Thank you hasbro for this awesome figure while we all wait for our beloved movie figure line.

I am at a loss for words on how amazing this is. This blows Defender clear out of the water, in fact, there's no contest. He will make a fine addition to the collection.

Anyone want my FansProject Defender?

I actually sold my Defender because of this one. I'm glad I did. Now, don't get me wrong, the Warbot Defender is a great figure, but I just figured I would rather have Hasbro's Springer. And man, Hasbro surprised me on this one. I figured Blitzwing would be the optimal choice between the two, but I was caught off guard this go around.
Now, maybe FP should tackle Blitzwing...

Yeah beloved. The movie line is what got me started to collect figures and im sure there is thousands of ppl like me who gotipulled into the transformers universe because of the 2007 movie.

Most people outside the fandom watched the movies only for explosions, CGI effects, and sexy chicks. Toy sales (specifically DOTM's) say otherwise.
If, and I say if, there was to be a poll here asking users if they liked the movies, I'd guess that maybe %45-65 would say they enjoyed the movies.
But hey, we all got our starts from somewhere. Armada, back when it first debuted, is what got me hooked, and there are those who scoff at the "Pokeformers".

But am I the only one who wants to take the headlights off? The car just looks too much like a buggy with them to me
Whoever designed this figure needs knighting, made king and then given all the money and resources they need to make more!

Armada? Sorry to say that was the weakest transformers toy line ever but like you said we all have to get our start from somewhere. And the thing about colorful figures like the Armada line is that you can tell its a kids toy from a mile away. But not the movie line. The movie line is truely robots in disguse looking like real 1/30 scale model cars and other vehicals. Plus their robot forms look like robotic aliens. I like alien stuff.

No, no, no, no, capital N-O.
This says otherwise.

Eagleblaster is actually correct. Toy sales doubled, maybe tripled, in 2007 thanks to The movie. I remember seeing a chart about it somewhere, I'll try and find it.
EDIT: I found it and I was wrong. They actually quadrupled. I'm so saving that image to use every time someone says that the movies ruined Transformers forever. DOTM Sales did drop to the levels of TFTM though, but I wouldn't say they sucked.
Many long term fans, however, dislike the movie figure aesthetic as it rails again the clean lines designs that harken all the way back to G1.
Movie fans will continue to love the movie lines, don't be hating on them for wanting more.

Well, we did all love Defender until this came out... Fansproject would be far wiser to make molds Hasbro isn't, hence awesome Stunticons and Combaticons.
Springer is clearly the superior of the two, but I already preordered both and see no reason to back off from that. I've wanted a new Blitzwing long enough I can bear it not having great alt modes. Springer, on the other hand, will cleave away my other three Springers. Better sell those bastards quick.

Thank you for sharing your reviews.. I really wish you still had some of your old reviews up on YouTube.. Like alternators and masterpiece starscream etc. there's something about your voice that brings me back to a time when transformers were starting to take a big step forward in design.
Anyways.. I can't wait to get BOTH blitz and springer. I LOVED springer when I first saw the movie when I was a child. I couldn't care less about blitzwings rotating faces. I wasn't a big fan of it in animated.. And I'm not terribly excited about it on this toy. While there is a G1 face.. I wish they'd spent a little more effort trying to make that face as perfect as possible rather than focusing on two other faces and a gimmick.

After these two... I think hasbro/takara needs to take another stab at astrotrain and octane. Neither of those figures were all that wonderful.. But with technology these days, and upping them to voyager scale, I think they'd turn out much better.

Well, at the time it was already apparent that an even better job could be done at a larger size. Springer just makes it undeniable. I'm all for a new Octane, though, and it isn't as if Astrotrain would be a bad idea either.

Replace green and yellow with black, replace head with a bat head. Bam. Rake the cash in.
