OOOOooohh!!!!
I would love to see Instructions end up in the galleries for as many figures as possible. I've had a couple of alternators that after a few years, I had to searched EVERYWHERE online to figure out how to transform them again. Even the youtube videos usually block something important.

Considering that in the UK we'll pay probably £150 for CW Devvy at retail, that's an incredible deal for a UK citizen.
If you're buying as an american, converting that into dollarydoos and importing it from England, probably not so much.
>£159.99 = $249.77
>£179.99 = $280.99
Shipping will vary

I've contacted Hasbro via chat in the past for missing instructions and they mailed me a print out free if charge. This was for a somewhat current figure at the time and they did ask me for some info off the box. I didn't have the box handy and wasn't able to provide them with what they wanted, they sent the instructions to me anyway.
It may be a long shot, but worth a try.

It's not backwards though. It's just a different type of mixer. Front discharge mixer. They cheated a bit and painted windows on the back where there would be none (that's the generator compartment).

I noticed the rivets too. I'm wary, but the Prowlstator head and articulated fingers are worth it to me to just get the Hasbro version and that upgrade. Considering I'll get him from Amazon for just over $150 after tax (+free two-day shipping) I think I'll be pretty far off the Takara price and I'll have the figure in my hands soon!! Push comes to shove, if I'm not a fan I'll return it and pre-order the Takara.fenrir72 wrote:RK is HK basedCobotron wrote:CRAMY! I just noticed you posted Robotkingdom. Add ons, computed in total + shipping, wouldn't it be equivalent in total to the TT version. Anyway, preference do win in the end. I'm kind of scared at modifying the components since Hasbro usually uses those permanent rivets over the old phillips screw types of yesteryear.

Mixmaster
Is
Not
Backwards.
and I for one, welcome the presence of a modern cement truck. that's the style I've always seen around here in the Midwest. although admittedly in assembling this post, I had to dig through a lot of the more traditional truck style then I would have expected. and yes I know to car has paint it up the rear end to look like G 1 Mixmaster, but for me, the wheels are a dead giveaway

eh, it's more a case of "to each their own". I acknowledge that people wanted more, paint apps, a bit of articulation, and other add-ons might make the figure look a bit better, but I'm just grateful to be able to even buy a Transformer.

Unfortunately, Mixmaster isn't backwards. He's based off this style of a Cement Mixer truck.

New Gallery: SDCC 2015 Combiner Wars Devastator
Still unsure about Devastator? Still unsure about the bling the SDCC version is rockin'? Well check out our newest gallery to help you decide! (I have the retail version in hand and I must say it's worth the money, so while I can't say much about the chrome, I'd imagine if you're an SDCC junkie, this guy is perfect for you!)
Our galleries of the individual bots will be released over the weekend, so you'll have something to enjoy when you come home from your 4th of July celebrations, something that'll make you paw the screen and drool. (And probably open your wallets...c'mon, we only live once!)
Before we head onto the gallery, make note of the special edition packaging, chrome accents and G1 toy accurate paint apps used to match those of the sticker sheet that came with the original many moons ago. (You can see the original in our galleries by clicking right here.)
Without further ado, we proudly present 2015 San Diego Comic Con exclusive Combiner Wars Titan Class Devastator!

I think it's more the hypocrisy of everyone being super G1 critical about every single mech Hasbro, Takara, or 3rd parties release -- except for this Devastator. Somehow it's acceptable for the officially licensed company to completely butcher Mixmaster like this and everyone is okay with that, yet they take a magnifying glass to every other figure. Not sure why this one deserves a pass. The criticism is fair.
They're also releasing it into a market where several alternatives managed to give Mixmaster a more authentic look, so they're also falling short of the mark of the competition, not just the G1 original. We've all noticed where they've cheaped out in other ways with level of detail, lacking articulation (somewhat remedied on the TT version), and generally weak alt modes (blade, bucket, crane boom, and scoop articulation, treads/tracks, etc). Mixmaster not even being the same style of vehicle is arguably a bigger miss than any of those things.
I'm just grateful to be able to even buy a Transformer.
Oh come on, we're in a golden age of Transformers, with half a dozen Devastators to choose from. That sort of quip would be more fitting for some sort of dark age where there's literally no alternatives to the Hasbro/TT Devastator, let alone some very G1-esque alternatives.
Posted by ZeroWolf on July 4th, 2015 @ 1:53am CDT
As for comparing figures, as burn says to each their own, I couldn't care less about how G1 a figure is. All I want is a fun figure to play with.
Maybe devys designer (overall design) wanted good modern interpretations of the construction vehicles so chose a modern mixing truck

It's called having an opinion. I don't have a problem with Mixmaster. Just like I don't have a problem with a lot of their other figures.
I've said it before, I'll say it again. I'm obviously a very simple person with very simple tastes. Yet for some reason, people seem to set out to somehow convince me I'm wrong for thinking that way.

Or it could be I'm grateful to have a job and be able to afford them.
I mean really, my life could be a LOT worse off, I could be living under a bridge homeless. But nope, lucky me, I have a nice little townhouse filled with Transformers. So I'll go back to being grateful for being able to buy Transformers.
And if Hasbro start putting out stuff I don't like, then I guess I just won't buy them.

Oh, I hope my post didn't come across that way. I have no issue with your opinion, rather it seemed you (and a couple other people) took issue with the commonly expressed opinion that Mixmaster is backwards. My post was defending their opinion because it's both commonly shared and just as valid as anyone else's on the matter. It is based on a different type of Mixer, but as the figure Mixmaster, it is backwards compared to the original/G1.
Or it could be I'm grateful to have a job and be able to afford them.

And that is what bothers me about Mixmaster. The alt mode itself is fine, and if all the others had been given the same treatment I'd be thinking, "Cool modern update, they will go well with all the other Classics/Generations toys I have". Having one modern update and five that try to be as close to the fiction as possible (with a few obvious tweaks) makes Mixmaster stand out badly and look worse for it.shajaki wrote:Mixmaster doesn't bother me. So long as he's still a truck with a giant barrel. Though I do think its odd that everyone else is so faithful to the source and he isn't.
It is worse still when you consider his bot mode looks faithful to the fiction. So of the twelve modes (not counting combined), only one is a modern update, and the other eleven are very close to the fiction

One of the biggest reasons for not liking it is because none of the others got a "modern" update. Would some of those people care to post some pictures of some "modern" alt modes for the other five Constructicons?
Posted by Sabrblade on July 5th, 2015 @ 10:33pm CDT
All six of them are modern. It's just that the other five are based on vehicle types whose designs haven't changed as much in appearance as the look of that type of cement mixer has.Burn wrote:A challenge for all those who don't like Mixmaster being given the alt mode of a "modern" cement truck.

Though, Mixmaster is done as that kind of cement mixer not simply to be modernized, but also because that type of design is what the great big mining cement mixers look like, and all six of the Constructicons in this set are rendered as the giant mining versions of their respective altmode vehicles. The rear-mounted cement mixer design nowadays is used on the smaller-scale ones, while the bigger-scale mining ones use the front-mounted mixers. It's because they're all giant mining construction vehicles now that Mixmaster got his new look.

Sorted.
And yet the complaining continues. I wonder why?
We didn't get much complaints when Metroflex came without Slammer or Six-gun.
Some complaints on Jetfire's faux cockpit.
Only one member complained when we got A/B. OffRoad not to much.
Then we also have the scale issues and the elbows now that TT released an updated version of the update.
Is familiarity with a particular symbol/person/vehicle so deep routed? That the particular psychological comfort zone so much disturbed that the crutch it serve to root one to reality has been so destabilized?
Makes a good case study in Psychology/Psychiatry. OCD to the max? Neurosis to the next level?
