Hasbro has updated their
Transformers Website with a Q & A for the week of February 2nd
Q: Is there a packaging error with the ENERGON DIVEBOMB toys? Many have been found with handles on both ENERGON weapons and others only with one handle and one blade.
A: The US version of DIVEBOMB will continue to be shipped with handles on both pieces of the ENERGON weapons. The versions with one handle and one blade were a small launch production and will not be available going forward.
Q: Hasbro mentioned on the December 1, 2003 news posting that the TRANSFORMERS ENERGON OPTIMUS PRIME’S face-plate will be changing to more closely match the program animation. When will this variation be available in stores and what changes should one look for to ensure purchase of the modified version?
A: The OPTIMUS PRIME with updated face-plate will be recognizable by a code embossed onto the package. Please look for an embossed 40331 on the back of the package if you want to make sure you are purchasing the updated version of OPTIMUS PRIME.
Boxes without any code may be either version.
Q: Does the running change not happening with WHEELJACK affect the changed POWERLINX THRUST (in red, instead of the tan/blue of the one on shelves right now) since they were rumored to be shipping together?
A: We were hoping to be able to release the red THRUST in ARMADA, but were unable to make the change in time. We do hope to be able to release this item at some point in the future.
Q: On the sides of some ENERGON packaging, there are four symbols: the gear shape around the AUTOBOT symbol. Depending on the toy, a different symbol is emphasized. Are these references to price point? If not, what do they refer to?
A: This gear shape around the AUTOBOT logo is our new POWERLINX symbol. This symbol and the term POWERLINX indicates that these characters can combine when in robot mode. You can combine figures with POWERLINX symbols of the same color.
Q: When is the ALTERNATORS line going to be in stores? 20th Anniversary OPTIMUS PRIME?
A: Both of these items are currently shipping and are beginning to appear in stores now!
Q: Are there any plans to release the deluxe sized OPTIMUS PRIME shown in a recent Takara catalog with the Kicker figure? Does this deluxe OPTIMUS PRIME combine with MEGATRON at all?
A: These items are not currently in our ENERGON plans. They may eventually be released as exclusives.
