Well she was a velociraptor, right? So would you be satisfied with a red and gray Kingdom Dinobot with a new head? That wouldn't be much of a stretch for Hasbro. Highly doubtful, though.
My preference would be a ER Cliffjumper-style deluxe, maybe with some extra accessories like Grimlock's sword to pad it out a bit. Never gonna happen, though.

Slash and Paddles (or G1-ified Scorn =P~ ) Leader Two-pack would be a dream come true for me, as would a Deluxe / Voyager Payload be in SS.

I think Paddles and Slash as the two pack, with Scorn as a separate leader would perfect. Scorm could use that budget to do somethin cool with the sail on his back :-D

She wasn't in TFTM.
So? Neither was Snarl, right?
Yes he was. In three shots (one of which was in error while the other two were believable).

How many times promises were broken again?

Regardless, it would be logical to see the Dinobots happen in the course of a few years rather in one go. They may also very well hop around the Generations and SS lines as they come out.

Leaks aren't promises. :P

Oh, also, forgot to mention something. Even though the narrative seems to be that SS86 came about because Hasbro decided to add Beast Wars to WFC, this likely wasn't a last minute decision. Whenever the decision came about it was early enough that they could reengineer the designs to remove 5mm holes from the bot modes and any 3mm posts for blast effects (even Unicron has those). It's not like they took readymade from the Kingdom line and plopped them down into SS wholesale. This also means it's likely there are some characters that were never designed for Kingdom in the first place. That's the impression I get from Grimlock and the rest of the Dinobots anyway since they would have taken up a lot of slots in a single year line.

Oh, also when looking some stuff I was reminded that the Coronation Starscream figure is rumored to be scheduled for 2022 so there's your second year. Whether Hasbro intended for SS86 to be a one year thing or multiyear, ultimately they're going to do whatever makes money.

No one ever said it was a last minute decision, after a it was done well before any promotional work was even started and was likely when they had started planning part 3. So it was never as last minute as Siege Wave 5.

As for the Dinobots, I can believe that they may have been planned at one point for a release pattern like the constructicons. Heck maybe they would have been the last Titan release before the split happened and someone said about the Ark ;)

Seeing him side-by-side with the Titans Return version, I have to say, I think the TR version's proportions are better.
The legs and feet on the new one look dumpy. The torso is too broad. The shoulders sit too low on the figure. Look how much higher his head is than his arms. The way the boxes on the shoulders sit is weird looking. The head is an odd choice ... it's like they're going for animation accurate, but not to the movie, but some random off model AKOM episode.

The TR figure was actually a pretty solid toy ruined by the line's two gimmicks at the time — the headmaster/pop-up mask and the insistence that all voyagers be triple changers. Eliminate the jet mode nose/cockpit, put a better helmet on him, and you have a pretty decent figure.

That's not to say the new one doesn't have some improvements. The cannon looks better and even though the head is an odd choice, it's still better that the TR mess.

For real life, yes, this past year has been weird and upsetting. But in terms of Transformers releases, we've gotten some amazing figures over the past 12 months. This should be a joyous time to be a Transformers fan, particularly a fan of G1.

That is sort of my exact point. It is a great time to be a TF fan, but with nothing else to do for many, that joy can turn to obsession and can turn into complaints. Not because the toys are that worthy of the complaints, but more so because there isn't much else to occupy our time.

I look at it this way, if I had a normal social schedule, I'd be on this site easily 50% less than I currently am. By extension, that would mean fewer comments or complaints from me. If a significant number of users on this site are in the same boat, that adds up to a lot more comments and/or complaints than in a normal year. And it isn't just here, I see this trend across most social media.

G1 Comics Galvatron is G1 TOY colored?
Well, the gray was more tinted blue back then, but yes.

Hmm that image looks familiar :-D

Regardless, I've always thought that was a point of contention with the G1 Comic Galvatron colour scheme. Was the tint supposed to imply he was chrome and not just grey? I mean his face was certainly dark grey, consistently, like the toy. But then....

Again, just like the purple, the aesthetic seems to be all over the place. :???:

Not really an argument as much as a point of discussion. I mean this is not like the occasional odd bit like rereleasing TR Soundwave in the BB Movie Line, or some random SS in the Buzzworthy Line. These are taking whole assortments of toys intended for WFC, and throwing them in SS, because "reasons". Sure most of the online community gets it, but there are a lot of people that dont.

I've fully accepted it for what it is, but I don't have to be ok with it. It also forces some odd things such as the aforementioned "smoothing" of some toys (the SS86 toys have fewer 5mm ports to be more in the line's aesthetic).

Also, while I doubt Cyclonus will appear in Netflix's Kingdom Animated series, the "split" automatically disqualifies Scourge from appearing in the series. Also I find it hilarious that they put Scourge in the SS86 line, and fully state he is made form the remains of Thundercraker, but they didn't do it for Cyclonus to avoid the whole Skywarp/Bombshell debate ;) (even though Flint Dille already settled it...)

Lastly, to keep this thread on track. I fully believe now I am being trolled by scalpers. I've been to multiple stores now, Walmarts and Targets, and I'm seeing one-to-Three Arcee's at all of them, yet not a single Ractonite, Huffer, or Airazor in sight... :BANG_HEAD:

I personally hope that Swoop is still leader class... Seemed to me that in robot mode all of the Dinobots were very close in height. Of course shape and scale shifting for alt modes yada yada...
I'm okay with a large pterodactyl mode... What I don't want is Swoop to look like OP standing next to the others.
If they could at least make him larger than the current voyagers I'd be good with that.
I'm confident that they will make all 5 Dinobots. And since Snarl is my favorite, I'm hoping his limited screen time in the movie doesn't affect the decision on making him.

I'll agree that leaked news, specifically about a new Starscream, does make it seem like SS86 will continue beyond '21. Of course, Hasktak is going to do whatever helps make more money, and again I'd argue this line is helping them make that happen.

Looking again at Galvatron, the shoulders also look a bit too big. This may be partially because the upper torso is so large, in-turn making the shoulders also spaced out and really broad. But I suppose if the shoulders were smaller, the upper torso then could appear even larger and more out of proportion.
I'm definitely interested to see the toy version color scheme.

Also, as someone else has mentioned, distribution at least around here has sunk again...
Thought it seemed to be getting back on track, but the last few weeks have proved otherwise.

A swoop that is not too complex and cheat with hollow bits can still be a voyager as imposing as a leader class. The voyagers Megatrons are proof enough.

Plus, if they are shifting characters between this and SS'86, Terrorsaur could be a nice retool of a potential Swoop.
