Wheeljack's just plain gorgeous, even for (of all characters) a Tracks repaint/remold. Rumble and Frenzy are musts, as is Scourge. Laser Prime... Meh. Not a fan of the original mold, either. Now if they made this into Toxitron I *might* be tempted to get it. Might.

love how its just a repaint of tracks but looks so much different and so great
we are 100% getting a Hasbro version right??

I'm not even into Scourge as a character, either, but I love that alt mode. The others, yes please.

1: I woulda preferred a more G1-esque alt-mode for Scourge, but I'm suuuuper grateful that we're going to GET a Scourge. And it looks like he comes with a Targetmaster, no less!
2: The paint job on Laser Prime reminds me too much of movieverse Prime. Not liking that.
All in all, well done!!!
(I'd still like to see more Decepticons, though. They're outnumbered. Again.)

Same here, really glad I didn't overspend on the PE ones. So was the whole combination rumor just that, a rumor? Or are they going to connect in vehicle mode like the Hearts of Steel Insecticons or something? It doesn't really look like it, to be honest. Maybe it was a mistranslation of 2-pack.
All of these are bought! Oh wait, except Laser Prime. I'm hoping for Nemesis Prime repaint.

I like Rumble and Frenzy. I like the direction they've taken them in. Just need to figure out if I can get past the non-G1-ness of it.
Scourge is as good as bought. I don't think that's a Targetmaster though. It appears to be in the style of his G1 Targetmaster gun, but it doesn't look up to the same standards as Universe Cyclonus' Nightstick. The hinges we see are probably to transform him for storage in alt-mode. Hope I'm wrong though.
G2 Prime is a pass. Would anyone else be happy with a Motormaster repaint of this mold?

If I remember correctly, a previous story said that Wheeljack is actually the original mold, and Tracks is the re-paint. Sorry, I'm too lazy to find the original story.

This was brought up before too. I think Hasbro said that the gun is not a Targetmaster. I think it just folds up for storage in alt mode. Too bad too. Opportunity missed, methinks.
Also, the Titanium Scourge is nice as a Classics stand it. Although, I think this one is growing on me some, and may make it into my collection somewhere. At any rate, I'm too much of a completest to not get him. I just don't think I'll get a full compliment of sweeps like I did for my Titaniums. I even have repainted Classics Nightstick into Fracas, going so far as to make the head engine removable for Fracas in Hovercraft mode. I just need to trim the hand peg and drill holes in the fist. Anybody have a couple of extra hours in a day to sell me? 24 isn't enough!

Wheeljack looks great, but the big forehead is kind of strange.
Scourge is surprisingly lack-luster. I was just looking at the Titanium version the other night and I think it is still the best version of Scourge.
Rumble and Frenzy do not do it for me. Too much movie look has crept into the shape of their arms and legs. I see a lot of people saying they're glad they avoided the Perfect Effect Rumble and Frenzy. Thing is, those are incredible figures and rightly sized at that. I'll of course get this new R & F, but out of curiosity not necessity.

I agree about Wheeljack's head; it looks a bit off. He's still a very nice looking figure, though I can't help but think that the grey prototype looked a lot better.

Yeah when I first heard about this guy, from the descriptions from those who saw him, it sounded like he'd be "just like the original". Then when I saw him it kind of took me by surprise, because I was expecting a downsized Laser Prime. This might have made a good DOTM deluxe Prime, because he looks kind of modernized and movie-like in my opinion. I think I'll still buy both him and Scourge, but I think I'd rather find a nice Laser Prime on ebay or something. My friend has RID Scourge and I keep trying to give him offers for it. It's just a great mold, and I don't care what the G2 bashers say.

Frenzy and Rumble- They look great! Neat tank modes. But are they supposed to be a set or sold separately?
Scourge- Looks really awesome. This'll be my first Scourge too.
Optimus Prime- Ehh...I expected him to look more like the original Laser Prime, but I'll definitely buy him to fill the spot of G1/G2 Prime since I don't have any versions of him. He looks movie-like, too. He could stand in for movie Ultra Magnus, maybe?

This is something you should do regardless. To me, it's one of those moulds everyone should have in their collection.
Plus the RID Scourge version because of all that lovely shiney chrome.

Yeah when I first held Scourge I thought he was one of the most awesome Transformers I'd ever seen. Then I discovered Laser Prime and thought I had to have him. I would even go as far as to get Laser Prime, Laser Magnus, and Scourge. Then again, I could really use some Megatrons and Starscreams, too

Tracks is a repaint of Wheeljack by the way not vice versa even tho he is coming out first.
Scourge is just fantastic. I'm not so keen on his alt mode so I'll just keep him in that bad ass G1 robot mode!
I also love Frenzy and Rumble's robot mode. I would love it if they were deluxe size but agree that they'll probably be scout size or something small anyway.
G2 laster Prime looks good (as does that G2 Ramjet that's coming from TFCC) but I have no interest in G2 as I don't have enough space and am not willing to devote any more cash to Transformers that G1 reissues, Masterpieces and Generations/Classics.
Remember that although it would have been cool to have had Rumble and Frenzy as cassettes or Perceptor as a microscope a la G1, we are not the main target customers for Hasbro anymore and they have to make these appeal to kids as well as us so the figures get more kid friendly alt modes and we get sweet looking, fully posable G1 accurate robot modes of our favourite characters.
With the exception of stupid headed Blurr, they are doing an outstanding job with Generations/RTS so far.
More Decepticons please!!

I think the new one's bot mode is WAY better. But the Titanium's alt mode is obviously more G1-accurate. I'm just not a big fan of the Titaniums.

I would buy them, but they're too expensive for what they are, IMO. Turns out I don't need to worry about it now.
Optimus1138 wrote:the weird things he's holding in his hands. I know they're from Tracks, but why are they included with Wheeljack?
Wrenches, because he's always building wacky inventions.

Rumble and Frenzy are not that bad and not that good either.
Scourge is a bit of a dissappointment. He needs large wings. Maybe a 3rd party company can hook him up with G1 style wings and a targetmaster as well.
The Optimus Prime really sucks...nuff said.

LOL. I seem to be in the minority of people who don't like that head. It's a great figure just don't like his stupid noggin!
Agree about the titaniums, this version of Scourge looks way better + size wise will fit much better with Classics/Generations.

Heh, I guess his head is kinda big and not very G1-ish, but it works for me. Especially due to IDW Blurr. But for those who aren't fans or haven't been following the comics, I can see how it wouldn't appeal.
I really should get rid of all my Titaniums. I have no desire to take them out of storage.

For all the people saying that Tracks is a remould of Wheeljack - have we heard this officially? I think this is just fan speculation. Personally I think they designed the mould with both figures in mind from the outset. Maybe the guy who did Sunstreaker/Sideswipe did it. Last time, Hasbro told him to just repaint Sunstreaker as Sideswipe, but then he worked out with a few tweaks he could make the transformation work differently to give each bot a different look.
Loving that they painted Scourges 'beard', but even more so that they painted his claws red

Prime: He looked better to me in small photos. Now that I've seen him in better detail I'm not sure how much I like the overall design. The hanging panels on the arms look kind of bad and the head sculpt is leaving me cold.
Not writing him off though. I know that when I'm standing in the store holding him in my hand I will probably not be able to resist.

I can't find the article right off. There was a listing, I think from Takara's United line, that listed Tracks as a Wheeljack repaint. It's definitely more than fan speculation.

This is probably true. I'd bet Hasbro does that with a lot of figures at this point. At any rate, it doesn't really matter, IMHO. We are getting both Wheeljack and Tracks. I'm happy.
Though I'd like to re-iterate someone else's sentiment. My Decepticon shelf is looking pretty sparse compared to the Autobots.

I have looked and looked and all I see is a United version of Wheeljack. No Reveal the Shield, or any of the sorts. But def worth the $30
Prime is a definite pass unless I can find him cheap at retail. Rumble and Frenzy I will pick up at retail whenever that is.

Someone from a toy seller/distributor had anonymously sent an email from Takara Tomy with Transformers United figure listings to Seibertron and Tracks was officially listed as a Wheeljack repaint.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, lets get some more Decepticons in this line. My shelf is the same all Seekers!!
We already know we are getting Reflector but haven't heard about plans for anymore Decepticons in this line yet.

I'm much happier with my PE Frumbles, though I suspect I'll pick these up on sale.
Same with Scourge & Laser Prime.
I'm a lot happier with the Titanium Scourge, though I MAY make this my Scourge and have my 3 titaniums as drones. Hmmmmm? Yea, I just sold myself on that idea!
Laser prime is just too small, since I have the original mold (Scourge) in my display, I'll be keeping it to that. Now, since I'm a complete sucker for Nemesis-style repaints, if they DO release a repaint of this as Scourge I'll be getting that one.
Posted by Primacron's Little Helper on November 13th, 2010 @ 6:12am CST
Some of the proportions on the figures look a little strange - Frenzy and Rumble look excessively tall and Scourge looks quite wide, probably just his wings though.
With G2 Laser Prime, I'm still not convinced it's an improvement over the original.

Yup the differences between Hasbro's and TakaraTomy's Frenzy are now apparent.
Hasbro: More purple dark blue, copper chest details, copper cannons, black plastic for treads and joints, less contrast in blues, violet tank turret center.
Takara: More blue dark blue, yellow chest details, silver cannons, light blue plastic for treads and joints, more contrast in blues, silver tank turret center, additional yellow chest detail.
I'm a sucker for the copper cannons on Frenzy as I always preferred the gold weapons on him to the silver. The rest of the details I like the Takara one more though.

Thundercracker is a definite possibility. (And a desire for me too. Throw in Sunstreaker and I'd have the whole set.) I'd doubt we'll see a Skywarp re-issue or re-paint. He was released with Classics Ultra Magnus as a store exclusive a number of years ago.
On the other hand, we do have two distinct Starscream paint jobs. Maybe they'll do another Skywarp. It wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.
OmegaPrime98 wrote:im confused. is the gun that scourge is holding a target master or not??? it looks like one but i dont see a transformation method but anyways DEFENETLY getting all of'em
It is not Fracas, Scourge's Targetmaster partner. This has been confirmed by Hasbro, I believe. I'm guessing it just folds up for storage in alt mode.
