these pre-war packs are pretty neat too
Posted by Spider5800 on August 25th, 2023 @ 9:18am CDT
Core BM Cheetor IS an odd choice though. Guess someone felt he needed to have a version in every size class imaginable. Maybe they'll keep Beast Machines tradition alive and make all the other characters, but in completely incorrect scales for each other (I'm guessing deluxe Primal, voyager Blackarachnia, leader Nightscream, and commander Rattrap, with a core class Tankor thrown in for a sole villain).
Excited to see how the voyager BW Silverbolt turns out, I never had one as a kid.

My bad, I was misremembering a quote from earlier in the thread, they were actually predicting Tigerhawk would be remolded into a different character.

I saw the leak rumor about Thundertron first, so must have just got it mixed up.

It's like it's 2021 all over again: size class does not equal height. My guess is it's going to go into the engineering, and both modes should have a sizeable wingspan. Whether he'll justify the voyager class price for fans is an open question, but I'm not surprised by the class in any event.

Given his wingspan, I was hoping for a voyager
Posted by AllNewSuperRobot on August 25th, 2023 @ 12:44pm CDT
The wingspan wasn't a source of complaint for the deluxe figure. Only that there should have been a hinge to pivot the angle of the back kibble in bot mode.

AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Height and mass for a medium sized character didn't necessitate a class change. He also isn't exactly an intricate figure/design in either mode. That needed extra size to be "fixed".

Maybe, maybe not. Why not wait to actually see the figure and decide if it's in the wrong class?

I didn't call you a child or a fanboy, and I already said I don't know why it went up a size class. There are multiple generations figures who have changed class recently without being any taller, and it's generally reflected in the part count and engineering. Without seeing the figure, like I said before, I couldn't tell you if it was a good decision or not. But I think it's silly to automatically challenge it as undeserved when we haven't seen the toy yet.
Posted by D-Maximal_Primal on August 25th, 2023 @ 12:59pm CDT
For one thing, beast wars deluxes are not modern deluxes in any capacity, and to me compared to the recent beasts it feels small.
Some comparison pics. He is kneeling to be about the same height as Blackarachnia (deluxe), and he's about a head shorter than TM Megatron, who is of comparable height to his OG body, which got a Leader toy. And I would think Quickstrike would be a Cliffjumper-esque deluxe, so the scale would be good there too.
So voyager should fit him perfectly.
Also, I hope that a Windrazor repaint is in the cards for him. I hold a special place in my heart for him/them, and that is a character that also feels like it deserves a voyager size, given how he/they were formed.
Posted by AllNewSuperRobot on August 25th, 2023 @ 1:07pm CDT
This is a more accurate depiction of his height. He is roughly as tall as Primal.
AcademyofDrX wrote:AllNewSuperRobot wrote:I didn't say it was the "wrong class", like a child/fanboy. I queried why there was an upscale?

Hence the query. How to put this? His design was basic and simple. Four limbs, representing the same four Beast limbs. His crotch flap covers the bot body in Beast Mode. Beast head over bot head etc His design could easily be replicated in a core class figure. So parts count would be minimal. Similarly engineering isn't too dissimilar from other four legged Beast Bots.

You can't really go off their toy sizes, at least not the first season characters. Blackarachnia was one of the smallest characters on the show, roughly the same height as Rattrap, but her toy was like twice Rattrap's toy height. Meanwhile, Terrorsaur was one of the taller Predacons, but had the smallest toy of all of them.
Silverbolt in the show was slightly shorter than Transmetal Primal, which makes sense as a large deluxe or a short voyager, since Primal got slightly bigger when he was upgraded and Transmetal Megatron is still roughly leader size.
Interestingly, Transmetal 2 Dinobot should also be leader class at that scale, and everyone bigger than that probably makes more sense at commander, which is kind of nuts.

Since MP Blackarachnia has already been released. I hope this is addressed with MP Rattrap.

One of the reasons it is highly doubtful the TM line will appear in the Masterpiece collection.
I don't think I ever noticed that TM2 Blackarachnia was still that small

Yep, her toy was the equivalent of a voyager today (think it was called mega class at the time?), so a lot of people misremember her getting huge in the show, but she was still the same height.

With the number of parts she has, TM Blackie would be sold as a LEADER if reissued today.

Even funnier when you consider:
1) 2024 wave 1 leader Prime is rumored to be a new mold, of what Prime no one is really sure
2) Bulkhead was supposed to be retooled into an Optimus Prime, but that hasn't happened yet
3) I'm not sure there is a good mold for an Optimus to be retooled from at the deluxe price.
Unless.....hear me out.....

I'm also looking forward to Tasmanian kid, windblade, slipstream, Sandstorm, and the rock-bots. I hope vector Prime and the animated Bumblebee & Optimus Prime are cool too
I hope leader Soundwave is Prime universe or idw or something. If its g1 then ill still get it because I adore Soundwave but still
Thundertron is confusing me. There's am upcoming voyager AND a leaked Walmart leader class. So which one will I want? Haha because I'm getting that character one way or another

There's always a chance. How many versions of Impactor did we get including retailer exclusives, including with an alternate head in one. That said, I would much rather see any of the other members, especially the many that haven't shown up in Generations recently. Maybe this is how we get some more Deluxe Insecticons?

I'm hoping for different characters as well, I already have legacy bludgeon on preorder and I wouldn't want to double dip if the other one looks better

The line already exists to support the show, after all.
Thanks to the "backflip bump" because of the new poster, I could post this to ask for...
At least ONE Kiss Players reference. The easiest thing would be to repaint/remold the deluxe ER Prowl as Autorooper. And please include a little Atari figure ON SCALE with him.

There will be an Autorooper in the next BWBB 4 pack, but it will be based on the Siege Ironhide figure. So it doesn't really count.

Two thing:
There's no indication that he's being up scaled just because he's being up classed. This could easily (and likely) be the same situation as SS86 Voyager Ironhide who is actually shorter than the WFC Deluxe figures.
Second, what you described isn't how Silverbolt transforms, his actual transformation requires folding the wolf head down to form the torso, folding the front legs down to form the bot leg and crotch, and swinging the back legs forward to finish the torso and form the arms. A Core couldn't do all that. I imagine they'll also go for cartoon accuracy and make it so the wings can fold on his back instead of sit on his shoulders which the original couldn't do due to his action feature.
(edit: fixed a word)

Commander I strongly believe will be Armada Tidal Wave. Titan - I honestly have no idea. Some have speculated since the Quintesson corkscrew ship from TF:TM has appeared in some artwork, that may be a guess. But since it really isn't as iconic as the Ark or Nemesis, It's not really something I would want, not sure if the fandom really has been asking either.
At this point, the fact that neither we, nor insiders, have any clue what the Titan for the 2024 main Generations line will be, has me slightly excited.
As for all the most recent leaks... I guess the idea about doing another wreckers capsule on Amazon isn't happening. I just want a Diaclone colored Topspin to go with my Twintwist.

I would love the corkscrew ship, but I'm sure it would be a nightmare to engineer. I would like a Junkion ship too, but that's even less iconic.
I'm convinced sooner than later Hasbro will take another stab at a G1 Metroplex, and an obvious Selects redeco opportunity adds an extra benefit. It's been a full ten years since the last one, not counting the later reissue, so I think the time is right.

That can only mean one thing. Titan Class Optimus Prime!
About the leaks, I haven't noticed anyone commenting on the fact that we're getting two Thundertrons next year (aside from saying the Legacy figure isn't a retooled Tigerhawk). Not only that, they aren't the same class!
Voyager Prime Thundertron
Tra Gen Legacy Star Seekers Leader Thundertron
So what could that mean about the Star Seekers Thundertron? It would be very disappointing if the Legacy version is a retooled Leo Prime and the Leader version is a repainted Tigerhawk. I could see the Voyager being a new figure, but not both.

I'm wondering if the leader version will be the same as the voyager but with more accessories? Or a bonus core class figure? Maybe the leaks aren't completely accurate with the size classes or something

1) For both, there shouldn't be any "visible bot head syndrome" in lion mode. The head is inside a shell that can be pulled down, then rotated do make the lion's belly. I never watched any video reviews nor looked at the instructions so....
2) Leo Prime isn't missing any guns. It's Nemesis Leo who come with two extras.
That is all.

Tidal Wave Commander (though i would prefer Titan) and Titan Iaconus are my guesses/hopes.

When I first moved into my townhouse and was setting the collection up, I put him on the top shelf, not because he's a top shelf Transformer, but because I wouldn't be looking that high to see the piece of shit. Anyway, his tail fell off and fell down the back of the bookcase. I didn't care, I knew it was there.
Years passed and I moved from the townhouse to a proper sized house which meant moving the collection. When I moved the bookcase, there was the tail. Before putting it back on display I transformed it, just to remind myself how crap it is, then put it back into beast mode and again, put it on the top shelf, and again, the tail fell off.
I don't really hate Transformer designs, some I'll simply dislike, but Supreme Class Cheetor is an absolute piece of shit but I can't bring myself to part with it, because it actually looks good in beast mode, even without a tail.
I pity the poor bastard who bought that thing after you sold it, even at $20CAN that was too much to pay.
