Based on that, it seems to me like there's a solid chance that one of the other Shattered Glass figures for the year after Grimlock is Rodimus, most likely from the SS86 mold.

Followed by a Lost Light version.

....well I can, but in the time between that screenshot being taken (which was on the 25th by a person on a different site) and now, said user has removed the "Rodimus Unicronus" option from their offerings: https://shopee.ph/Hasbro-Transformers-Legacy-Kingdom-Generation-Select-robot-Model-i.472500711.15384808354?xptdk=2852c725-eda2-48a4-9534-ff3765331341 That being said, looking through the seller's reviews and double-checking the original "SG Perceptor" article, I can 100% confirm that this is the exact same seller and the exact same listing that Magnificus first came from, the review the first pictures of Magnificus came from is even still there on page 22 of reviews.william-james88 wrote:Can you provide a link?
Exactly. This particular individual has not only sold stolen factory samples multiple times before (so they're not getting the packaging or instructions to get accurate names from), but we have a specific example of them getting a figure that technically could be released under 1 of 2 names, guessing which name is correct to use for the listing, and using an older existing picture as their stock photo instead of an actual picture of the new figure (for Magnificus they used a picture of him/SG Perceptor from one of the comics). This is literally Magnificus Leak 2: Rodimus Boogaloo.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:But the listing is selling that Rodimus Unicronus toy as "Rodimus Unicronus", not as "Shattered Glass Rodimus". There is no confusion/deception this time.
I get what he means, he is saying that the person doesn't really know what line his new toys is from. So while he may think it's Rodimus Unicronus, and lists it as such, it might actually be Shaterred Glass Hot Rod.
Plus Hasbro themselves said when SG Grimlock went up for preorder that Grim was their "first SG figure of the year", which inherently implies the existence of more releases, and Rodimus does fit with their other SG releases all being the popular/evergreen characters, characters that were important in the original SG fiction, and/or characters who can double as updates to other more-obscure characters. Pretty sure he was in the recent MotG cards that got SG versions too.

I've been on the fence about getting Rodimus Unicronus for my SG collection, but it just doesn't hit the right notes for me.
So if this IS true, and we're getting Grimlock and then Rodimus, I wonder who else is on the table this year? We need some big Decepticons to fill in the ranks, like Shockwave, Cyclonus, and the other Seekers.
And however unlikely, I would LOVE a multi-pack featuring just a bunch of SG Cassettebots.

I'm still holding out hope for an Earthrise Dirge/Titans Return Repugnus two pack.

Ah, so it sounds like another case of Hasbro trying to get two uses out of one SG figure again. Guess I'm buying two, I was hoping they'd use the LL or movie colors for the unreleased Velocitron figure, but they went with that toy deco instead.

His visor and saw don't make up for how much better the Kingdom Prime figure is. Sword offsets saw, visor is really the only thing missing, but even then, the SS86 mold is just so much inferior.
Plus, Kingdom doesn't use faux parts, has a bigger spoiler, is more solid, and many others things.
i too got notice Grimlock was preparing to ship. Dangit!

But where's Sam?
Posted by Gearslide on May 19th, 2023 @ 4:11pm CDT
I never realized how much the molding of a figure can do for the visuals, because SG Grimlock's paint is very minimal and the molding does some HEAVY lifting. The end result is pretty damn good, I just wish the gray paint was more matte and less glossy. But it's still really good.
I do wish he came with the sword as well, but considering SG Grimlock is a Genius Tactician, I guess a gun is more in line with him than a melee weapon.
Would be cool to get one of those "Figure with a bunch of Accessories & Combat Effect" packs they've done before for SG.
Edit: So here's an issue: I can't flip out Grimlock's right hand after having transformed him and back. It's just completely stuck in there.
Edit2: Managed to get it out by carefully wedging a small tool in there to get some leverage. But it was REALLY stuck in there.

Nemesis Destron wrote:Did anyone else encounter any QC issues with their SG Grimlock? My thanks in advance!
As I mentioned in the post above, the ONLY issue I've had is that the fists can get stuck after folding them in.
It seems there are two thresholds the fists can fold to. The first is a soft notch that will keep them in place. But if you go past that, there's a second hard notch that will lock the fist in with a click and become VERY difficult to flip it back out from. The trick seems to be being delicate and not going past the first threshold.
But otherwise, no issues. No bad paint, no mismatched or incorrect parts, etc.

That silver paint is SHARP. Surprised they went with that instead of just white, but it really looks great.

That's because K Rodimus is most likely molded with the trailer part. And since he's the only Commander that under-performed, "reissuing" it was a bad idea.
Posted by Sabrblade on May 22nd, 2023 @ 8:06pm CDT
Probably because the character was always Hot Rod in all but name and never truly Rodimus Prime. The original toy was released at the time when Hasbro no longer had the name "Hot Rod" available to use, and were instead using just "Rodimus" without the "Prime" to refer to Hot Rod. Such was the case with the original 2006 release of the Classics Rodimus mold, which was also used for the original 2008 SG figure.o.supreme wrote:I wonder why ( aside from cost) they chose SS86 Hot Rod as the template and not Kingdom Rodimus? They've also put up a listing for the G2 Mirage we know his coming from Toxitron Collection, but their picture for that is literally just a digibash of that color scheme on the Siege mold (it's still watermarked even) that has been around since Siege, so I don't know if their picture for Rodimus is 100% indicative of the final mold choice, since I doubt Hasbro is going to randomly revert back to the Siege mold for that Mirage.
A little bummed the Lost Light colors didn't happen. But maybe that's not a bad thing, they can still do it properly later rather than try to shoehorn it into SG.

I guess that makes sense. I was just thinking back to the previous Rodimus Unicronus toy in PotP which was both a Hotrod & Rodimus Upgrade.

Yeah, but with that toy, Hasbro went out of their way to say "No no, this isn't SG Roddy, no siree, this is totally a NEW form of normal Roddy who's instead a Unicron-corrupted version! Look! Ah, lighting in the pic I glanced at made it look darker than it does in the others. I was meaning closer to the grey used for the Legacy Dinobots, not the gunmetal grey

Not bad, I'm generally not into SG versions but this one kind of looks neat. Though it is a bit too simple just being Raider colors and a hint of purple. And I'm not really digging the head sculpt.
While probably accurate, it just lacks a bit of pazazz. Particularly at their prices.

That's nice for Grimlock. lol
But some of the others I was interested in being around $10 more than their basic counterpart is why I ultimately passed on them. Case in point, I really like the looks of Slicer but $49 for a DLX Bot???
Yeah okay it also comes with some other "Exo-Suit" thing that I don't want which pads the price, but at best it's only the price of a "Core" bot which still leaves $15 unaccounted for. IMO
Same for Flamewar, a Neat looking Bot but not a must have at almost double the price!
Blurr was a little better in that regard since it was basically Voyager priced, I just wasn't a big enough fan of the character where I felt I need an alternat version of him.
So I for one would like to see what is essentially just a repaint of an existing mold sold at more reasonable prices as their initial release.
