No silhouettes at the end or anything. Unless there's something in the text it looks like Baldigus might just be the last Unite Warriors release.

Also, did anyone else notice the Autobots were about to execute the Commandos? Not a very Autobot-y thing to do!

It looks like the whole RID/CR Scourge/Black Convoy and Grand Scourge thing got a lot more confusing

Also, I think the "teaser" in this one was supposed to be Scourge showing up.
Man, I need a translation. That was intense

They are releasing Unicron?
But yeah that combiner port was my favourite part. It looked like it was made of raw energon. And plugging onto that planet reminds me of his look in that old G1 Unicron toy where he really is a head atop of a big planet ball.

Black Convoy finally saw Baldigus Reformatted/Upgraded
Dolrailer has a unicron symbol, and that means....

I guess it's either Liokaiser or Unicron (possibly, due to the combiner peg of his head or something else (still Black Convoy)

I figured they are due to the "Platinum" re-release, and with him all over the place in their comics why wouldn't they? Takara likes money.william-james88 wrote:They are releasing Unicron?itscramtastic wrote:RiddlerJ wrote:Love the giant combiner port on Unicron's head.

Allow me to try to clear up some confusion regarding the final panels at the end. Grand Scourge shows up wearing a Combatron symbol and when Baldigus sees him, he most likely mistakes Grand Scourge for his old boss Black Convoy.
As to why Grand Scourge is wearing a Combatron symbol, his toy came with several insignia decals, which included one with a Combatron symbol that he could wear in homage to Car Robots Black Convoy. For an in-fiction reason, I guess Grand Scourge can simply change his symbols to look like whatever he wants them to. After all, he is a guy that can cross dimensions and such. Maybe he simply has symbol-changing powers too. As to why he chose to wear the Combatron symbol, maybe he found out about CR Black Convoy's existence and similar appearance to himself, and learned about Baldigus having appeared in this comic's events, and so decided to wear the Combatron symbol so as to trick Baldigus into thinking that Grand Scourge is Black Convoy so that Grand Scourge can use Baldigus for his own purpose, whatever that may entail.

Yeah, I thought that was Grand Scourge. Makes sense, he came out as part of the same line (kinda)

Interesting that Grand Scourge is suddenly sporting a Combatron symbol (which DID come with the figure). Let's see if Deadlock chases him into this story, too.

I hope Black Convoy/Scourge and Grand Scourge are kept separate characters but having said that it would explain why Black Convoy/Scourge wasn't present during the combatron execution pages
I also don't want the power of Grand Scourge to nerf that of Unicron...behave takaratomy

Though, in fairness to Ironhide, he'd previously appeared alive in an e-HOBBY comic set after G-2, so his lacking an explanation for being alive has been in effect for a while now.

I've come to accept that the surest measure that something can and likely will happen is the degree to which the fandom is vocal about how it won't or can't happen. The greater certainty people have that something can't/won't, the more likely it is/will.
Anyway, I guess this comic addresses my question from yesterday about who or what set will come next . . . I guess? The answer is 'we don't know yet,' but apparently there's a to be continued in there, which means that the end may not be the end and

It's IDW Roller, yes. If not the physically the same IDW Roller from the IDW comics proper, then it's another universe version of him, much like how TFSS Chromedome and Rewind were alternate universe versions of IDW Chromedome and Rewind.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Wrong Roller.o.supreme wrote:I'd pay real money if Wandering Roller's dialogue, if any, is made of the same beeps/whistles as R2D2 (ala original series)

More like an alternate IDW universe where Roller really did disappear and the Necrobot never recovered him. maybe?

It's apparently supposed to be IDW Roller, yeah. Considering recent developments, clearly a very different alternate timeline version.

Where is that ever stated in the cannon that this is IDW roller and not "G1" roller from the 80s ?

It can go both ways with the colouring since the alt mode is very similar looking to the G1 cartoon (and Takara MP toy).
Would you mind posting the bio again (best ranslation possible) as a refresher?

Wandering Roller
Wanders the space between dimensions after being separated from his comrades in the heat of battle, he was originally a Cybertron warrior. Transforms into a 6-wheeled armored vehicle. Roller's spirit was destroyed by absolute solitude while awaiting rescue by his sole comrade. Believing himself abandoned by his trusted comrade, he became ruled by despair and self-condemnation to the point where he eventually carried strong malicious energy. That energy was sensed by Unicron, who brought him to this world. His memory is patchy due to his long wanderings, but he still bears an incredible hatred for the symbol of the Cybertrons: Supreme Commander Convoy.
Note that G1 Cartoon Roller was never a warrior. He (it?) was a little scout vehicle of limited or no intellect in the cartoon. Essentially a drone.
Also note that Sakamoto is the brains behind the UW fiction and also does has done work on MTMTE. He's a continuity nut who loves referencing things like this.

Its still not explicitly stated who that roller is. What about the idea that G1 roller was waiting for Optimus to return in the movie, and Optimus never did (because he died). Only, he didnt know that and thought he was abandoned?

Thanks for the positive spin. I do feel he is anything we want him to be, especially given how batshit random Grand galvatron is. Oh and I do love him, Cobo. Not sure if we have the same favourite though. That Armada Thrust is really somethign else. What an awesome headsculpt. They really went all out on all that deco. You must love that roller. Not only is he completely painted but there are paint apps on top of paint apps. He is by far the most premium looking of all the Unite Warriors/ Combiner Wars releases.

Let me ask you this. Why would they go to the trouble of coloring the toy to look like IDW Roller, allude to IDW Roller's fate (as it was at the time) in the toy's bio, and make the figure be part of a combiner who's themed around the concept "characters who died/disappeared before", and whose accompanying comic portrays Roller as being one of three limb characters who were summoned by Unicron from other universes... Why would they go through doing all that if the intention was for the toy to just be the G1 Cartoon Roller? Why would they make all those references to IDW Roller if it wasn't meant to be IDW Roller? They don't have to spell it out for us if we're savvy enough to recognize all these references.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Wandering Roller

Grandvatron is my only UW combiner (well, aside from Devs) and I like it that way. He seems to be the most b'dazzled release to me. My only combiner wars era splurge. Not sure if I have a favorite of the team. They are all just so gorgeolicious! Roller really stands out though.
Baldigus looks out of sight! I will settle for Bruticus just because there's no need to go out of my way for Baldi, but he falls under a new category I call the RID Slap To The Face. Where I buy the first release of a figure only to wish I could have seen the repaint coming because it's WAY cooler.
