair game. The RID warrior class toys were great examples of toys made just for kids that were on par with toys of similar price points in the Generations line. And many, myself included, argued that they were the better product on the shelf at the time. I mean you had deluxe CW Deadend on the shelf at the same time as Warrior Class Thunderhoof and Fracture. Those were some of the best toys that year. So yeah, a deluxe Megatron should not be cheap, it should be as good a toy as a deluxe from Legacy or Studio Series. I personally really loved deluxe Cyberverse Bumblebee, Slag, Optimus, Arcee and Soundwave. All those toys were on par with similarly priced toys of other lines.

As for cheaper toys, like the one steps, I have 0 problems since they are a perfect stepstone drug for the harder stuff later, and some are very well made for the age group. And they are sold at a cheaper price point.

admitting the worst, eh? One step chanhers dont need to be majic, I have and like repugnus, but when you look at a figure like Cyberverse one step bumblebee (the one made new for cyberverse), you know they could do better with the budget.

Firstly, I was making a play on words.

Also, one step bumblebee is great, it's a fun design that works really well for younger kids (like 2 years old). My kid loves that toy and it got him into more transformers toys. They could add more paint if that's what you are getting at, but in terms of transformation design, they really hit a sweet spot for young kids.

Optimus Prime move forward, point to his Autobot army then said in a dramatic tone:
"Megatron must be stopped. No matter the cost!."
The Autobots cheer!
Then Optimus cry:
"AUTOBOTS, TRANSFO...."
Silence.
"Hum. AUTOBOTS, MARCH!"

-- A child playing with Transformers, but with complex 3P and Masterpieces instead of the easy 1-steps, 3-steps, and Warrior class toys.

I think the new Megatron looks good. I like how the fusion cannon becomes part of the wings/turbines. and i like the sculpt, it looks good. i agree face looks a bit iffy, but i still like it.

I liked the Cyberverse Megatron, and this looks about on par with that, so i will be excited to handle the mold.

Not at all. I've simply given credit where credit is due. Nothing but positivity and support in the my previous post, which I think is worth doing so whenever possible. This is a great website, with fine, morally upstanding staff. The TF community is a better place with you all and your efforts posting YouTube reviews of this nature.

As for PMs, you could have done that with your post above. However, I regret that these days, I don't check this site as much as I used to, due to a focus on more relevant/recent TF news elsewhere. Still, is always a pleasure to highlight the hard work and robust moral backbone of this site. Keep it up!

Not according to your own sources you used to defend them that called them "probably illegal", but we've already gone around in circles over your paper thin defense and I'll always see you as a hypocrite for it. In Hasbro's eyes PvP is a perfectly acceptable and legit review channel and they're more than happy to provide him with thousands of dollars worth of review samples. As far as Hasbro is concerned you're the bad guy here.

Not incorrect. Your thread used information from the FDA on generic food and drugs and laws on replaceable parts for electronics and vehicles that can't be applied to anything but those specific things. The sources you claimed proved the legality of 3P figures point blank said they were "probably illegal". When I pointed this out the last time instead of providing specific evidence you instead shut the conversation down because you have NOTHING.

Not incorrect. You have blind hatred for the guy so you dismiss everything he does as illegal. Hasbro and Robosen sent him both Optimus Prime and the trailer and Hasbro sent him the Optimus Prime Lego set. I'll say it again, if Hasbro cared they would have had the channel shut down a long time ago, they have that power. They don't care.

Feel free to PM if you want to continue this, the forum is getting tired of your attitude.

Again, you've failed to understand the information given to you regarding a topic not connected directly to that of this thread.

I'm sorry you've again failed to understand both of these matters.

If you wish to discuss the subject of KO or 3P TFs, you've been given links to the appropriate place to do so. I've even engaged with your PMs on the subject and received similarly inaccurate opinions from you regarding that topic in those messages. As such, I'm afraid I cannot attend any more to your opinions, however misguided, at this thread here.

I have never stated any hatred for anyone here and neither will I start upon such an endevour. I have recently stated nothing but positive comments regarding the issue. Again, you've offered no evidence to prove the legimancy of such people, regardless of how great both they and their supporters may indeed be, so I'm afraid I'm unable to accept your opinions, however heartfelt, as based on any facts.

Again, as I and others here have stated, numerous times, you're welcome to ignore any comments posted at the site, by any member, and resolve any conflicts via PM. If you wish a member to reply via PM, you have only to make your statements via PM to begin with. However, if you continue to post them here, then please don't be surprised if replies are posted in the same manner. It's only logical.

As for "the forum" (i.e., "everyone") that again is your own opinion, which I'm afraid has no substance to it. I'm sorry that you feel my recent positive comments regarding the site and a content uploader are triggering for you and I would recommend ignoring any user here whose posts affect you in such a manner.

Regardless, I would like again to express my utmost respect for both you, the site and all supporters related to this matter. Your contributions and options are nothing but a boon to the TF community, Hasbro and Takara Tomy.

Thank you for your time and commentary.

Please stop with attacking us about this. Its not our place to determine if early toys are or are not stolen from factories. I'm sure Hasbro is well aware of the problem. If they want to put a stop to it, they could. It is their place to handle it. It's not ours. We are just here to report on new upcoming Transformers products. It is news if something gets leaked. Reporting on those items has been a practice of Transformers fan sites for the past 30 years.

However, we don't report on 3rd party. I took a hard stance on that. We can't police everything. At some point, Hasbro needs to do it. Its not up to us, or you or any of the Fandom to have to police what they don't want to police.

Please stop derailing these topics. If u aren't happy with this site, I'm sorry u feel that way. Please don't make things more challenging than they need to be for the volunteer staff here, especially to those who volunteer their time to be part of Seibertron.com.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation going forward.

Aren't the first of these Earthspark things supposed to be on store shelves for the Holiday buying rush? If so, Hasbro is running out of time. "Black Friday" is only 2-odd weeks off. Granted, based on what I've seen so far, I have no interest in getting any of them.

But if these things are 'made for kids', then Hasbro needs to get a move-on in getting them on store shelves in time for the holiday-crazed kiddies (and their parents) to SEE them...

This is only a rumor, but it makes sense with what I've seen thus far. A LOT of retailers have run into a problem with supply, they've been getting too much too soon as the factories overseas catch up. That explains why since August and earlier some of us have gotten figures that weren't expected until early next year, like the 60th anniversary Spiderman figures and some GI Joe Classified. Transformers obviously have been affected too. Stores have been getting stock in, pushing it out to shelves, clearance or otherwise, and liquidation stores like Ollie's. The concern now is that because of the early releases, there won't be stock for the holidays. Unless stores are able to adjust their supplies, the Earthspark toys might be at the end of a very long line with the ROTB toys that may not see shelves until next year.

Wouldn't ROTB toys likely have a street date for next spring anyway, though? The Cyberverse packed ones are showing up now, but the movie packaged ones would never come out this early to begin with.

Wouldn't ROTB toys likely have a street date for next spring anyway, though? The Cyberverse packed ones are showing up now, but the movie packaged ones would never come out this early to begin with.

I mean the Cyberverse branded ones. There should've been more out by now besides Prime right?

Hard to say since Walmart pretty much gave up on Cybererse, Prime is the only figure on the shelves right now. I haven't been to Target in a few months so I can't really speak for their current Cyberverse selection.

My Target has restocked several waves of the Cyberverse figures, so I have finally seen Skullcruncher on shelves again for instance. They are still there, but they are also still moving and being restocked with different wave breakdowns, I have been able to tell that.

My Target only just got Wave 2 Legacy last week though, and the last 2 SS waves have yet to hit the shelves (thanks Kup and Blurr), so maybe mine isn't the best example though.

i have my Earthspark deluxes on PO from BBTS for $20. I hope they come soon, all 3 look great

The shift from Prime to RID 2015 also coincided with the shift in the Transformers brand team at Hasbro. The older team was more dedicated to promoting the media lines over the nostalgia lines, whereas now with the current team it's vice versa.

Turns out no. So far only Prime was rebranded. I know I reported otherwise but that was the news at the time and since then it got changed. The one steps should be out soon under byzzworthy bumblebee line but we don't know about the rest. And nothing will stop earthspark from coming out as far as I know.

Big disagree right there. The RID 2015 line had some truly inspired designs and it is amazing how some translated to toys. RID warrior fracture outbeat any other toy in terms of complexity for the pricepoint that year.

Through RID we also got a top notch legion class.

That's only your opinion, I've been collecting since 2000 and the quality of TV show toys have been underwhelming since the start of RID 2015 the new Megatron isn't horrible but it isn't great either

I collected all of RID Legion except for a couple figures that weren't distributed in the States. Amazing quality for that scale, and the designs mean there were a lot of very unique toys. Legion Springload comes to mind, a tiny frog truck, fantastic.

Yeah, this is the scale where you can get a lot of fun decepticon designs we didn't get properly in other classes, within a similar scale. So Springload in his correct alt mode, but also Clampdown and Groundpounder.

Agreed with all of this. People are still sleeping on RiD2015 toys. that was such a good line

People slept on them, sure, but the prices on e-bay tell me there are more than enough people awake now.

Ah, yes. I did do top 5 legions, but I could definitely do top 5 RID legions. Already have a great idea for it. There would only be 1 autobot though.
