Check out the images below!
looks like the Hotrod part of RP might be bigger than expected. makes me wonder if he'll scale well with TR Galvatron.

Still, Hot Rod himself looks incredible. That one render shown on the slideshow back at SDCC had me a bit ambivalent about him, but he looks downright perfect here with his smooth angles, the finish on his chest and helmet, that spot-on facesculpt... and, most importantly, the very visible and very cool-looking spoiler! I almost regret getting the Titans Return figure!

Heck several of the other PCC Designs would make very interesting toys at the different scale too, the advantage is we'd get expansions to existing premises (Like Dinobots & Constructicons) and yet also get new Characters - also a 5 part Construction combiner has repaint/remould potential for Takara to make into a version of 6 Builder or The Autobot Build team too.
But If they made that cute little Armoured Car or half track into a brand new robot that would be delightful or what about the Monster truck as a Voyager.
People keep hoping they'd make at least some new toys for a change and not just nostalgia farm exclusively - but perhaps you can get a "new toy feeling" by nostaliga farming more obscure things - as was done with Overlord I guess.
Also I do still really want a Proper Thunderwing sometime - so I hope it's not off the table for Prima or Megatronus to be the basis for him in some form - heck the existing mould or a new oner - either is really going to suit him as if you do an IDW's version you can make him a Torso unit and function like a true Mega Pretender too (pretty much). Or they could go for a more G1 look and use the Overlord mould family as the base (Prima looks quite close already). I don't mind if it's an exclusive or a boxed set or if it even take 2 years to show up _ I just think he's super appropriate.
Kind alike I wouldn't mind a CW Sunstorm sometime down the road too.

i dont see any reason for regret. look how big Hot Rod looks next to Blackwing (or is that Dreadwind). Hot Rod looks a bit bigger than a deluxe to me, possibly voyager size. I really want to see him in a side by side with Voyager Starscream or Galvatron now

Honestly... that actually helps. Not for everyone of course, but for me being between deluxe and voyager just works for Hot Rod to me.
I think about the only things I prefer about TR Hot Rod now are the colour scheme and the fact he has a cockpit. Then again, I don't think I've seen this version's car mode alone yet...

Observation: Dreadwind is an arm... and he uses Rippersnapper as a leg.
Hypothesis: He's a spare torso like regular CW Optimus Prime, Cyclonus, and non-box set Scattershot.

It's got a fairly heavy amount of stylisation and casts a very different silhouette to the original design; and in general carries itself with what feels like an edgier, angrier feel.
Not that that's a bad thing; quite the opposite - I love the Classics Voyager and will sing its praises to the ends of the Earth! I just find it funny that the original design is represented in every size class other than the one a lot of people would agree is the size class that's 'right' for Optimus

Very true - though since that design is based on and has very few differences to the original (the only real difference noticeable on the toy would be the shoulder pads), I still count it. Maybe I'm just weird

So then the combiner wars one should count even more than the legends one as it doesn't deviate from the original design it just has sightly different proportions.

Agreed. It looks so much better than the previous Rodimus. Seems to me the previous one's face sculpt just didn't look like him and he looked a little too skinny in the waist and chubby in the chest. IDW Roddy is kinda skinny but he isn't proportioned like that figure.
I kinda hope they do the same thing with Perceptor, I wanted him in the beginning but I realized how werid the face sculpt is and it doesn't really look like Percy. Doesn't even have his chin plate. IDK why but it is my personal pet-peeve when beards are not done correctly.

Currently, it looks like this is gonna be my exact plan too. It's amazing how one good picture can make me do a complete 180 from "not a chance mate" to "I need it NOW PLEASE". I just hope that he really is small-voyager-ish size in reality and it's not just a perspective trick; that slight size change to the smaller Hot Rod robot is gonna make the difference to me whether I need this guy to display as Rodimus Prime (not combined with the trailer 'cause that still looks bleh), or just kinda want him to be a really nice Hot Rod. If I was to imagine any faction leader being a little on the short side, it'd be Roddy anyway.

Technically wouldn't the CW Voyager Optimus Prime count as the G1 body being used? It's not exact by any means, but I considered it mostly close-ish at least as far as 10 feet away.

To be honest I'm not a fan of the g1 dinobots combining I just think it takes away from their intention and how they've been portrayed. I agree that the pcc dinobots grimstone would've been a way better choice as a Dinobot combiner as it adds new bots to the roster with a history of actually combining. They're all different dinosaurs too bar the core bot who is like a triceratops but it could easily be explained he's slugs brother which would open stories in IDW and other media. Not to mention Grimstone has some cool dinos like the spinosaurus and pachi. Could've swapped the spinosaurus out though for another herbivore. As popular as dinosaurs are I'm curious why hasbro haven't taken that opportunity or even pump out more dinos like scowl in transformers rid who's a decepticon Dino. Lots of dinosaurs and unlimited potential there really that's just wasted. Maybe the repaints and retool of the dinobots will be a new combiner(hopefully ).

Been lookin at the combiners... it's hard to find the actual combiner ports. Ripper looks like he has a one in his chest. Hungy's hind legs look reminiscent of a combiner torso dude. But Mister Dinobiner? I don't see anything like the other combiners on him....
