He's shown up at online retailers, we've had video reviews but now we finally have a sighting of the original Cybertronian ape himself, Siege Apeface! Seibertronian D-Maximal_Primal found him at a Targét in Robinson, Pennsylvania. Yours truly found him the same day at a Walmart in Centerville, Utah. Included below is D-Max's photo proof and unboxed figure, and I've included some comparison photos with my own G1 Apeface, and his Titans Return incarnation. While you're enjoying this Apefacefest, why not check out Seibertron's own, high-quality galleries of the triple-changer Horrorcon by clicking here?

Good find, I found him over the weekend at two Targets where I am at in Virginia. I posted that under the Sightings Forum for Virginia.

I thought Apeface had been out for a while, saw him at Walmart yesterday. I fear I won't be seeing Astrotrain soon though as stores in my area are overstocked with Leaders. Something I haven't seen in years

I found him day before Thanksgiving at Target... One day after I finally opened the one I got from Amazon. Same Target has also had the new micromasters, Spinister, and Crosshairs, but no new battlemasters.

I picked up mine on 11/30/19. I thought I was late!! I've seen like 10 of them in Baltimore, MD since then.

I've not seen any of the new wave besides him, though.

You guys SERIOUSLY need a general news forum like TFW. Relying on people to fill out a form for sightings or having people contact news crew is just not working for you.

This dude, like most of your sightings, has been out for weeks.

This.

The way news is handled is a train wreck on here and it’s probably the same reason news is sometimes a week or two behind other sites

Is there anything more useless than sightings news stories though? "I'm the first one to find Botbots series 4 in a Target in Arizona!" Good for you? I don't live in Arizona, so who cares?

Sightings are just taking "first" comments in the replies and making them into a post.

Yerp, way better to frequent the sightings section to track figure movement

So I've been out of the loop on Transformers toys for a little while, but I saw this line in the store the other day and I was curious, is the toyline based on any current media (a new game, comic, etc.) or is it just a standalone toyline inspired by War for Cyberton?

It's its own new thing, telling its own story about the last day before the Ark launched off of Cybertron, taking its main inspiration from the first episode of the G1 cartoon, in which the characters had Cybertronian altmodes but retained the same robot modes that they would continue to have on Earth. The second line of the trilogy, Earthrise, will likewise tell its own story about the Ark's journey through space.

The new IDW comics have used designs based on the Siege toyline, but are mostly telling their own pre-war story. Meanwhile, a new Netflix series is being created for the War for Cybertron Trilogy toylines, with Season 1 based on the Siege line, while Season 2 will be based on the Earthrise line.

Unhelpful to these matters is how this Trilogy is titled "War for Cybertron", but is otherwise completely unrelated to the old 2010 video game of the same name.

Since a lot of people are getting their Apefaces now, just a word of advice: be careful removing the shield from the jet. The long, clear plastic peg isn't very strong, I snapped mine right off removing the shield. There's just enough peg left to attach securely to the arm and it can still connect to the cockpit, but it's a bit of a bummer having the broken peg.

I sent mine back to Amazon, I paid too much to have a broken toy. Not sure if we should make a breakage article about this. And I am really hoping Hasbro rereleases him with this fixed when Snap Dragon comes out.

How is the combined mode? I was disappointed with the Off Road and Race Car patrols. Bot mode was janky on the dude's with the huge shoulders and combined mode looked lame, to me. The Decepticon's Air Strike patrol rocks and I love the sword mode!

Stand on your head and look at the combined picture, that'll tell you.

(The combined mode is fine, they stick together well. The point of my snark is just that the "gun" mode is terrible.)

Is it confirmed that he is NOT getting rereleased? Because, as I said, even snap dragon isn't a confirmed release yet and i'd assume they stick em together if Apeface was rereleased.

It would be really cool if the Earthrise re-releases would drop the battle damage paint apps. That would give us a choice on if we want to get them first in Siege or just wait until Earthrise for a "cleaner" look. Bonus points if an Earthrise Apeface were redone with better, non-pearlescent white plastic and the shield peg problem fixed.

I'm afraid the plastic used is a structural necessity. Otherwise we'd see a lot more breaking other than that shield peg.

That I couldn't tell you. I can tell you that even if the dye used is the same shade as the white ABS, other components of the plastic could change the final color. Hasbro is somewhat inept in matching shades between plastics and paint apps.

Which is mind boggling, as Takara Tomy does a MUCH better job on paint and plastic matching, so you'd think they could teach Hasbro how to do it. Worse yet, these toys are all made at the same factories, so there's really nothing preventing them from getting it right. #-o

Shopping around on Walmart.com and found this...

Anyone care to to help me figure out what this is supposed to mean?

How is the combined mode? I was disappointed with the Off Road and Race Car patrols. Bot mode was janky on the dude's with the huge shoulders and combined mode looked lame, to me. The Decepticon's Air Strike patrol rocks and I love the sword mode!

Honestly, I don't care for the "blaster" combined modes.
It seems odd and clunky.

On the other hand...
We need dedicated Targetmasters for those that need some.
Crosshairs, Spinister...
The line is making Gun Bots anyway,
they might as well be doing so for the right guys!

Are the Targetmasters official releases? I seem to have missed them...

They released dedicated target masters for Spinister, one was part of the Skywarp exclusive set, the other was in the last wave of battle masters.
