And since we got Spinister from Siege and Needlenose in Legacy, with Selects Windsweeper apparently coming, all we need is Ruckus for Thunderwing's crew. And of course Thunderwing himself. And he better be a voyager or a leader if they somehow manage to add some half-assed Pretender shell to a voyager or deluxe sized figure.

I would love to have a Thunderwing update as well - though it seems that since they're not doing shells it's probably just going to be based on the outer shell only...and since that transformed, they probably wouldn't have any details referencing the inner bot...
Though I'd still be happy to have a new Thunderwing figure, and I'm hoping it's more accurate to the original toy or the comics (I have a strange feeling it'd be the latter thanks to Jhiaxus), I have the older Generations figure and I'm just not a big fan of its look.

Even if Topspin was cut from the Wreckers set it's still probably their exclusive, I doubt it'll end up in Selects. Not like Amazon isn't going to do another exclusive set this year.

I remember clearly that back around the time we first heard about Minerva, maybe even before, there was a leak that said we'd be getting Headmasters Juniors in Legacy. I think it was Nightbeat and Hosehead at retail and Siren in Selects and I believe there was mention of Goshooter as well.

Just checked and Nemesis Primal did a follow in March 2022:

So a late 2023 Selects Siren followed by the other two in 2024 is still a possibility.

I have the TFSS from a while back, and while I love that figure (I love the CW jet molds in general) a modern update would be appreciated, much like Crankcase's new figure. Hopefully this means Ruckus will be updated too.

I'm betting Windsweeper will be from the Needlenose mold and doubtful it will have working "trigger" action considering Crankcase didn't. As for Ruckus... I'd say that's a strong possibility since we're getting a Deluxe Beachcomber this year and transformation and mold are basically the same. Of course it'll probably be an Amazon or Target Exclusive and also won't have "trigger" action either. And if we get Ruckus, let's hope Hasbro has plans to eventually give us the Triggerbots: Dogfight, Backstreet, and Override.

Re: Ruckus from Deluxe Beachcomber - great thought. That mold would also work as a Joyride & Sureshort re-tool & re-deco.

Wait, Medix IS Walgreens-exclusive? Does that make him leaking that early a new record for them?

Indifferent on Windsweeper, undecided on Antagony (also her releasing here messes up my theory for that mystery Walmart capsule), and I can't make a decision based off just the description of "G1 Headmaster". Maybe people will stop talking about Selects dying now though!

Few things to remember about this:
-Yes, rumors and listings of Minerva came well after the rumors for rest of the Headmaster JRs, leading us to all assume she'd be a Nightbeat retool when her listing showed up and then be confused when no Nightbeat appeared in the store leaks
-The initial rumors of the Headmaster Jrs specified that the Selects Siren would be a retool of Nightbeat (much to the chagrin of the accuracy-valuing portion of the community at the time), so if Siren is that mystery listing then either it'd be the first time a Selects figure preceded the original mold, or Siren is no longer based off of that mold
-Goshooter was never at any point rumored like those others, just speculated, because people went "Siren-from-Nightbeat doesn't make sense, maybe there's a retail Goshooter that'll actually be the basis for it"

This.

Not bad for reuse of Crankcase and I'm tempted to get. That said I'm slightly unnerved they made him before First Aid. lol

I'm guessing he'll be able to take part in forming Defensor? I realize this is Rescue Bots release but Medix was a backup Protectobot.
The Skids/Burn Out/Crankcase/Crosscut/Medix mold isn't built for combining.

Still, if we go way back at Combiners Wars, the :HASBRO: box sets always came with a legends/scout figure. G2 Superion came with Powerglide, Computron came with a new "Cosmos", and so on. So I wonder what T30 Legends would have come with a Defensor box set? That little guy could have been Medix. Maybe as a T30 Legends Swerve/Gears repaint?

We already know the legends for Defensor from Hasbro. A G2 Defensor would have had Groove as the legends figure and Rook as the leg since deluxe Groove was a Takara thing.

Knowing that Medix is the Walgreens exclusive makes me think Hasbro is running out of doctor characters. Micromaster Fixit (with Seawatch) from Pipo (and Boater) are the first ting to come to mind that might work, I think most of us agree that that set isn't technically part of HasLab. Throw in another character to bring the price up? Or Paradron/lifeline Medic from SS86 Arcee? Or CatSCAN from SS ROTB Cheetor? Those are the only easy ones I can think of. There's a ton of them listed on TFWiki, but most of those are either more obscure than even Medix, too hard to translate into figures, or evil.

Yeah, a Selects figure getting the jump on the retail use is the only thing that holds that theory back. If it does happen maybe we can just credit it to the timing of things being pushed back? Yeah, it's starting to feel less likely, BUT I still don't think it'll be Topspin, I think Amazon still has the rights to that figure.

I only know about Antagony because she was the Botcon exclusive at the first convention I attended back in 1998. That was an awesome show. Lots of BW actors and creators. I remember the script reading being especially fun that year.

Of course, they strayed from that with Bluestreak after Ratchet started the trend, so maybe they don't have to be emergency vehicles, but that's their preference.

Heck, I'm just geeked we're still getting any exclusives because Walgreens was supposedly getting out of that game.

Why would Amazon get exclusive rights to something that was just a redeco? There was no new tooling inovolved.

They would just have temporary ownership of the specific figure, not the mold or anything like we saw with Netflix Bee and Soundwave. This is assuming of course that Hasbro actually offered it to Amazon in the first place, but I know there was speculation that he was held back for a series 2 after Twintwist ended up being the only single packed Deluxe.

sol magnus wrote:Heck, I'm just geeked we're still getting any exclusives because Walgreens was supposedly getting out of that game.

That was entirely on Scott Neitlich once again becoming highly reactionary to small changes in the industry. He basically said because this one guy he knows that worked on getting exclusives for Walgreens left that Walgreens was definitely done with them and used the lack of of them in stores in 2021 as proof, entirely ignoring that we were over two years into a pandemic that had distribution screwed up everywhere when he said that and that Marvel Legends exclusives WERE in stores in 2021 (saw them myself).

And yes, I totally forgot about Bluestreak at Walgreens.

Incidentally, Deluxe Wreck-Gar still holds the record on longest time we've known about a Walgreens exclusive. He was found in a computer listing in July 2017 and not found in stores until October 2018 (he was found in Asia in July 2018)

The Headmaster could be a Horri-Bull retool of Skullcruncher. Or would that be more likely for the Buzzworthy line?

Is there any chance it's a reissue of Arcee or Grotusque? Admittedly it's not labeled PR, which has me leaning towards "no", but OTOH they were Hasbro exclusives so maybe they wouldn't get that label.

On the topic of more medic characters for Walgreens exclusives - I wonder if they'd dip into Decepticon medics. Yeah they're the baddies and probably would feel out of place...but I just really would like a figure of Flatline.

In selects, I don't think Horri-bull would work since they have all been just redecos without new tooling (aside from Black Zarak).

However a re-release of Arcee or Grotesque without the die cast headmaster would indeed be a new package and not a refresh, so one of those could work.

Is there a color requirement as well for the Walgreens Exclusives? Even though they may be running out of medic type characters there's still First Aid, and all of the Protectobots really in that sense.

That said they have also have done non medic characters such as Silverstreak.

If only... Grotusque more than Arcee, but I'll take either.

Regarding Black Zarak, I wouldn't be surprised if his new parts were already built into the Scorponok tooling, making an easy switchout.

I too want a Flatline figure

That was entirely on Scott Neitlich once again becoming highly reactionary to small changes in the industry. He basically said because this one guy he knows that worked on getting exclusives for Walgreens left that Walgreens was definitely done with them and used the lack of of them in stores in 2021 as proof, entirely ignoring that we were over two years into a pandemic that had distribution screwed up everywhere when he said that and that Marvel Legends exclusives WERE in stores in 2021 (saw them myself).

And yes, I totally forgot about Bluestreak at Walgreens.

I shot a review of Quasar and showed in the video the piles of Quasars they had at the store around the corner from my house to show him he just lives in North Carolina. And yes, I did hear that from him.

I'd be curious to see the new headsculpt for Antagony. I can also see Nightbeat following Minerva, with irony switched to maximum.

UPDATE: According to a combination of info some other guy got from a Chinese retailer and corroboration from JTPrime, "G1 Headmaster" is mostly likely short for "G1 Headmasters Universe Pointblank", and it's Pointblank with the head design from Headmasters/his original toy instead of his Sunbow/Rebirth head, not an actual figure/character who is a Headmaster.

Interesting :-? Aside from the head, was there any other colour differences?
