Pointblank: this is a surprisingly unique and good figure. For one thing, he is surprisingly big, i think to keep him consistent with Crosshairs since he used a big deluxe too. The arms are forgiveable in person, especially with as nice as he feels. He is solid and a lot of fun. I love the head sculpt. The transformation is logical but has some nice steps to make the car work. And the car mode is really fun. It is really slick and good. And the targetmaster also fits in nicely, looking decent as a gun and working nice in car mode. It is a nice package, I like him a lot. I'd rank him my 2nd favorite of the wave.
With those arms? Really???
Yeah, I like him. He's fun. I'll share more later.

Do you think so? Maybe as toys they can be considered equal, but this Skullgrin is much more himself than the original. I appreciated the effort back in the day, but it really is just Straxus with a new head. This is a true mixture of Skullgrin's Pretender shell and his inner robot mode. As someone who had the original I really appreciate this new take. It's a shame the Autobot Pretenders are so vanilla. Maybe we'd see more of them if they had more interesting shells.
As a toy ... I don't get the rubber plastic and it weakens it overall.
I do think so. They're about equal in playability, and while Legacy is more himself, the old one had a better shape and I liked that head proportion better. The new one is a bit too square for my liking, especially compared to the core Pretenders. He's my favorite Pretender, and I own every toy of his, so I speak this from that perspective.
