Just a heads up, it looks great, but unless you have the P.E. feet, the sucker won't stand (maybe just mine).

I love me Mirage and Sunstreaker classics figures but never cared for the Prowl/Datsun moulds. So I plan on getting Prowl and think he looks pretty sweet. Won't be combining him though.

Are you only counting the US G1 cartoon? Piranhaking was also Scramble City, I believe, but was not in the US cartoon.

Yeah I was only counting US G1 Cartoon. But yeah he is scramble city...but also made up of animals. So 2 reasons for why we shouldn't expect him :(

If you're not stingy about alt modes or size, Generations CJ (the First Edition Prime mold with a classics head) is a pretty good fill in/update.

Anyway, back to Combiner Wars. I popped into a local target today and found a bunch of wave 1 voyagers, no deluxes, and a single Windcharger representing Legions. It was kind of pathetic.

sunstreaker and mirage, finally. prowl looks just like streetwise. what a waste. another bay ironhide? another waste. it's hilarious how people complain that the same characters keep getting used but rage when sideswipe and jazz aren't being used for the 100th time.

The local walmarts and target stores in my area are kind of in the same boat. I'm seeing a LOT of:
Armada Megatron
Voyagers Silverbolt/Optimus Prime

An occasional:
Legends class

Almost NO:
Deluxes

In Walmart especially, the Transformer shelves are almost bare of CW figures. There's a lot of RiD figures, but I ain't interested in them. I wants more deluxes/newer voyagers and to have the legend stock replenished. All the shipments seem to be only RiD figures, and Wave 1 CW voyagers. Bad form!

For the upcoming Combaticons, I sincerely hope that the change the head sculpt for Blast Off. I don't really mind him being a plane instead of a space shuttle - as long as the head sculpt matches the G1 look. The test shots and CG renders showing so far all show an Ariealbot head with a mouth. :( That's not Blast Off. Blast Off had a cool face mask covering his mouth, similar to Brawl, Vortex and Onslaught.

I hope the 'official' image is a placeholder, and that the actual Blast Off figure has a more G1 accurate head sculpt.

Speaking of Walmarts; most of the ones in my area have reduced their shelf space to about 2 feet with few pegs for Gen/CW deluxe, a few pegs for RID warriors, a few pegs for one steps, one facing for vayagers, one facing for leader and no legend or legion pegs. I've almost completely removed WMs from the hunt.

Target still has a decent showing and is my best bet for finding new stock. TRU is as random as always.

In my zone it all depends on which Walmart you go to. The ones with a higher sales volume have the stuff we are after. The other stores fit the previous descriptions. There are 2 Walmarts here where I have found the "good stuff", One I found Brainstorm, and Chromia, the other I found Arcee (granted these were months and months ago) and all of Defensor's limbs (about a month ago).

I have noticed too, the shrinking shelf space. Not only at Walmart, but Target too.
I have a theory, and it's name is Star Wars. All the new Star Wars stuff is coming.

I hope the new Star Wars toys are toyetic enough to sell lots of Product for Hasbro - but if they are not then they might find themselves lumbered with an apathetic consumer reaction.

I do think that Star Wars is likely to eat some shelf space up and might even make it hard to get Bruticus parts because of it in mid sized stores - It won't effect TRU much though as they'd have specific space for each thing. But a Target or Walmart or other more general stores that happen to stock toys might Overdose on Star Wars for sure.

I don't think it will just effect Transformers - it will likely make it hard to get any later Jurassic World toys they otherwise would have had around more too.

Personally I've seen nothing outstanding besides the large Tie Fighter to date. But it won't have much effect on me as my Local stores are already terrible at Stocking Transformers anyway so they can't get any worse short of stopping selling them completely.

Guess what else got fixed with Battle Core Optimus Prime?

https://instagram.com/p/6Fwj_ILSng/?taken-by=albnok

MAAAN can you imagine buying him just for the fixed gear? I've not disassembled any of them so I can't tell you what they changed internally, but they didn't change the angle of the thigh plate that folds up.

P.S. Bought in Malaysia, as usual patchy with none of the Wave 4 limbs in sight.

That toy has issues with it's ratchets but I never thought an inability to cross it's legs was at the top of such a list the inability to stand properly in Combined or standard robot mode is a lot more an issue and some people might say the same about the low number of teeth in the shoulders too before even noticing that.

I certainly wouldn't have as it's not something many Transformers can even do unless their hips are ball joints.

But it's an darn strange thing to "fix" Hasbro you are such oddballs sometimes.

Are you referring to my video? I was trying to show that Battle Core Optimus Prime had 5 clicks while Motormaster and Optimus Prime had 4. Nothing at all to do with crossing its legs LOL. Battle Core Optimus Prime gets the thigh angle right at 2 clicks, while Motormaster and Optimus Prime are supposed to be somewhere between 2 and 3 clicks, hence the inability to stand properly.

I think they're fine. Mirage and Ironhide are the only ones I'm going to buy though, because I've never cared about Prowl or Sunstreaker. A new Ratchet from the Offroad/First Aid mould would be great, but seeing as we already have First Aid I'm not expecting it to happen. To be honest though, I hope Combiner Wars stops after wave 6 (Sky Lynx, Trailbreaker, Wheeljack etc.) and the exclusive box sets are out, because it's risking a fall into stagnation.

Nope, it's my camera flash bouncing off the white cardboard "floor". I put him on my CPU behind my monitor, where the codpiece is in the shadows, and it's got less shine and more matte. However when I lift him up to the light, the codpiece glistens in bright gold.

The closest I can think of is Menasor's closed chest - it has silver windows that look matte or glisten, depending on the light.
