While it appears he may share some engineering with Earthrise Wheeljack, no parts appear to be the same between the two. Sunstreaker is due out in the late third or early fourth quarter of this year, along with wavemate Trailbreaker.
Now that we've got some clearer images, including the back of the figure, is this one you'll be adding to your collection? Let us know below, and stay tuned for the latest news!

I preordered him many months ago from Pulse. He was an auto-buy, as he is far-and-away the best mainline version of Sunstreaker ever designed, like the vast majority of the WFC Trilogy line so far.

If that's the Ironhide/Prowl two-pack, then the reason it's not on the Wiki is because it hasn't been officially revealed yet. The Wiki can only list products that have been revealed through official channels.FellintoOblivion wrote:Is the Autobot Alliance two pack still happening?

I'm inclined to think Spin-Out will probably happen before Cordon, for two reasons:
1. Selects Tigertrack is coming, so I think Hasbro would probably like to get Spin-Out made to complement that and complete the Diaclone borthers.
2. There doesn't look like an easy way to get a lightbar on this mold for Cordon without retooling the car hood/chest, and I feel like getting that kind of retooling for a Diaclone recolor character is unlikely.

While he'll be mass retail for Hasbro's markets, for Japan he'll be another TakaraTomy Mall exclusive.

Well of course not. Auto makers more strictly enforce licensing the likeness of their cars these days. Or are you talking about the cartoon-based arms? Other than that Sideswipe's G1 to the point of having molded detail based on the original toy's stickers.AutobotAlvaron wrote:I like him, but I wish I could love him. Something is OFF about this Sunstreaker. He's not as G1 as I'd hope, he's not as G1 as Siege Sideswipe was, & that was not strictly G1 either.
Sunstreaker's shoulder transformation is a tad less G1, but on the other hand it lends itself better to having shoulder rotation.
As far as vehicle modes go they're equally G1, just trading off which Countach bits they alter and how.
Oh yeah? He's got leg detail based on both the G1 toy's actual leg detail and the undercarriage piece, he's got lights and hood lines on top of his feet, he's got ribbed oblongs for forearms (only missing the dome details) he's got the squarish boosters on the shoulders. he's got the black detail on the chest from the Lamborghini roof... Oh, and of course, let's not forget that he has feet made from the nose of the car and arms made from the aft as per the G1 design. Which is more than the Universe toy can say. And he's not Breakdown's body doing Sunstreaker cosplay.AutobotAlvaron wrote:There aren't enough call-backs to the G1 toy in bot-mode detail & color-wise,
That's true, but 1. the red shoulders only existed in the first place because of Hasbro being too cheap and lazy to change the stickers when they changed the toy from red to yellow and 2. The red shoulders would look even worse in car mode on this guy than they do on the original. Seriously, think about it.AutobotAlvaron wrote:there's no red shoulders,
They're bad enough on the original toy. On the Earthrise toy they'd be bigger and also more visible, because they'd be on the top of the car.
As is that of most Deluxe-class characters, because of plastic austerity. That SIEGE Mirage came with his complete weapon set is something of a miracle, and a show of plastic savings elsewhere in the design.AutobotAlvaron wrote:his weaponry is inadequate,
1. You were delusional if you expected chrome; at most it would have been silver-painted. Chrome is a luxury we haven't gotten on regular releases in a long time, especially in the US. And honestly, the stuff HasTak use to metallize toy parts is highly vulnerable to human skin oil anyway and they've never sprung for protective finish...AutobotAlvaron wrote:and...oh there it is! His car-mode has NO CHROME SPOILER, THAT'S IT!!
2. Plastic austerity again. There's also the issue of where to put it in robot mode, but I'm certain that plastic austerity played a greater role (After all, if nothing else they could have made the supercharger piece bigger and made the spoiler part of it)
I agree that he'd look better with a spoiler, but I understand why it wasn't in the cards. Especially not a chrome one.

is (half-hearted & insufficient weaponry should be expected), but I want what I like, & I felt like expressing it. I'll have to get the
Masterpiece to check off (most of) the things I want in a Sunstreaker, but with Siege Sideswipe, I felt such a satisfying
correlation that this figure just doesn't quite match. HasTak has the license, why not use it? Or is it only for use on the MP?
Anyway, I do like it despite my nitpicks, though he needs the aforementioned add-ons. The older I get, the more of a G1 purist I
become!
Posted by ZeldaTheSwordsman on July 8th, 2020 @ 12:26am CDT
The license is indeed strictly for the MP. And I'm fine with the regular line using approximated car modes instead of licensed... After all, if they were licensed the prices would probably go up further.AutobotAlvaron wrote:Your points are all sound (I knew about the red vestigial diaclone sticker), & I realize that my expectations don't fit what this toy

I have to say that adding a spoiler to Sunstreaker is simpler than adding one to Sideswipe would be, since if nothing else they could just make it part of a bigger version of the supercharger piece (or part of an extension to the supercharger piece).
Sideswipe, the spoiler would have to transform to not get in the way of his knees (since HasTak changed the leg transformation because of their bizarre aversion to telescoping legs), which is probably why we haven't seen a kit for one yet; that would take design effort, which the 3P upgrade kit companies gave up on 3 years ago.

Runamuck is due for release this fall in the US, however in Japan, he's listed as a Takara Tomy Mall exclusive, due in December, for ¥3080, which is currently about $28.64.
Who's adding this figure to their collection? Let us know what you think below!

I'm sure hasbro is doing it on purpose to annoy the third paty filler providers, between smokescreen, runamuck and scorponok. "Here, see if ya can fill this!!!"
I like what they have tried to do with runamucks fake wheels but it doesnt look as though it worked out that well. He really needed his orange too but I'll likely be picking him up as long as runabout is a rtail release/easy to get. Car mode seems like they cant decide to commit to earthmodes and looks a bit of a mess but hopefully it will be better in hand.

Regardless, I'm sure it will look better in hand. It won't be a white object photographed in stark lighting and then placed on a stark white background, it will be at its real size, and you'll probably be able to align the legs better than the photographer.
And blame the cartoon for the lack of orange:
Maybe it's not too late to complain? Of course, the mold layout could make adding it troublesome...

Sculpted windshield guff that's normally considred cybertronian guff (fortunately it hides in bot mode and the robot chest has a smooth windscreen. The hood square indentations which dont really represent headlights and the unfortunate placement of the gold strip makes them look worse.

He has 5mm ports on his arms that end up at the rear of the car. So someone could definitely make a spoiler to plug in to them.

I think that sculpted stuff is mainly for the benefit of his robot mode, since some of it is visible behind his torso.blackeyedprime wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:What part of that car mode doesn't look like an Earth mode? Like, seriously, what?

The indentations aren't supposed to represent headlights. They're supposed to represent the indentations in front of the headlights. The headlights proper, are the rectangles behind the indents.blackeyedprime wrote:The hood square indentations which dont really represent headlights and the unfortunate placement of the gold strip makes them look worse.
Just like on the original toy. Granted, the gold stripe is on top of the headlights instead of in front of them now, probably for ease of machine painting. But it doesn't really hurt things, considering they're supposed to be pop-up headlights.
And when you factor in the park lights and grille below the hood, the Earthly wheels, the gas tank cover, the doors complete with door handles...

Me, I'll buy Doubledealer full price when I'll find it in stores. As for the cassettes pack, I stupidly missed out on the preorders so I had no choice but to pay 20$CAN extra to a reseller/scalper.
I feel your pain. I got my set about $15+ extra from a reseller but I had an excuse for missing out on preorders; I was out in the New Mexico desert doing cool tank stuff and my old phone was on its last leg so I couldn’t even get on the internet much less than stay in contact with my folks back home
Cool tank stuff? Now you have my attention.
Mine too! Also, be honest Mindmaster, you did name your tank Brawl, right? (because that would be awesome)
I say “cool tank stuff” but it was more me and my crew sitting in the desert with our broke af tank waiting for another crew to finish their gunnery run so we could hop on their tank and do our gunnery runs. Sadly no, my tank is named “Collimated Hate” (named after the collimation process, which is part of getting the sights on the tank lined up with the guntube, goofy name if you ask me) since our tanks have to start with “C” (the company’s name is “Comanche”) so no Brawls or Megatrons in sight. Aside from the maintenance (which tanks are a huge pain in the ass), tanking is fun. I’m the driver for my current crew lineup (I started as a driver when I first got to my unit in Korea, then was a loader when I came back to the states, now back to driver) and I personally really enjoy driving. Hoping to get a gunner’s spot before my contract ends late next year.
Didn’t mean to derail the thread, just wanted to get that out there.

I honestly would love this. Decepticon army builders are my schtick, I think it’s a fun idea to have a small band of Autobots versus a group of Decepticons augmented by hordes of nameless nobody drone dudes like how Prime’s story did it. If they do end up making drone characters from this mold, I’ll happily get a few. And Runabout/Overrun for obvious reasons.

Hasbro LOVES to release redecos that go into teams as exclusives rather than mainline figures. They did it with Ironhide, the seekers (as you mentioned), the Datsuns and even the cassettes. So Runabout will probably be a selects release or Walgreens exclusive or Amazon exclusive set or something like that.

Runamuck was the fan poll winner. It was a vote for just him rather than both of them. But, we can likely expect a Runabout later on, too, since, like you said, it's a simple redeco.Rodimus Prime wrote:Since we're getting a Runamuck, we should be getting a Runabout as well, right? Sure seems like they intend to:

Though we've seen figures with the wrong guns (and heads) before that didn't lead to a new figure so who knows, but this is such an each retool I'd be surprised if we didn't get Runabout.
