This is it, the final member of the Aerialbots, and the final limb for Superion. Air Raid is probably my favorite limb since the jet mode reminds me of the Skystriker from GI Joe. Transformation is very similar to the rest of the team right down to the fantastic hinged leg joints. If you're a fan you've probably already have this figure on order, hope it comes to you real soon.

If it's on their robot mode butts, then it's to allow one to attach the toys to display stands that allow the toys to be posed dynamically in midair.Thadicon wrote:Can any one tell me what this post hole is for?

Considering that we are getting some all-new non-traditional combining robots here... People like Cyclolus and Prime and Alpha Bravo...
Considering that they aren't locking themselves just into 'the way they should be...' and thinking outside the box....
I can not express how much I would LOOOOOOOVE to see the original Dinobots show back up. Slag, Swoop, Grimlock, Sludge, and Snarl as a 5-bot combiner...
I don't know what their big bot form would look like...
But I REEEEEALY want to see this happen!!!

I'm gonna go back into my imagination and keep working them till they are both A) cool, and B) non-psychopathic and needing to be put down...

Actually starting this year I'm not focusing on articulation since I've noticed many a great toy being derided because it can't move like a master Yogi.

Yeah, its weird. I'm in Toronto, and the TRU is at the corner of Yonge and Eglinton, a pretty major area. It might just be that they are getting such limited quantities in that I keep getting screwed. I have seen (and bought) Silverbolt, and then I saw Optimus, Alpha Bravo, Skydive and Firefly once each, and not at the same time either, but didn't have the ability to get them. And ever since I got my Silverbolt its been high-and-dry. It doesn't help though that the store still has a glut of AOE deluxes and Voyagers and Leaders they keep putting on ever cheaper clearance, and oddly a Predaking from Prime that just sits there on the shelf all alone.

LEADER CLASS FIGURES
to be discussed in new thread, to ensure a tidier conversation about the combining toys versus the ones that simply belong in the same line.

[edit]Sniped by albnok. I'm with you on this feeling. I realize I could just purchase the comics from my comic shop, but the completionist in me is not liking this... I'll prolly buy two sets of Wave 1...

But then again, I've done so because I'm holding out for Takara's Superion instead.
Though, it is weird that the issues aren't Combiner Wars ones and are instead from pre-Dark Cybertron RID.

Yup, it's been confirmed by Hasbro the first assortments lacked the comics (well, used the multilingual packaging for the US instead of the English-only one) due to production timing issues.

The weird part to me is the "pre-Dark Cybertron" part. I doubt IDW would want Wave 2 to have CW issues, as that would mean that things planned to come out in April (Windblade CW 2, and RiD CW2) could hit in March as pack-ins. However, why they don't have say, TF/xRiD 35-38 which directly lead into CW, I'm not sure.

They should let us trade in the cards for comics or something.

My guess is that the Prowlestator/Megatron combination beginning of story is essentially seen as the seeding of Combiner Wars in general. It is the reason that Starscream wants Superion active again, and Devastator!Prowl is essentially the reason for the entire thing going down after all.
But, just a guess.

Okay so just so I get somethings on the straighter end of the spectrum. Is the first wave going to be re-released for them to have the proper comics for US distribution, instead of the cards for international retail.?

More like the figures carried over from Wave 1 into the next will have the comics. Remember, while we denote only the new figures, later assortment will mix in older figures as well.

Are you talking about the comics or the menasor pictures, if the latter then I agree, in my opinion there's no need to go to that extreme, but you know what they say, can't please everyone

The pack-in comics are reprinted IDW comics of the Combiner Wars storyline, yes.

Sorry for the joke Scotty. While I personally don't believe in spoilers I know a ton of people on the net do and when it comes to views I can't afford to piss anybody off. Also I'm not 100% sure reading/showing the comic in a video is ok due to copyrights and all.

Except not exactly the Combiner Wars storyline, but pre-Dark Cybertron RID issues so far, called Combiner Wars in the credits page of each issue.

My understanding is that the first wave will have the Dark Cybertron issues and the second wave onwards will have Combiner Wars proper. I don't really know, I don't follow the comics. Though I've been wanting to get into them.

The comics shown in this news post, however, are from the second wave of figures (though the first wave to have comics), and are all pre-Dark Cybertron issues.

The cheapest way to get into the comics is to buy the hard covers. There is Phase 1, volumes 1 - 8 and Phase 2, volume 1 (so far) with volume 2 coming out in a few more months.

In other words, Dinopope = cool! Combining Grimlock, Slag, Snarl, Sludge, and Swoop? Please, no. Never.

ScottyP wrote:I think what Coptur is saying is that the idea of our favorite old Dinobots combining is a bad idea because it ruins their characterization. They're stubborn loose cannons held together by Grimlock because he's the Alpha Dino that could beat them all up, and they're so strong they don't have any need to combine together into a larger robot because they can take anything out anyway. This obviously doesn't always pan out for them in G1 but in their own minds, this is the case.

And if you think that if Dinobots were to be on the Decepticon side we'd be in a heap of trouble, nope:
Bumbling oafs combine into an ever bigger oaf. At least one wised up and joined the Autobot Dinobots in United EX.
