I do think some myself included raised an eyebrow about Galvatron as a Headmaster (notice how hardly anyone ever calls them Titanmasters very often)
as He has show an explicit dislike for them in more than one source.

The thing that people don't seem to have jumped on yet - which also puzzles me - if the heads themselves - look like the character in some cases rather than the Nebulons of yor.

So If Galvatron's head looks like Megatron - what on earth am I supposed to make of that when Optimus' looks like Hi Q. Perhaps if Optimus had the ability to store a folded head in his chest cover or hsi head looked more like Rollar - I might be more enthused or perhaps they can sell a Roller set with a mini-vehicle suitable for use with Optimus and a head that looks like Roller.

But the whole character with heads that look like themselves thing is a tad confusing to me I will admit.

------

As for Squeezeplay and co - I can see 3rd parties doing something to address the missing Bodies - perhaps making a whole figure of those characters - but with the same type of head connection Hasbro use so you can mix and match if you wanted too.

I wonder if it's feasible to invent a joint that is reversible that can take G1 Headmaster Nebulons as well as the new kind of TitanMasters too ?

The idea of the heads looking like a smaller version seems to be influenced by the transectors of Japanese g1, so these smaller heads are (in fiction) supposed to be normal sized but then they can combine with their gigantic transectors to take on huge threats. In a way to visualise this, think of iron man and the hulk buster armour...If the hulk buster armour was a lot bigger

I've been thinking about it and since this whole lines focus is supposed to be mix and match heads I wonder if Hasbro/Takara won't release bodies for the four I mentioned above. But instead of just a body they'll make it a whole new character, that way fans of the originals will be happy and fans of mix and match heads/new characters will be happy.

If they ever release the bodies for those heads, I am certain that it will be the way you say it. I am ready to bet my house that there is no way in hell Hasbro proper would sell a headless body at retail.

Hellscream9999 wrote:Well, I'm sure they're going to get around to doing the other heads, remember these were rushed out at sdcc b/c of the leaked art, so more are sure to come.

What you mention is just a fan theory that I believe holds no water. Hasbro is a big company with a lot going on and stuff like this would be planned months in advance (toys have at least a two year cycle). No way would they rush to production a few samples because someone put up the wrong poster. Also, they werent shown at SDCC but rather at the later New York event. SDCC was when Victorion was revealed.

This right here. I would love the original roster, especially since all the Autobot headmasters (including nightbeat and that lot) save Hardhead are Lost Light crewmembers, which is awesome cause I love being able to build up my crew. I'm thinking of going back and actually buying Huffer, Pipes, Crosscut, Gears and Hoist cause I originally passed on them buy now kinda want them.

And additional guys: okay. I really would like a Mainframe and Perceptor headmaster, since both of those I could see working. :BOT:

Chiming in here too: I think the heads sold independently with the little mini-vehicles will serve as alternate heads. So we could get a Hardhead as a head alone but as a different head, like using the mouth that he has almost always used. So you could use his toy head or his titan master backup head. It's possible :BOT:

That would be interesting. If they're going to keep doing stand alone heads I would like to see them do those unreleased(?) ones from the original Japanese line.

Would be nice. I'd love the option to put in alternative heads. I want Siren and Nightbeat something fierce, not just a head. :BOT:

But you could just stick Nightbeat's head onto Galvatron though, that's close enough, right?

(or you could put his head on anybody else and pretend that it's 'undercover nightbeat'...) ;)

New Images of Transformers Titans Return Blaster Prototype with Scale Comparisons

Postby william-james88 » Thu Dec 31, 2015 7:51 am

Motto: "'till All Are One"
A little while ago, we had seen a image of a prototype for the upcoming Transformers Generations Titans Return Leader Blaster. New images of this prototype have arisen on TF fan Doubleclouder's photobucket. These new photos give us an idea of how Blaster scales with previously released figures. We also get a shot of his inner legs. Enjoy!

Not really. we've seen how big the speakers are in his tape deck mode. I already figured that the panels would have to fold around the legs like that.

That third image down is awesome! As much as I love CW Ultra Magnus, I was bummed that Minimus couldn't sit in the cab in truck mode. Because PW OP is a Headmaster (*ahem*, sorry Titan-Master!) the head won't be in the way for the figure to sit in the cab, it appears. Nice pointing that out, WJ88! ;)^

No problem, I quite liked that as well. I am curious to see how much inside the cab has been remolded and what the new details are (too bad it is still all simply sculpted though with no paint bringing out the detail).

And I feel your pain with how bg Blaster is but that cements a theory that I think is pretty much fact now: generations operates within several scales simultaneously.

We had the deluxes and voyagers for a while and some legends scaling with the rest as well. But when they released legends prime, megatron and the seekers, it was pretty clear that there was a sub scale with the legends class (which is different from the previous legion class which also has all those characters). Shockwave fits with those as well.

And now we have another scale within the Generations line with the leaders. Of course, Jetfire and Ultra Magnus scale perfectly with the voyagers and deluxes and some legends but the leader seekers sure dont.

So now we hve this leader class scale for some generations figures like the Seekers, Megatron and now Blaster who will scale with them and not the deluxes and voyagers (or combiners). That means Soundwave will be there too soon once he is remolded from Blaster.

So yeah if you are wondering where he fits, Blaster fits on a shelf battling Megatron and the Seekers.

Here are the 3 scales within generations now:

PM/Titan Wars Prime looks really nice, accepting the new era of hollowness as a given now, but why Hasbro, WHY NOT PAINT THE WHEELS? I want to see how Takara blings him up (or is it out? :-? ).

Anyway, all things considered, I like him much better than Voyager Combiner Wars Optimus, and at least this HeadMaster gimmick is closer to the G1-toy's lineage than a combining feature ever was, and he'll be more proportional, and have a real, integrated trailer. What's not to like about that?

As long as the hollowness is at least somewhat less obvious I don't really mind. Being that they're reasonably priced toys and not actual aliens doesn't leave a whole lot of room (no pun intended) for completely seamless engineering.

Even though the size is a little off putting, I'm liking the look of big Blaster. I'm guessing it's a safe assumption that the titan master helmet will be cast in clear plastic on the final production figure?

Blaster looks a bit too big scale next to Magnus, Blaster's head looks bigger than Magnus' and just seems odd. I really want Blaster as a Voyager but I've said that enough now.

Haven't been into collecting Combiner Wars or the vast majority of Generations but that Powermaster Prime is getting bonus points with me everytime I see another new image of it. Might just be the childhood part of me still wanting a better proportioned, much more articulated version of what was a fave toy (that I still own) but yeah he's tempting.
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool! :)

Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron
