by the way six shot has hit the shelves in Ireland. along with all of wave 3 deluxes and legends (finally , was starting to think it'd do a combiner wars on us here where we got a VERY sparse selection of the sky reign limbs - and skylynx never showed at all).

avaliable only in toymaster so far (though ya can get the wave 3 deluxes in smyths no prob. theyve a ridiculous amount of combiner wars leader starscreams and skywarps for some reason.)

I pestered UK Smyth about their Combiner Wars Leaders they keep complaining about them being out of stock in the warehouse and not available to delivery - yet they have an unreasonable amount of them in stores - I really don't want to traipse miles out of my way to pick them up and £25 is about the most i'd pay for those guys and only reason I'd buy them at all is because they form a mini-line with Megatron and the other bigger characters that makes them more useful now than than they were before.

Though i'm tempted to just go the ebay route with them anyway as I really don't want to overpay for a mould that I consider that the ruined by removing the back hinge present on Jetfire.

Overlord's chest face thing is now going to remind me of a really bad episode of Doctor Who.

So given the distinct absence of a Minerva from either Hasbro or Takara, I thought I'd have a stab at modeling my own TM faceplate in Blender to be made with Shapeways. I tried with two different methods...without success.




I wanted to ape the Legends art-style for the face, but alas my meager 3D modeling skills resulted in the hideous homunculi you see before you.

Maybe I should just buy a Nightbeat, carve off the existing face and handsculpt a better one. I'm actually a semi-competent sculptor so there's less chance it'll come out looking like...that.

Thats why I bought them all. We now have the entire cast of the Decepticons from the first few episodes of G1

Anyway, went to several Targets & Wal Marts. Was encouraged to see more wave 3 come back in stock in some places, also saw the repack wave and all the Chromedome's had the standard Hasbro head. Finally saw a Voyager Prime in the wild (at Target), though it was not on my purchase list. Now all I need to see are Voyager Megatron, legends Kickback & Gnaw, and of course, the only one I want to purchase - Leader Sixshot. Also saw a Soundwave at Target for the first time, only about 2 weeks after seeing it at Wal Mart.

So something weird happened yesterday. I bought Powermaster Prime and was transforming him when a screw feel out. The weird thing us that I can't seem to find where it came from, and the figure doesn't seem to have any issues. Is there anyone else who's had this happen to them?

So Misfire's head IS grey! Fantastic news! I was thinking the one at Toyfair was a colouring error considering the blotch of black it had... but yes, excellent. That was the major problem so I'm glad to see it no longer exists.

Misfire doesn't have a pink head! Man, I know those are renders, but those are great looking figures. I can't wait for them.

By the way guys, Griffin was told by hasbro at the show that Misfire is wave 5 and slugslinger is wave 6.

Take it all with a grain of salt.

I'm totally fine with these two being retools and will gladley eat them up,um... buy them.

So if they were hand painted at the show, maybe the production run will get Misfire's head color right.

Makes *possible* sense. If wave 5 is Twintwist, Misfire, possibly Windblade, and a repack from a previous assortment

Hell, I actually prefer the three of these being retools - at least in my eyes these dudes are basically 1987's seekers so I like them having some uniformity, and sharing the same basic engineering and legs therefore works really well for me. Like I said, it's basically the Seekers. If the seekers were good.

Maybe it's because I love sci-fi in general (doctor who was basically my childhood), maybe it's because I grew up with the Unicron Trilogy; but I find I kinda prefer Cybertronian modes when they're done right to Earth modes. There's so many ways they could go wrong and lazy (Fortress Maximus, Scourge, TFP Megatron...) but when they're done right? When they're your Hot Rods and Cyclonuses and Triggerhappys? Oh MAN is it good! I especially love how they're being done here because unlike the rest of the line, it's not just 'G1 but also we have some articulation', they're actual proper updates with more streamlined transformations and bodies and vehicle modes that don't suffer from Aerialbot syndrome and then they added that feature to Triggerhappy where he can flip his big guns over his hands... I really think I'll have to pick up all three. I love them. I love all of them so much.

And don't get me wrong, the seekers are an absolute classic design and I don't think it's a stretch to say they're one of the franchise's most iconic. But... man, I dunno. Outside of the CW Leaders (and now I'm getting EXTREMELY contrary), I find it hard to really get into them and I'll generally just get them out of mandatory shelf-filling. ... and also because Starscream and Thundercracker are amazing characters.
But the Targetmaster Decepticons I feel just do it right. They share the same basic transformation and certain design details but pull off completely different silhouettes and shapes. You can tell there's a uniformity to them yet they all do something unique that makes each one a completely new treat compared to just buying a black and purple Starscream. There's certain things here that could be better and I would change - Misfire having two red eyes, give them better guns - but all in all I feel myself far more satisfied looking at these dudes than I do the seekers. Unpopular opinions ho!

Again, the reveal of the product codes show that's true:

Misfire: C2393, in line with the "C23**" of the rest of wave 4
Slugslinger: C3250, a new series "C32**" which is indicative of a new wave

C2393 happens to be part of the ID "gap" I mentioned a few pages back, with C2392 to C2395 being unassigned atm.

I am 100% sure it will. I am now also hoping that it means we will get tampos rather than stickers.

Wonder who'll be in it... Obvious answer would be the Autobot Targetmasters but wouldn't Sureshot and Pointblank require new molds? I can see Crosshairs out of Kup but I really don't see how we could get the other two without Scourge > Highbrow or Triggerhappy > Slugslinger/Misfire level changes.

At least for the Deluxes. The intent is there, but we'll have to see how the rest will pan out.

Obviously the Hasbro Transformers Team have not reached "Total Brand Awareness".

Anyone else kinda iffy on the eyes on Slugslinger's Titan Master? Looks like they got it right on the TM's robot mode but changed it up for the head mode.

This pic is slightly misleading though, since it doesnt show you the alt modes biggest flaw: the arms are not hiden in any way. The fact that the wings are swung forward and centrally located mean that you end up having unhidden arms.



Still a nice starship, but I really wish they could hide away the arms to make it look sleeker, at least from the top.

A sixth wave was alwys gonna happen though since we knew POTP would only happen in Jan 2018.

Here's hoping that leader Deathsaurus rumour for wave 6 is real!
