I still don't get why he simply doesn't have an intact turret on his back like the original did so those arms could go into filling in the gaps in the other modes. It seems like the designers just don't care about filling in the hollow chunks anymore.

I'm still getting him regardless since Lugnut needs his pal.

Way to dash all our hopes and dreams, Hasbro.
I'll still pick him up, only for the sake of Springer having a nemesis (outside of Octane and Astrotrain) and adding another tank to the collection.
I hope and pray to God they get their shit together and fix all those problems.

I removed my BBTS preorder and will not be searching for this figure. I'm really saddened by Hasbro's total lack of quality control and execution of this figure. I can only imagine that Springer will me much worse. A rubber nose cone and misaligned parts all around?...are you kidding me!! Sorry BBTS...maybe I'll save that money for Metroplex.

Whoa now, let's not jump to conclusions/jinx us...
Hopefully Springer will be the silver linings in the proverbial cloud. Hopefully.

Oddly relevant, considering the situation:

The perfection police are out in full force today. What do you want for 22 bucks ? I cant really watch the video since Im at work. But looking at a few clips, it seems you are getting your moneys worth.

Not just the clips at the shoulders. "Tabs" in jet mode do not tab in like they are supposed to, the nosecone is apparently a bitch to transform into either vehicle mode, uneven tank treads, he can barely hold his gun, and possibly more.
But he stands pretty well, and he has RhA's originally-named "dongsword" that he has no trouble wielding, so there's a couple of positives...
baltmatrix wrote:I can confirm that Springer is a MUCH better figure. That video review is uploading as I type this and will go live a little later this evening.
See? Silver lining in the clouds.

Personally, I'm thinking that's a woulda-been-nice-if-they-tabbed-in. While not perfect, I think all three modes are looking fantastic. Thinking with the new info it would be getting an 8/10 instead of a 10.
I appreciate the honest review though. I'll make sure not to be drinking too much coffee when I tackle ole Blitzwing.

Sorry to say but they usually don't. Once the mold is set and the plastics are chosen that's it. All we can hope for is that it'll look better.

Either way, this will look great on the shelf.
I also have a pretty snazzy idea for a custom out of this guy. Makes me wonder if they have any repaints in store with a new head, etc. Overcharge anyone? Shattered Glass?

Overcharge, yes.
Shattered Glass? Possibly, but not for straight-up retail. Try BotCon exclusive.

Personally, I will break out the Xacto knife when I get mine to fix those mishapen pegs, and use my usual methods to stiffen any other loose or tight joints, pegs, etc.
I am still very excited for this guy!

Has SG Blitzwing ever appeared anywhere in fiction?
Glad to hear Springer is better!

I've watched his reviews for years now, and he's the king of mistransformation. I like his reviews.. But sometime he just doesn't get everything quite right, which then skews his opinion of the figure.
I'd like to see what peaugh has to say.

I would suspect as much as well, but you know me: I live in optimism.

Say what you want, but he is a FAR better looking figure than Animated's Voyager. So his jet mode is lacking. That's fine, I need a new tank for my collection anyways.

Oh no, I'm done trying to self fix these guys. I just picked up a second Kickback today because I tried sanding the abdomen tips on the first one so the halves connected better and instead made the whole thing worse.
And I'm actually not that picky when it comes to this stuff but when I hear talk about whole modes being a floppy mess and plastic that fells like it may break any second, I get edgy.
I'm still grabbing him but I hope I'm just assuming the worse based on this review.

Hopefully its just his that doesn't lock in but even it's not I'm getting this figure.
Comparing it to that Animated version doesn't help his case in my book, I hated that line!
The figure looks like it's a C or C+
3.5 out 5 which is still cool in my book.

As an adult, I'm looking at this figure thinking'"Do I want to pay 22 bucks for this with all the problems it seems to have?". But then I think back to when I was a kid playing with my Transformers and realizing how much less I worried about some of the same issues I had back then- the Constructicons not holding up in Devastator mode, the arm to Swoop breaking with nit even a little force being used when pulling it out (giggity), Jazz not being able to stand up straight,....etc,etc- and I wonder why I'm going to have a heart attack over this. I mean, because of these similar issues when i was a kid, it made me take better care of my beloved toys.
Maybe me being leery of buying it is simply because, as an adult, I should be making more sound decisions on my purchases. But then again, it's a toy, so I'm just gonna blow that sound decision out of the water. Is this the best one Hasbro has ever done-no. there are issues, but i'm gonna treat it like the others in my collection- with the utmost care.
Plus, in my opinion, this one is far better than the Animated Blitzwing. I do like the Generations alt modes better than the Animated one. I especially didn't like the way the tracks were so visible in tank mode.......
That was a great review, though. It definitely gave me a heads up on what to expect and where to be most careful.

Watch more of Baltmatrix's videos, then come back. It's rare when he criticizes a figure.
Hopefully its just his that doesn't lock in but even it's not I'm getting this figure.
Then brace for disappointment; Baltmatrix isn't the only one to get a defective unit.

Initially, I would have scored him nine or ten (on a scale of 1-10), but due to the recent reviews, I'm giving him the same scoring.

The picture you are talking about has the figure transformed incorrectly. Those holes need to be facing behind the figure and sadly they have nothing to do with how the arm is connected to the chest.

I'm not too stressed about this review. You can buy 5 of these guys and the odds of them being all the same as far as tight joints and such are really 50/50. Some times toys have some prominent defects/flaws but alot of times it's a figure to figure basis. It's just the nature of mass production. %99.99999 accurate is not %100 accurate. They are only machines.
And not to discredit the reviewer but I think he's just a little intimidated by the plastic. Which is why I quoted YoungPrime above. I was super let down with U Galv. Wonky, floppy arm was horrible.
Well, I was good and drunk about a month ago and was playing with him as I was doing a little shelf re-organizing and I found a spot that arm tabs onto. You just need to put some ass behind it.
Normally i'm also intimidated by the plastic but I was drunk and didn't care. Galvatron is great now. Next time you're playing with him, be a little more assertive in your actions and you should get him to shape up for you.
I'm thinking that this video is an example of that. I'm certainly in no hurry to trash $20+ so I can see how it happens. I've found that my TFs are pretty durable even though some would appear otherwise. I've had a few TF's that I thought just "laid or rested". Eventually I find the spots that line/tighten things up. Now, I'll admit there are some that I've accepted as layers but they seem few and far between. I got my 2 3-piecers on pre-order and can not wait.
Posted by Sodan-1 on April 20th, 2013 @ 2:29am CDT
That being said, so many issues with tabs and pegs not aligning, I have to wonder if there is indeed a bit of mis-transformation in there somewhere. However, that probably wouldn't explain the looseness of the shoulders or the difficulty in locking the nose cone in place.
Uber pass.

What makes you think Metroplex will be much better? He'll have a simpler transformation for sure which will help but he'll probably still have thin, rubbery plastic all over him and some suspect engineering.
Blitzwing basically sums up all of Hasbro's cost cutting, margin raising measures in one craptastic figure. He's been engineered to use the least amount of plastic possible as will most of the future Hasbro/TT releases I fear (looking at you FOC Bruticus and Grimlock). Clearly the days of the great Classics/Generations figures are probably over.

If you don't like it, don't spend your money! Hasbro could be looking at these reactions and decide to cancel all other triple changers we could possibly get in the future because people keep bashing the ones they're providing us. I'm still getting him. His minor problems can be fixed and I know MOST people will probably just display him in robot mode anyways.

If you go to a restaurant and they serve you a meal that is ruined for some reason will you still eat it or will you complain? Feel free to buy it. No one cares. And Hasbro appreaciates. But if you never complain about something you do not like, how will they know your opinion?
We Tansformers collectors and fans deserve more from Hasbro. We should not represent only numbers. If it weren't for us HASBRO would go bankrupt.
I will not fill no ones pockets for a bad quality figure just because they threw it up in the stores
