First Look at Legacy United Chromia and Shard

Yes, I'll probably get this, but never Legacy Animated Prowl. Another so-close-yet-so-far situation that can't help but remind me of the frustration evoked when placing Thrilling 30 Chromia and CW/UW Afterburner next to each other.

And while Shard's unique crystal-copter mode should make me want to display it next to Solitaire or Bishop, it's suddenly making me want to track down that Marvel Legends Crystar figure.

"And then we can smoke this dude's whole planet!"

Other than that horrible seafoam green, that's actually a pretty good Chromia figure. I get that it's unpaintable plastic, but why THAT color, that doesn't even match her color scheme?

And I'm not a fan of the Rock lord style characters. This new one, especially, doesn't look like rock, it looks like feathers, or a mop head.

And it also dawned on me who this Chromia reminds me of, at least in bike mode: Quickslinger, the Cybertron comic character that no one did any requested customs of!



Well, now I'll just sell my spare Ransack and buy Legacy Chromia. Got other customs I've been putting off for decades...

I don't know about you folks, but the thickness of Chromia's thighs is what sold me.

In all seriousness, I am actually excited to get these figures.

That helicopter could be a really cool design without all the geological greeble. As-is, looks like some weird expansion of the '07 Movie protoform figure concept.

Shard looks great. I hope they keep doing more colourful rock guys, rocks come in all kinds of crazy colors, there's no need to stay gray and brown. I hope they do a repaint of Magneous in more vibrant colors.

SUPER in love with the rocky aesthetic, I insist that these guys and the Fossilizers should have gotten their own toyline and TV show, could have been the new Beast Wars, innovation-wise, if they'd gone all in like that.

Totally agree. I love the swords, but I don't know how I feel about a flying rock. I'm sure I'll like it more in person. It's one of those rare cases where I think the figure would at least look better in clear emerald green plastic, though it would probably also be incredibly fragile over time.

Chromia looks good, I like that she isn't in identical colors as the previous ones. She's practically a new character and probably how I'll use her. She really only looks like Cyberverse Chromia is the face colors and nothing else.

M'eh. Both of these are an easy pass. Obviously, TFA Prowl makes a terrible Chromia. And the rock themed weaponizers? They don't look like rocks at all, they look like vehicles covered with chewing gum and french fries. I guess if you're 'in' to that sort of thing, then it's a dream come true. But I can do without, thanks.

Glad I bought that T30 Chromia, looks more the part than this. Still open of a different redeco of that Prowl mold so I can experience it, but this aint it.

Also, after a few mistakes in the past, I would not have posted this if there was a possibility it was a custom or something unconfirmed.

I already have the T30 and Siege versions of Chromia, but I'm planning to pick this one up, too. I would have preferred a new mold closer to a Tron-style light cycle, but this seems like a sensible mold choice to me. Animated Prowl was already a lean build and even if there aren't specific robot design cues for Chromia's character model, it still fits her in my opinion. I also love the color scheme including the bright seafoam green. The Cyberverse designs all have bright neon light effects, and that's hard to represent in plastic. I think the bright seafoam color helps with that. I actually wish there was even more highlighting, but as it is, most of it is just in the accessories which can be removed.

You're right, plus someone on here said JTPrime confirmed it, so it must be real. I think it's actually better than its use as Prowl then, but that's because I'm not quite liking their interpretation of Animated so far. And the colorscheme for Chromia is more interesting.

I would love a heavy retool of this mold into an Akira crossover. I'd gladly play 35 for that.

Man, that new Rock/Helicopter is pretty cool. OG/BW, and CR are my jam, but nobody can say I don't like new things. Much like all of the "izers" of the past 4 years, I find these to be really fun and creative.

This Shard's resemblance to Waspinator makes me wonder if updated Beast Wars: Dawn of Future's Past figures are a possibility. With concept art characters getting figure releases, I wonder if we could see something like that in Legacy or maybe a Generations Selects multi-pack.

In addition to Waspinator-esque colors, Shard also has a UT Jetfire-esque face.

We got two brand new leaks yesterday but the Chromia that was shown had the stigma of the leaker playing games with fans and having spray paint in the background, alluding to it being a custom. However, it is indeed a real figure. The upcoming Chromia in the Legacy line will be a straight animated Prowl redeco with a new head, as we had previously written. We have a new image of her posted on X by Primekelly414. For those wondering why the toys are "leaking" now, this Chromia and almost all 2024 toys part of the Spring waves (except for Swoop) are being distributed across the globe at the moment. We included yesterday's images as well so you can see how the colours look depending on changes in lighting.

I'd be surprised if that's not repurposed later. Although I wonder if a deluxe head would be too small for Jetfire? I would imagine he'd need to be at least voyager (if he has a combination with Armada Prime, that is)

They can use Bouldercrash as Rattrap/Ransack/Quickslinger.

Not quite the same with the overall shape of the vehicle but Bouldercrash has more than a passing resemblance to Cybertron Ransack otherwise. The chest flap, the placement of the front end on the back, the too large for the figure flip around weapon, the wheels on the outside of the legs and that they're small figures.

The head sculpt for Chromia looks fantastic and the colors are actually really interesting, but I just don't really see this mold fitting the character that well. I'm happy with the Chromia figures I already have. Honestly, if they had done an original character instead, I'd buy it.

Haven't bought into any of the Rocklord characters, but they do look cool. Just not needed in my collection. Happy to see them doing some really creative designs.

I'd love for them to do a Dawn of Future's Past set. I wouldn't necesarily agree with some of your choices, in particular with molds that are visibly Earth vehicles, but any version of it would be nice.

Waspinator - Either Siege Starscream or Jhiaxus
Scorponok - Siege Brunt
Tarantulas - No idea, Cog is cool though, as you said
Megatron - I originally had Galvatron here, but I like your Tarn idea more.
Dinobot - Siege Springer

Optimus Primal - Difficult one, funpub really nailed it using Crumplezone, but your Magneous idea is really cool
Rhinox - Siege Ironhide
Cheetor - Studio Series Hot Rod
Rattrap - Legacy Iguanus

Never thought about Depthcharge and Rampage, but again, the molds used by funpub where really well fitting. I don't care much about cybertronian modes for Airazor and Tigatron, since they were born on earth.

That's what I thought at first, but after a comparison, the original would never work. The chest area is huge while the hips are minuscules on the original.

Granted, the Chromia version would work better with an unique chest piece. Something that could easily pass as a female torso while also looking like a bike front.

Megatron - Doubledealer.
Waspinator - Needlenose. The Targetmasters could be Chak and Una?
Terrorsaur - Starscream. But I like either Cyclonus or Jhiaxus better.
Scorponok - Sideswipe but Brunt is so much better.
Tarantulas - Crashbar. With two Arms Microns again.
Quickstrike. Brunt.
Rampage - Armada Megatron?
Blackarachnia - Animated Prowl/Chromia?
Dinobot - Siege or Legacy (even though we don't know what it looks like) Springer. Shame Ironworks doesn't have a vehicle mode or I'd say like two of him for Dinobot. Since there's no modern Armada Hoist, I was thinking Ironworks due to his shovel chest and that with two of them acting as one bot, the second chest could be an arm.

Optimus Primal - G2 Laser Prime since no Crumplezone.
Rhinox - Gonna have to be Bulkhead since no update for Landmine.
Rattrap - Bouldercrash.
Airazor - TR Slugslinger but most likely Legacy Windblade.
Silverbolt - Legacy Sandstorm even though we don't know what he looks like yet.
Depthcharge - Skyquake. That was a good choice.
Cheetor - Wildrider/Breakdown.
Tigatron - Wildrider/Breakdown.
Transmutate - Legacy Arcee.

I was trying to match them with any previous versions as best as possible whenever possible. But there are better fitting molds now...and then for that matter.

While I do like the look of Legacy Chromia, I can't help but feel Hasbro is going back to shoehorning in reuses again. At least Prowl isn't too far off the mark like Scraphook was for Tow-Line. That was just horrible. Beautiful colors but horrible mold choice.

Speaking of beautiful colors though; Shard looks really good. It looks like it's just a fun mold.

The chest, I'll give you. On Cyberverse Chromia that windshield is on her back. If the TFA Prowl can be retooled so that could go back there, and she got a new, smaller chest piece, it would be perfect. I even like the fact that she would be much taller, possibly voyager sized.

As for the hips, it might be more natural for females to have wider hips, the narrower hips and waist adhere to the Cyberverse Chromia design much better. And they would definitely have to lose that hanging piece on Prowl's crotch, because...well, it's obvious.

I quite like how Chromia looks, maybe it's just because i'm a fan of the Prowl mold as is, but I think it suits her well. Accurate or not, I think it's still a solid figure overall. Might pick her up.

Shard's pretty cool looking, though he does look like he's been in the bathtub for too long heh. Pretty neat how they're giving us more 'copters.

Found Animated Prime at Target today. Gotta say, he's a bit bigger than I thought he'd be, but overall pretty satisfied with him

Unfortunately, that piece is kind of integral to the transformation, as it helps to hold part of the altmode's underside together.

It's Transmetal Blackarachnia all over again. They could just have remold A. Prowl with the pegs inverted. But that's costly.

Shard looks pretty fantastic, I am loving it! Rock copter indeed!

Chromia actually kinda works for me. It's not accurate, but it looks good. Only think will be I need to decide if T30 or this one goes to Cyberverse and which one stays on the G1 collection. I skipped siege Chromia, did not like.

While it's been a month long trickle, the entire first wave of the Transformers Generations Legacy United line has now been found in the US and is also popping up all across the globe. Below is a quick breakdown of the places the toys have been found (it is not an exhaustive list) followed by review videos for all the new figures.

Core class were found at Target in the US and Walmart in Canada

Deluxes were found at Meijer's and Target in the US and Gamestop in Canada

Voyagers were found at Target in the US and can currently be purchased on amazon.ca for Canadian fans

Leaders were found at Gamestop in both the US and Canada
