It seems that Hasbro has once again decided to dump some repaints on the unsuspecting public. Much like Storm Jet, they´re taking some Beast Machines shelf-warmers, giving ´em a new color-scheme, and sticking them in RiD packaging. Chances are, these will be exclusive to a chain of stores, but there´s no word yet on what chain this may be.
On a side note, if Hasbro doesn´t give these things G1 DINOBOT names, you can exect some lively conversation at the ENERGON PUB located RIGHT HERE @ SEIBERTRON.com
All the credit in the world to TFormers.com for this rumor.

After searching for Sideways at local Toys R Us stores for a few weeks, a fan calling himself Goldbug decided to contact Hasbro and see what the deal was...
Goldbug:
According to ToysRUs.com Transformers Armada Sideways has been discontinued. I haven´t even seen the figure in stores. Will you be shipping more Sideways figures, and if so when?
Response (Kelly Landoch):
Hi [Goldbug],
Thank you for contacting Hasbro, Inc. regarding our Transformers product line.
I have checked the Toys R Us site and can not find any where on the site where it has the Transformer Sideways on it.
We do not have a Transformer listed under the Armada line called Sideways. We have a Robots in Disguise Sideways and Axer that is a Walmart exclusive.
THERE YOU HAVE IT! DON´T LISTEN TO YOUR HASBRO REPS!
Thanks to Goldbug!

Hey folks, just heard this rumor from a local toy dealer that Armada WAVE 2 (Smokescreen and Sideways) have already stopped shipping. That doesn´t mean that tons more won´t be popping up in stores near you, it simply means that Hasbro´s not going to be sending any more out. This is the same type of thing that happened with RiD Wave 2 (The Machine Wars Repaints and Bruticus). Extremely small runs. Get these figures while you can.

Fortress Maximus figure from 1987. Brave Maximus from Car Robots was released in 2000 so the mold is readily available. Fact or Fiction ...

UPDATE:
This thing may be a future Lucky Draw piece, however, the figure on Ebay most definately is NOT. The Ebay product is (most likely) a prototype or test-shot for the upcoming Lucky Draw figure.
As for the short stacks, it´s something different for the japanese fans.

The following is a RUMOR!
As you´ve probably noticed by the stacks of Armada toys piling up in local stores the line isn´t selling as well as planned. You´ve probably also noticed that the Toys R Us exclusive reissues have been flying off the shelves (except for Ultra Magnus, but that´s another story) along with the HOC PVC figures. You´re not the only one to notice this. Hasbro has been aware. It´s entirely possible that Armada may be brought to a screaching halt sooner than later. There is an upside to this though. This is NOT the death of Transformers. A new G1-esque line is being considered for its replacement.
How long does Armada have? Well folks, I wouldn´t pre-order Galvatron or Thundercracker if I were you...
