We won't know until after Comic-Con, but it's quite likely that he will be available, at retail, through hasbrotoyshop.com. In both 2007 and 2008, the "exclusive" toys were available there... in fact, you can still get Nemesis Prime and Titanium Skywarp through them now (though only the overpriced, AFA-graded ones).
Alternately, you can wait until they pop up on ebay, or find someone going to Comic-Con (like me) to try and get one for you. (I still have 2 Universe Nemesis Primes MIB, personally )
Wheeljack35 wrote:I wonder how much it will cost?
According to this page, it should retail at approximately $49.99. Usually, that means downgrading the price to $45-46, so CA state sales tax makes it $50 at the register.

Sounds like a good alternative to me.
emeraldbeacon wrote:Alternately, you can wait until they pop up on ebay,
That is the last place I would try because my budget is so limited and irregular and I know very well price would be everything but cheap.
emeraldbeacon wrote:or find someone going to Comic-Con (like me) to try and get one for you.
That is a nice offer but I'm afraid I won't have the money in such a short notice. Today's economy makes me schedule purchases months in anticipation.

Cyberjet #7 wrote:I hate the packaging. G1 Soundwave (even if it's a retool or re-issue or anything of the like) should not be linked with Universe stuff. Universe only works for remodeled figures.
Good point dude! They really should have considered a more exclusive package for such an exclusive TF. I will try to get my hands on it simply cause I need an opened SW to compensate for my sealed reissue #10. Ratbat is a cool incentive too but like someone just pointed out it's time to let Rumble and Frenzy join their master with evil pride!!!

Do you happen to remember how they were priced on hasbrotoyshop.com? Were they the $50 retail-ish, or really marked up?

My wife got me Nemesis Prime for $25 (no S&H) from HTS last Christmas.

Awesome, thanks! I am trying to decide whether to wait or pay the ridiculous mark ups on Ebay, lol.

Nickolai wrote:Would it kill them to, JUST ONCE, reissue Rumble or Frenzy? I mean, are the molds destroyed or stolen?
Freakin' A dude, they should have been accompanied by Ratbat. Christ knows how many people have Ravage, Laserbeak, and Buzzsaw just from the previous releases alone. I think they should have stayed away from the Universe banner, hell they used recently released Superion for ROTF banner so should Soundwave been too! But hey that's just my two cents with no sense I guess!

No mate, single deck same as the old TFC#10 release, I think the encore one was a single deck too

Right? Or at least Buzzsaw instead of Laserbeak. Even that wouldn;'t warrent a nother Soundwave reissue purchase, but geez, who doesn't have Ravage/Laserbeak/Soundwave at this point? I know, now thousands of people will reply saying "I don't" or "I just started collecting this morning and I've never had a chance at this figure" but you know, I think people would be buying Soundwave reissues regardless of Laserbeak/Ravage/Rumble/Frenzy's inclusion, so why not switch up the tapes from time to time and potentially increase the hell out of the demand? Cause, I'd buy this if the tapes were different and I have the TRU Soundwave.

This set DOES include both Buzzsaw & Laserbeak plus Ravage and Ratbat.

I've got to think that's the case. As badly as fans have been screaming for those guys, I don't think Takara and Hasbro are sitting back in their chairs saying, "Mwa ha ha ha ha!"
I don't know the costs involved in recreating a mold, but I guess the Encore line just isn't popular enough to justify the cost. Really sucks, because I'd love to have them, too.

Then how come they did more expensive ones never before reissued like Omega Supreme, Metroplex and Sky Lynx on the Encore line? Rumble/Frenzy mold is probably cheaper to be recreated. And with a single mold they sell 2 very much wanted figures.

Basically, anything left over from the Comic-Con will be sold through HTS. Same thing with the previous exclusives.

That's a whole different can of worms there. Those molds did not belong to either Hasbro or Takara proper so they could not be reissued. It was only through the merger with Tomy (the current copyright holder of these molds) that we got them.

Well, Metroplex was always originally from Takara and Hasbro. Omega Supreme and Sky Lynx in fact were from another company, ToyBox, I think. So, Metroplex still fits the same situation. As for the other 2, didn't they have to rebuild the molds?

No
Turns out Tomy outsourced the creation and production of the molds to ToyBox, but they owned whatever was produced. When Takara merged with Tomy, lo and behold, they found the molds in the list of acquired properties.

Thanks, I didn't know that before. It's great that they could reissue those 2, especially Omega Supreme. Thanks to that I now have them and I really like Omega .

Well I know that. What I'm asking is, how do you know there will be any left over to sell online? There's no guarantee that there will be any left over, so that's why I want to make sure I am covered.

There's no guarantee of it of course, however there have been overstock from 2007 and 2008, so chances are decent that there'll be some left over.
