The Matrix isn't the one doing the picking here. WE are. Us fans are the ones who get to decide. Our vote transcends any say that the Matrix has in this. It's our vote, not the Matrix's. It has no say in this matter. What we say is what it has to go with.

I did not realize that us fans are actually characters in the story who decide who is the god damn Prime unlike what has happened otherwise when other true Primes have been chosen by the Matrix.

It's cool lets ignore the thing that knights the Primes from the story because it's obvious in the story these guys are just going to be voted as a fake.

If the poll chooses a 'con, there'll be some reasoning for it in-story.

Because unless chosen in a natural matter they will become a fake Prime they are a fake pretender throwing the word Prime around and it is a disgrace for them to be on the same plain as true Primes such as Optimus or Rodimus.

The IDW adds the results from the toyline this vote is from not the other way around so forget about IDW which is not as grand as everyone says it is since it's becoming worse and worse ever since season 2 of the current series of comics began.

The point of this contest/vote will be lost if the results do not give a true prime and just some guy claiming to be one.

I don't particularly see the problem with that, if anything IDW keeps getting better (Windblade's series in particular has seen a massive surge in quality), and I'd find it far more interesting to get a Decepticon Prime rather than just another Autobot Prime. I really don't see what would be interesting about Magnus or Hound as Prime - and especially not Star Saber. Megatron or Deathsaurus would be extremely interesting.
Besides, we're voting for the leader of Cybertron. Not the leader of the Autobots. Hence it's pretty much implied that we're voting in a post-war scenario. And who knows? Maybe the Matrix does sense something in Megatron. Something that could help lead the planet into prosperity that was lost in the war but perhaps could be rekindled.
I'm not saying this would happen, but that's the point - we don't know how this'll unfold. So I think it's a bit ridiculous to be making judgements now that they'll be a fake Prime or whatever. We'll just have to see

I agree IDW is getting better not worse also Megatron and Deathsaurus would be cool choices may only problem is with Starsaber,Thunderwing,and Shockwave who have by no stretch of the imagation commited Cybertroian war crimes. Like it or not it will most likely affect IDW contonuity for better or worse,but it's definitely going to be interesting.

Because this is different from voting and making a new character this vote will change one of these characters and who they are forever Shockwave or Megatron will forever be associated with being a Prime if they get voted and do you really want some damn evil characters to be elected leader of the planet with a name to stand amongst Optimus and Rodimus characters who are good and pure of heart?

I will not accept what the meaning of being a good leader of pure heart is too be tarnished by some damn vote if I have to I will keep on stating why any of these other Autobots should become Prime instead of characters usually associated with being evil or not pure hearted.

Where was it said that this would be a permanent thing? Optimus went back to being Orion Pax in "The Death of Optimus Prime" before return to his Prime status in Dark Cybertron. What makes you so sure that this new Prime won't ever be able to likewise retire at some future point in their life?

Who went back to being Prime because being a Prime is how we know him and is a permanent part of his identity.

Orion Pax is backstory made up for who he was (oh a dock worker or a data guy so a normal person!) before he was Prime.

Optimus Prime is who we fans will always see him as.

Let' get a Prime out of a guy who has not had spotlight in a long time instead of a overused character getting even more spot light or a character who would be ruined by becoming a Prime.

The only con on this list that could live up to the Prime name is Deathasaurs.

Only Autobots or neutrals have been Primes because Prime is a name usually associated with good characters not including those corrupt Primes from the past in IDW who were not even real Primes

A bad guy is not a real Prime Shockwave is not a Prime, Megatron is not a real Prime, Thunderwing is not a real Prime, and Deathsaurus is not a real Prime even if he has shown to care about his comrades he is part of the evil Decepticons.

Decepticons are the bad guys and I have had enough of evil bad guy Primes and would mean Optimus or Rodimus can be the only good Primes to exist.

It's like making Trump or Hilary the Presidant just because their the leader of Cybertron as a whole and not either faction doesn't matter they would be fake people lying about being a Prime

I agree the war may be over but ever decepticons on this list are still decepticons who are also monsters and don't deserve to be the leader,and their criminals. No I'm not taking this to serouis I'm only caring about something I enjoy. Bots who should be on this list are Windblade,Springer,Ironhide,and many others. If any decepticon deserves to win it's Deathsaurus,but I think if had someone crazy to win it should be Megatron. Even though it would not go well in the comics both Autobots and Decepticons alike would literally riot.

If the only choices are those in the poster, I'm Hound all the way, I like the character and I feel he needs a little spotlight FAR MORE than the others on the list.(even if Star Saber on HASBRO material is interesting by itself), besides, it would ve fresh, all others have had a leadership role before.
However, if there're more choices or we can suggest our own(which I doubt), I have to go with Jazz! he's the second in command in some continuities and he's one of the coolest characters in the whole mythos, and his presence carries respect and motivations for those under his command, I LOVED how in FoC, when Bruticus attacks the arc, everyone just runs and gives up, but as soon as Jazz arrives, they all recover their spirit just by seeing him joining the battle. :BOWDOWN:

Others I feel also deserve Primehood are Ironhide and Springer, maybe even Kup.

My vote is either Hound or Thunderwing. Hound because it's always comforting when the nice guy wins, and Thunderwing because of his precedence as a Matrix holder and because I want to see what happens when someone that brutal gets put in charge.

Also, I hope whoever wins gets saddled with a trailer in good old Rodimus Prime fashion. Especially if they don't have a ground-based vehicle mode. And especially if it's Primal. Just a big gorilla with a wagon. :lol:

IDW-wise, I could see this being implemented as whichever bot wins using the artifacts of the 13 to save the day somehow. I don't see Starscream getting dethroned over this, the Matrix is broken, and at least some of the 13 seem to be dead, so I'm betting their artifacts are what really come into play to help whichever of the less savory members of the 13 show up to wreak havoc in the comics. So I'm guessing the winner of the vote just gets a right place, right time one-off chance to save the day and then goes about their business.

If Star Saber were to win I'd think it'd be neat if they were to treat him as a new "Ultra Magnus", like a suit of armor built in his image and make Saber or the Brain of Courage (or preferably a new character) the current user of the armor and the Prime.

Hound actually has had a leadership role before; in Furman-era IDW he commanded his own little group which included Sideswipe, Warpath, Skram and Road Rocket. And much later during Dark Cybertron while both Magnus and Rodimus were off doing other things, he assumed control of the Lost Light.

I personally think Arcee, Hound, and Ultra Magnus are the best options. I still think Arcee is best as far as creativity though. I want another female Prime.
