Far too many of these guys are ones that I already have perfectly good Henkei and/or Masterpiece of. Don't really need Wreck Gar or all these 1984 guys. It's interesting to see 1984 guys being repaints of other figures for a change though.

Combaticons, I'm digging it. I like the new sculpts, and Blast-Off's alt mode finally makes sense (though his name doesn't). Onslaught looks great, and is a very smart retool. I still prefer the Universe (or rather USA Edition) version but will be getting this one for combining purposes. I hope Brawl's combiner hand/foot/weapon can go on his back in robot mode.

A new, bafflingly G1-accurate Sky Lynx? And he combines? Sure, why not. Stick him among Legends class and he'll be the right size.

Also there's finally a CHUG G1 Shockwave figure so people can stop whinging about that.

I was hoping to see Victorion or even, dare I say it, Computron.

Hasbro has to save something for San Diego Comic Con later this summer.

Good luck with that wish. I am sure plenty of people will still be whinging, "But he doesn't scale in robot mode! He should be at least a Deluxe! Maybe even a Voyager!"

In fact, while I will get and love the Legends Shockwave, please allow me to be the first one to so whinge for you. Where's my Classics style Deluxe Shockwave?

Can't they somehow squeeze in a sold case of Scourge repaints for Cyclonus/Galvatronus? I don't care if they use Airraid, Fireflight/Slingshot or Skydive just so long as we can get four of the same for the combined mode. I mean, Sky Lynx is getting his own team technically (even though it's probably supposed to be Optimus' team as Sky Lynx has no connection to those Autobots) so why the hell isn't Cyclonus? Make it an online exclusive like Slingshot and Wildrider if you have to, just make them please.

I don't really care if Sky Lynx can't split apart. However, it does look like it could be possible as the shuttle is just a backpack and nothing else really. It's just that the lynx head would be coming out the wrong end from the rest of the figure. Assuming it would be using the combined mode's head. Looking at Sky Reign, it looks like the shuttle cockpit is a buttflap. Meaning that the combined mode's head comes out of the backside of Sky Lynx. With the chest of Sky Reign being the thrusters of the shuttle, it also shows that the lynx combiner head comes out of the back of the figure. Oh well. Like I said, I don't care if it can't come apart. Would it be cool? Of course, but it's not necessary.

I also still wish that the Groove mold's feet slid up into the shins. Those legs are long as it is and those feet do nothing to help.

Also wasn't it confirmed that Hasbro is releasing both colors of the Combaticons at retail as a running change? So why are people still worried about the colors either not being toy accurate or show accurate? You can get both, either or mix and match as most of us might have to do.

At first I was amused that Rook was going to be the only one who could do the Hulk-hands thing since the Swindle and Hound versions of the mold don't have the forward-facing holes, but then I noticed that Trailbreaker has one. He doesn't even look like he has a hand, just a tube with a hole in the end. Why? Is that supposed to be how he uses his force field? Or, maybe this is a (miraculously given he had no brain anymore) resurrected Trailbreaker and they lost his hand before they put him back together? He did die in a lot of pieces in MTMTE.

I just kind of figured that they were trying to emulate his hand cannon, although it is odd that they put it on the opposite side then that that it is usually depicted on.

Aha. I was not aware that he had that. Thanks!

And Nemesis Primal, I'm pretty sure Va'al was right in saying Buzzsaw's main alt mode is an Onyx tablet from the comics, which makes the wheeled alt mode just an Onyx tablet on wheels. Maybe because it would be quicker and more inconspicuous to roll around when he's trying to be stealthy than suddenly turning into a bird and flying away.

A lot of G1 figures that had fists that needed to be removed for transformation had things like missiles, blasters, drills, cannons, or what have you that could optionally be plugged in in place of the fists. And sometimes, these alternate hand replacements were also featured in the show as something the character could temporarily replace his hand with if he needed to.

The amount of re-treads is amazing and disappointing, but I guess it's cool they're at least coming out with all those CW models.

What's the ETA for their release? Are we waiting until 2016 for all of these even just in vanilla Hasbro versions?

Everything looks AMAZING! Or as Sky Lynx would say it, magnificent! I think out of everything, my favorite is Sky Reign. The only thing that could make him better is if Sky Lynx's wings could fold out in combined mode, giving it a Prime Thunderwing-like look.

Amazing and disappointing? That seems a bit contradictory.

And what do you mean about re-treads? Are you talking about the many figures that are re-used molds, even if many of them are actually pretty heavily remolded in the process? (Or, at the least, usually have new heads?) If so, then I think they've been doing an awesome job getting their money's worth out of these molds, and in the process getting us a ton more figures then they'd be able to if they were all new molds.

Or by re-tread are you referring to all of the Autobot car characters who are getting Combiner Wars versions even though they already have Classics style figures? If so, then I agree that these new ones aren't 100% necessary. But they are neat, and if you don't want 'em, no one is forcing you to buy 'em. ;)

Nope, I'm amazed how many there are and it disappoints me. And yes, talking about what are essentially different colors of existing CW molds. I know WHY they're doing it, I just wish they didn't have to do it that way.

There are not as many of these I'll actually want since many are just repaints of existing CW bots, where as MP versions of some of these would be instant buys.

When do these arrive in stores? Not 'til 2016? Or will we see these soon?

Well, I am amazed that you're disappointed in having too many choices. Well, as I said, it isn't like you have to buy 'em all. Buy the ones you like, enjoy 'em, and leave it at that.

As for release dates... I don't have them all memorized, but the info is floating around this site (or even this very thread) if you were to look for it. The short version, as best as I can remember it, and not counting stuff already seen in retail, is this: The four of the Autobot car based limbs are coming out this year, as well as the white Voyager Prime, Legends Hot Rod and Skywarp, and the Leader Starscream. I think the rest of it you'd have to wait for 2016 on. And if I am mistaken, I am sure someone will be along to correct me.

Pretty sure that's just a typical case of a stock photo being horribly mistransformed. You can see that Breakdown not only has no such backpack, but with the hand/foot thing tabbed into the figure's back, which on Sunstreaker will be silver, it emulate's Sunstreaker's back mounted engine block nicely.

Image

In fact, with how it will be kind of integral to the look of Sunstreaker's individual robot mode, this is the one Combiner Wars gestalt I'm planning to have where I may be reluctant to replace the gestalt's hands and feet with third party ones.
