Holy cow, this comic is amazing!! Backstory references to Car Robots, Kiss Players Position/15 Go! Go!, The Battle of the Star Gate, and more!

Allow me to try to clear up some confusion regarding the final panels at the end. Grand Scourge shows up wearing a Combatron symbol and when Baldigus sees him, he most likely mistakes Grand Scourge for his old boss Black Convoy.

As to why Grand Scourge is wearing a Combatron symbol, his toy came with several insignia decals, which included one with a Combatron symbol that he could wear in homage to Car Robots Black Convoy. For an in-fiction reason, I guess Grand Scourge can simply change his symbols to look like whatever he wants them to. After all, he is a guy that can cross dimensions and such. Maybe he simply has symbol-changing powers too. As to why he chose to wear the Combatron symbol, maybe he found out about CR Black Convoy's existence and similar appearance to himself, and learned about Baldigus having appeared in this comic's events, and so decided to wear the Combatron symbol so as to trick Baldigus into thinking that Grand Scourge is Black Convoy so that Grand Scourge can use Baldigus for his own purpose, whatever that may entail.

Yeah, I thought that was Grand Scourge. Makes sense, he came out as part of the same line (kinda)

I'm guessing the Takara Legends release of Unicron will also continue the comic?

But yeah that combiner port was my favourite part. It looked like it was made of raw energon. And plugging onto that planet reminds me of his look in that old G1 Unicron toy where he really is a head atop of a big planet ball.

I figured they are due to the "Platinum" re-release, and with him all over the place in their comics why wouldn't they? Takara likes money.

I have no idea though. Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeems like it?

What happens in the Platinum line doesn't affect or reflect whatever Takara does with their own lines.

For me one of the most frustrating things about collecting transformers is the lack of equality, especially when it comes to numbered series. Seems like the numbers never end evenly. I know since the very beginning Autobots (though generally smaller and weaker) have outnumbered the larger/fewer Decepticons. If Baldigus were to be the last, that would again leave an unbalance (5 good and 6 bad), but overall and when combined with all other CW, subscription services & exclusives it would be an even 20 (10 and 10), though Devastators disproportionate size would tip the balance slightly in favor of the Decepticons. So if this were truly *the end* of UW I guess I would be ok, though there is a lot of untapped potential. If, as some speculate, we start getting beast combiners near the end of 2017 with whatever line happens after TR ends, perhaps Takara will pick up the line again at that time. An optimum solution would be for TT to release a UW Raiden to scale with Devastator, but then again if a new Omega Supreme Titan class figure is ever made, it will probably be in the 18 inch range, made as Devastators true rival.

Well imagine that, Grand Scourge showed up just like I said he would all along. People said there was no chance since he's an e-Hobby exclusive and his comic was written by someone else so his ability to jump through universes wouldn't apply and it's a different Scourge anyway. Turns out I was right all along.

Interesting that Grand Scourge is suddenly sporting a Combatron symbol (which DID come with the figure). Let's see if Deadlock chases him into this story, too.

I hope Black Convoy/Scourge and Grand Scourge are kept separate characters but having said that it would explain why Black Convoy/Scourge wasn't present during the combatron execution pages

Though, in fairness to Ironhide, he'd previously appeared alive in an e-HOBBY comic set after G-2, so his lacking an explanation for being alive has been in effect for a while now.

We really need a translation of this thing, badly. There are a couple of things people are saying about this comic that make it sound like it's altering longstanding perceptions that the fandom has held for quite awhile. Namely things about Galvatron II and about Grand Scourge.

I've come to accept that the surest measure that something can and likely will happen is the degree to which the fandom is vocal about how it won't or can't happen. The greater certainty people have that something can't/won't, the more likely it is/will.

Anyway, I guess this comic addresses my question from yesterday about who or what set will come next . . . I guess? The answer is 'we don't know yet,' but apparently there's a to be continued in there, which means that the end may not be the end and

It's IDW Roller, yes. If not the physically the same IDW Roller from the IDW comics proper, then it's another universe version of him, much like how TFSS Chromedome and Rewind were alternate universe versions of IDW Chromedome and Rewind.

It can go both ways with the colouring since the alt mode is very similar looking to the G1 cartoon (and Takara MP toy).

Wandering Roller

Wanders the space between dimensions after being separated from his comrades in the heat of battle, he was originally a Cybertron warrior. Transforms into a 6-wheeled armored vehicle. Roller's spirit was destroyed by absolute solitude while awaiting rescue by his sole comrade. Believing himself abandoned by his trusted comrade, he became ruled by despair and self-condemnation to the point where he eventually carried strong malicious energy. That energy was sensed by Unicron, who brought him to this world. His memory is patchy due to his long wanderings, but he still bears an incredible hatred for the symbol of the Cybertrons: Supreme Commander Convoy.

Note that G1 Cartoon Roller was never a warrior. He (it?) was a little scout vehicle of limited or no intellect in the cartoon. Essentially a drone.

Also note that Sakamoto is the brains behind the UW fiction and also does has done work on MTMTE. He's a continuity nut who loves referencing things like this.
