Transformers have appeared across a number of TV shows, movies and series - and as of last night (in the US) it looks like they have a tasty place in food TV as well, as Food Network TV's Cake Wars features a new episode dedicated to the Cybertronians, which aired last night! If this is your sort of thing, catch up with the program until November 3rd, and join Hasbro's Simon Waters in judging the sweet Energon goodies. While we're on the topic of Masterpiece toys - what Decepticons will be getting the MP treatment next? How closely do our wants match the cold possibilities of reality? We all have our hopes and aspirations, none too realistic - heck, a new Masterpiece Optimus seems more likely.

Continuing on the Masterpiece train, we tackle part of a listener question from Skullcrunchberries. Can there ever be a perfect toy representation of a character? What are some examples we could think of, and what makes them so? The long layoff of comics talk ends as we take a look at both Transformers #57 and More Than Meets The Eye #57, which end the Titans Return arc leading in to Revolution. Plot points, reading orders, production, and more come up, and even the not-so-obvious backstory of one particular Decepticon. Plus, find out why in this particular universe, there's no debating that the Space Chicken's name is indeed Deathsaurus!

The Revolution is here - and we're excited to see Hasbro's interconnected comics universe take flight. Or at least, we were. Is this crossover event coming at the expense of some of the things that have made TF comics great the last few years? Yes, actually, it's pretty forgettable. Dire Wraiths just aren't interesting, but at least Josh Boyfriend might help the Revolution: Transformers one-shot title temporarily lift us up.
That's why I changed my name.
Now for something completely different: what makes the definitive version of a character from the fictional standpoint, and how does the idea of a character transform (pun intended!) over multiple iterations? The crew digs deep into Sparkler Mini-bots, and of course, our favorite despotic Decepticon leader once more.

Remember that news about legal action being taken against Paramount on behalf of Chinese businesses for stuff that went down during Transformers: Age of Extinction? We have an update, courtesy once again of The Hollywood Reporter: the media company will indeed have to pay a settlement to the Wulong Karst National Park. Read more below!
A Chinese court on Thursday ordered Viacom's Paramount Pictures and a Chinese production partner to pay $295,000, or 2 million yuan, including incurred legal fees, to a tourist resort in a breach of contract dispute over product placement in Transformers: Age of Extinction.
The court in Chongqing found that Paramount and Chinese partner 1905 failed to fulfill their major obligations under the agreement, but later partially made up for it, the South China Morning Post reported, quoting China National Radio.
The management company for the Wulong Karst National Geological Park had brought the lawsuit, saying the two sides had agreed that a logo of the resort would appear in the fourth Transformers film's final edit.
The defendants had admitted that the logo didn't make the film, but they tried to make up for that by allowing director Michael Bay to make an advertising spot for the resort and leaving behind items built for the film as tourist attractions.
The court rejected a counter claim filed by Paramount due to Wulong Karst’s decision to only pay part of the agreed-upon fees once it found out its name and logo did not appear in the film.

These two are primed for aquatic combat. Seaspray and Octopunch are making their way through the Space Bridge this weekend!
Seaspray In many ways, Seaspray found his spiritual home on planet Earth, or rather, its oceans.
With no comparable medium on Cybertron, he broke new ground - relishing the newfound freedom of movement and sheer expanse of his territory.
Though well equipped for naval combat, Seaspray's hovercraft mode is vulnerable to enemy fire, and one direct hit would send him to the bottom of the ocean - forever. Whirlwind
Summon a devastating tornado that moves to target location dealing damage every second. Stuns and interrupts defenses.
Octopunch Built for sub-aquatic combat, Octopunch has a passive-aggressive approach to battle.
In other words, he's prone to play a waiting game, drifting serenely and non threateningly before striking with the speed of a manta ray, punching holes in the hull of any passing vessel.
Anything he can sink is fair game, and Octopunch loves nothing more than to pick over his personal wrecks, salvaging what he can.
Whirlwind
Summon a devastating tornado that moves to target location dealing damage every second. Stuns and interrupts defenses.
