Anyone else getting a little worried that for Sky Shadow there's only a render of one Titan Master, and in the interaction renders it only shows one Titan Master?

He's based on Overlord - a jet and a tank that combine into one robot, much like the Duocons.
It's not broken.william-james88 wrote:EDIT: Sorry sureshot, I realize you included a pic in your post but I cant see it for some reason, it appears broken.

Getaway is boring but the engine detail on the Headmaster is a nice touch.
Triggerhappy looks cool, I'm digging the jet mode especially.

Perceptor....umm...ok...but...where's his tank alt mode?
Overlord...his base mode just looks like a fan mode
loving Kickback

I get the feeling they're saving his jet mode for another time, but if he does indeed have it, I think this figure may be the most extensive and insane retool ever. Also, Perceptor seem to have some tank tread molding, so I'm sure if he doesn't have one, there's bound to be a good fanmode.

Think of it this way NYC, did kids know who these characters were back in 86? There were a ton of toys that werent even on the show and they still sold. Kids just want cool toys and that is what Hasbro is banking on here. The brand is big enough to be sold on its name alone, to both parents and kids, so they dont need people to know the characters to buy them. The line sells quite well so far. However, I will admit that the toy to sell best so far at the stores I have seen is Leader Optimus. So yes, name recognition does still play a role, but its more of a extra than a must. The truth si that Hasbro wants today's kids to experience G1, and new characters they dont know is part of that
It will all work out

Would you mind showing me his official tank mode, because I think you are referring to his mobile laboratory mode, which is what the image you placed also shows. His actual tank mode was only part of the microchange line and looks like the pic below, not the one in the official image:
This is a mobile laboratory, not a tank mode.
Unless people mean mobiel laboratory when they mention "tank mode". But then, what do you call his actual tank mode?

I am right there with you. Its like the uncanny valley, the closer it looks to an 80s toy, the weirder it gets. I guess this comes to show that fans dont realyl wnt what they say they want (or else 3p companies would be out of business since they rarely give us an 80s toy aesthetic and fans are their primary target).Kurona wrote:Anyone else getting a little worried that for Sky Shadow there's only a render of one Titan Master, and in the interaction renders it only shows one Titan Master?
I now believe he only comes with 1, which makes his display yesterday super misleading. Although it makes sense he had 2 totan masters on display since there were 3 of him there.
But hey, thats why Titan Masters are also sold individually.Black Hat wrote:Broadside's jet mode is just pfffttthahahaahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no.

I like all the points you bring up. Its like our opinions are in synch (same like when I first met Kurona here). Yeah, the jet mode is bad, and I wonder if its better or worse than G1 which was absoultely terrible:
Transformers G1 1986 Broadside Gallery
I like what they do with the cockpit though and its the back of it that we see on his robot chest. It looks better than the original toy.
And hey, Alpha Trion has 2 subpar alt modes, at least this gy only has 1 with a really good other one.
I also felt the same about Getaway. When I saw that deail on his crest, I started wanting him (dont know if that feeling will stay). And I love Triggerhappy's jet mode. They found a way tohave everything there without it looking too busy or clunky.
SureShot18 wrote:The picture on the packaging of the Universe reissue is of the mobile laboratory but it labels it as a tank mode so technically it is also a tank mode. Sabrblade also gave another picture Seibertron's galleries that better show what I am talking about. Also the picture worked fine for me.
