I concur. As much as it's accurate to the original, I think everybody prefers his samurai head to any other alternative. Needlenose and Impactor are the highlights of this set.

It might not look like a samurai, per se, but it does still look like a martial artist, at least to me. Maybe it's the headband?

I know this is the wrong opinion to have, but I'm okay with the new head.

It's not wrong, I like it too, I mean, sure I'd rather have a crazy psycho-techno skull for a head, but nobodies done it well yet, so I'll take this, as it looks equally epic ;)^

Anythign is possible with the CLub, but I wouldn't count on it unless we get a Botcon add-on. Say, Silverbolt or Scattorshot as Sandstorm and fill in the blanks. But as far as we know, No.

I do like this Bludgeon head. it's not the Samauri skull, but it's a nice enough head. I think what
Hellscream9999 wrote:Looks great 8-)

But, there seems to be something off - visually - with thunderwings head, maybe its the lack of symmetrical kibble on vortexs' shoulder, or it might be the colors, or the proportion of the face-to-helmet ratio, but somethings not sitting right with my brain :HEADHURTS:
is seeing is a result of a non-final head skulpt. Your'e right, the head looks swollen compared to the helmet, not enough definition in the edge of the chinplate and his cheek structure. But the head also looks rough to me like a Shapeways print, so it's either bad lighting and bad paint or a rough head mould. And its a little big proportionately compared to what we have gotten, but a lot of times, TF heads, especially those from TFCC are smaller than proportionate to their bodies. So it may be that too.

This picture has me all kinds of excited for Stormbringer. I need a chain to hang the Matrix from his neck.

The description for next year's TCC magaine story refers to Impactor as "the last of the Wreckers." So, it's possibly a sign that he's on his own now.

I think my appreciation for the Bludgeon's inner robot head is colored by the fact that I do own ROTF Bludgeon with the Headrobots upgrade. If I didn't, I'd probably want a samurai head too.

Also, I didn't realize Impactor is coming with some extra weapons - from Arcee of all places! That's actually really nice.

Yeah, I agree. The fact that I have a voyager & deluxe Bludgeon's with samurai head sculpts makes me less upset with the fact that the Club went this route, this time. I hope they tone down the green on Bludgeon. It looks really out of place in combined mode in my opinion.

I'm also surprised the Club decided to add all of the black panel lines to the top of Impactor's head sculpt. I've seen a lot of people complain about that on MMC's Spartan.

Little surprised those Targetmasters aren't combined. Heck, I only have Scoop thus far, but fiddling with him gives me the impression it's probably even possible to stick all four together. :D

I thought that would've been Menasor? What with the birth-giving hips that clash with the crotchplate when trying to get any good poses if you could prevent him from falling over due to the original run's sketchy nearly nonfunctional ratcheted hips....

...I should probably look into that for mine.

That's differebt, though... They're meant to homage the originals, one of them having a limb that is susceptible to GPS, the other having never been released save the one limb. What I'm getting at is that they could've engineered Menasor better, IMO.

I never did the hip thing with menasor and never will. The cool thing about menasor is you have options on how to pose the thighs. Theres a wide range of add ons you can buy from perfect effect and nonneff that can help turn menasor into a awesome looking display piece. Thunder mayhem however, just has a stupid looking thunderwing head that nobody wanted. No matter what cool add ons you enhance the body with, that stupid head has to go. Maybe renderform can do a run of Bludgon skull heads that look better and would have been what most people wanted. What I would have preferred was no bludgon at all and no mayham attack squad theme. I would have preferred Windsweeper as the torso from the silverbolt mold and a new head. (Both modes work perfect to homage the vintage toy) and I would have liked to see Quake from the brawl mold also with a new head and Crankcase from the Offroad mold with a new head. Impactor was another waste of a figure. We already have an Impactor repaint from Hasbro. We dont need another one. At TFCC prices, one can just spend another 20 bucks and get MMC Spartan which is a much better Impactor anyways. So in essence, a perfect funpub 4.0 set would have consisted of all 3 triggercons and all 3 targetmaster juniors. That would have been so awesome. The whole marvel comics homage and additional funpub fiction ruined what could have been the ultimate G1 homage set for the fans. Who cares about the stupid combiner anyways? Everybody I know is buying the set for the individual bots anyways.

I'd sooner get it for the combiner than for any other reason, but I also see how it fills in a noticeable gap in G1 collections; but I do agree on the Impactor aspect, no matter how you look at it, it isn't a good deal, and you may as well get mmc's if you're going through the secondary market to get the set.

Other than the pink/purple Spinister arm, I think the combiner looks fine. Even then I can easily live with it.

As for Bludgeon... I'm surprised to hear all the discourse. With the popularity of his "shell" we're actually pretty lucky to get a modern taste of his proper bot mode. Besides, putting a samurai skull head on that body would look out of place, whereas the ROTF body is designed entirely around that motif. I look forward to standing the two Bludgeon's right next each other.

I'd just really rather have another, bigger version of Thunderwing rather than another, less exciting-looking Bludgeon of the same size as the previous, good-sized one.

A Thunderwing from the Cyclonus mold would both be a better size than the old small Deluxe one and would work for both is inner robot mode (Cyclonus) and his Pretender shell (Galvatronus).
Re: Production Sample of Thunder Mayhem and Impactor (1752009)

I kind of like the way Bludgeon is. He can be my pre-Stormbringer Bludgeon, while ROTF/Headrobots Bludgeon can be post-Stormbringer.

Plus extending out the chest-plate in vehicle mode you can kinda simulate the "wings" he was flying with in Spotlight: Thundercracker too.

Apart from Spinister (have the Botcon one) I don't have any of the limb bots, so I'm pretty happy to pad out my 'Con army, and being a clmbiner to boot is pretty sweet as I don't have much space to display.

I figured out why we're getting a Bludgeon instead of a Thunderwing: To avoid exclusive overlap. Since Sea Clamp is using the Scattershot mold, they can't use Silverbolt or any of his derivatives for the subscription service lest people complain about them using the mold for two different things. Thus they made Bludgeon out of Onslaught because they didn't want to use the same general mold for two different things, and Bludgeon is the only non-Thunderwing character who both palled around with the mayhems and is big enough to be the torso. Voila! Everything adds up!

Ok... So... TFSS 5.0.

We know it's not all CW molds this time.
We know it's the last time the club will use CW molds.

PLEASE make sure we get CW Quake and Crankcase. That's all I care about. I realize it's too late at this point to change anything, but those two need to be made so that the 4.0 set gets their trios complete.

Optimus looks to be based on the Generation 2 Gobot mold with Armada Optimus's head. Not sure if the Pretender shell is supposed to homage anything in particular (though I'm getting Universe (2003) Optimus Primal/Robots in Disguise (2001) Optimus Prime vibes from him).

Wonder who Quickslinger is based on?

Looks promising so far. The Paradron Medic had to happen at some point. Just a few paint and plastic changes to Arcee is all it takes, no remolding.

I do wonder though......if this is TFSS 5.0...will the TFCC be releasing it? I thought their license wasn't going to be renewed, due to their announcement stating that all memberships would cease to be effective at the end of the year. Or did I read that wrong?

As far as we know, it was always due to continue through 5.0. As for botcon 2017... not sure about that

Well that's what I'm not sure about. TFSS 4.0 is coming out this year (likely after or around Botcon in 2 months), which means 5.0 is next year, 2017. So if they've lost the license, how is 5.0 going to happen? Or does this signal that they'll still be putting Botcon on and just requiring members to sign up every year?
