IGN: When last we saw Optimus on Transformers Prime, things weren’t going so well for him, to say the least.

Cullen: Yeah, he had a rough go last season, but I think he gets up on his feet… You wouldn’t have a Season 3 without Prime getting on his feet! But it was a surprise to me too, because I’ve been through that once before in my life many, many years ago. I croaked and didn’t come back for 20-odd years, but that’s not the case with our Season 3 and Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters.

IGN: We know the next feature film is coming. Have you had any conversations about that and Optimus’ role?

Cullen: I just know that I’m going to be part of it and I’m very happy about that and I’m looking forward to getting into production. I think that is sometime in the late spring and for a 2013 premiere. So Michael Bay has an awful lot of time to do his magic.

Wrecked Magazine is reporting a new sponsorship deal between the Transformers franchise and Otto Graven's “Ultimate 86” Formula D team. There's a good possibility this deal could be leading up Transformers 4, which we already know will racing tie-ins. Jack Reynor has been cast as the race car driving love interest for Mark Wahlbert's daughter's character.

In a huge deal, Otto Graven has announced a co-title sponsorship of his “Ultimate 86” as being split between longtime Scion partner Rogue Status and Hasbro’s “Transformers” brand. This is a great new brand coming to Formula D, one that I’m sure many fans have grown up admiring. Rogue Status is upping their sponsorship from a partner level to a co-title sponsorship as well. For a driver who wasn’t in the series last season, this is a HUGE announcement coming through in a season where many drivers are struggling to find sponsorship dollars. Will this help Otto earn his first FD Podium in 2013?

The Hollywood Reporter recently published an interview with Josh Duhamel in which he states he may be making a cameo appearance in Transformers 4. Duhamel portrayed Captain William Lennox in the previous three Transformer live action films. See his statements below:

They're going younger," the 40-year-old actor says -- that doesn't rule out a cameo.

[Michael Bay] said he wants to put me in it someplace," Duhamel told the trade. "I don’t know if he was just saying that because he had me on the phone and he felt obligated or what, but you know what? I got to do three of those. It changed my career, it changed my life getting to be a part of something that big, so I’m grateful for even doing the first three of them.

Visual Effects Supervisor Jeff White who worked on the first Transformers trilogy is returning to work his magic on Transformers 4. In this interview with Collider, he chats about his career at ILM and gets into pre-production of TF4 and his involvement on Transformers: The Ride.

Where do you go from here? What are you working on next?

WHITE: I’m starting pre-production on Transformers 4, which has some really exciting stuff in it. And then, we’ll see what the future holds. Certainly, if the opportunity came to work on the next Avengers, I’d definitely jump at it.

Does it feel the same way with Transformers?

WHITE: Oh, yeah! We thought Transformers 1 was the hardest thing we’d ever done, and then we did Transformers 2. And then, Transformers 3 came and Michael [Bay] came up with this sequence where the building is falling over and they’re inside of it. He said he came up with it while he was doing stomach crunches. But, it’s great! We don’t want to do the work that we’ve done before. We love trying to figure out the problems and create imagery that people haven’t seen before.

You also did that with Transformers: The Ride.

WHITE: Yeah, it’s really fun! I just went on it about a month ago, now that it’s opened in Los Angeles, and it’s nice ‘cause I finally had had a little separation from it. It ended up being about a two-year process to create it. To then go on it with people who had never been involved, everybody screams at the same place. It was a lot of fun. Typically, you’ve got a movie theater screen and, even if it’s 3D, you’re bound by a frame. All of a sudden, we had no borders, so we could do a lot of fun things in 3D with that. The beauty of it is that you sit in a car with 11 other people and you get that immediate feedback. It’s funny, they took us up in the rafters and it’s literally like the car drives in, everybody screams, and then the car drives out, every time. It’s cool to see that it has the desired effect.

Seibertron members Rodimus Prime and ElDuque (our News Admin) have provided us the links to the following articles:

First up, Rodimus Prime's ComingSoon.net find:
Rodimus Prime wrote:
Just one day after Michael Bay himself offered an update on the soon-to-shoot Transformers 4, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura spoke with MTV about the future of the series and dropped hints that Bay's departure from the franchise after the fourth film is far from a done deal.

"I can't speak for Michael," di Bonaventura says, "I would hope he would [stick around]. It would be great. There's certainly something, in our design of this, that's going to be an ongoing story... As long as the audience shows up for us, there's a lot of stories still to be told."

He also spoke about the plans to relaunch the franchise with brand-new characters while maintaining the continuity of the first three films.

"There's a lot of new elements," he says. "I wouldn't say that we completely changed this world and yet it's completely different. There are new characters. There are new situations. I don't think we revisit a single location."

Transformers 4 is set to star Mark Wahlberg and Jack Reynor and will hit theaters on June 27, 2014.

Followed by ElDuque's ComicBookMovie.com's find:

The producer discusses Michael Bay's fourth Transformers movie, commenting on the possibility of it kicking off a new trilogy, revealing that not a single location from the last three films has been revisited, and much more.

Paul Romano - 2/4/2013

Speaking with MTV, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura talks about the next Transformers movie from director Michael Bay, who calls it the first film of a brand new trilogy. When asked about the chances of more Transformers films from Bay, he expresses his hopes to see the helmer continue working on the series and that we'll definitely see more should audiences continue to come in. "Well, I can't speak for Michael. I hope he would. It would be great. But it's certainly something that, in our design of this, it's gonna be an ongoing story. And so, as long as the audience shows up for us, there's a lot of stories to be told." Additionally, he comments on the fourquel's new setting, which he says it's completely different from the last three movies despite being set in the same world. "There's a lot of new elements. I wouldn't say that we've completely changed this world, yet it's completely different. And there are new characters, new situations, I don't think we've revisited a single location. Michael has a really great way of approaching this." Bonaventura then refuses to discuss the possibility of some outer space action scenes ("I would never tell you that if it was true."), and also says that those who enjoyed the first three Transformers will certainly find things to like about this new installment, which begins shooting in May.

Transformers 4 stars Mark Wahlberg and Jack Reynor. The film is set to hit theaters June 27th, 2014.

Forbes.com caught up with Michael Bay via phone to ask him a few questions about his career and Transformers 4. Despite what star Mark Wahlberg has said to the contrary, Bay reiterates that TF4 is not a reboot. You can read the entire interview here. A few excerpts have been pulled for your convenience below.

Forbes wrote:Will that change the way you do anything on Transformers 4?
We’re going to start off smaller. There’s a brand new cast. To freshen the franchise we’ve redesigned everything from top to bottom. The history of the first three movies is still there, we start four years later and there’s a reason why we’re meeting a new cast.

Mark is really excited about it and it’s a great redesign. I said that 3 [which grossed $1.1 billion] was going to be my last one. Paramount was letting me do Pain & Gain and the Transformers ride was opening at Universal and it was bittersweet to think of passing it off. I wanted to set it up on a really sure footing and to bring someone else in on that, it would have been overwhelming.

So is 4 a reboot?

No, that’s wrong. We keep the Transformers the way they were, it’s just four years later. There’s a reason the Transformers are redesigned. We’re trying to broaden the franchise and give it more places to go.

There is also a contest being run by Doritos where two commercials by amateur filmmakers previously chosen will run during the Super Bowl. The filmmaker with the highest ranking commercial according to the USA Today Ad Meter will get a job working with Bay on TF4.

Forbes wrote:Why did you agree to take part in the Doritos contest?
MICHAEL BAY: I got a call from my agent asking if I wanted to do this Doritos thing. It sounded like bullshit to me. I’d seen their commercials at the Super Bowl and I thought they were done by pros. When I found out they were amateurs, I thought it was a great way to help a young filmmaker break into the business.

What will the winner actually get to do on the Transformers 4 set?
Replace me as director. No, we’ll see who the person is and depending on what he is interested in being, a producer or a director, we’ll try to tailor the job. It’s all hard work when you’re working on a movie.

Recently confirmed Transformers 4 actor Jack Reynor spoke briefly to BANG Showbiz while attending the London Critics Circle Film Awards regarding his upcoming role in the next installment of the live action franchise. Reynor will be taking on the role of Wahlberg's daughter's race car driving love interest. Reynor touched on his training, audition process, Mark Wahlberg, and director Michael Bay. Check out his comments below as relayed by ComicBookMovie.com.

On training:
I'm training very intensely at the moment. I'm going to keep that up until we shoot. I'm going to do some different courses, some different things I need to pick up for the film. My character seems to be a race car driver so I'm going to be doing a couple of driving courses and getting out on the track.

On the audition process:
It was after a film I was doing, 'The Delivery Man', with Dreamworks. I went through quite a rigorous audition process out in L.A., and after a certain amount of auditions and meetings with different executives, I managed to pull it off.

On Mark Wahlberg:
I haven't met him before, but I'm really excited. He's one of my favourite actors. I just think he's brilliant. I have a huge amount of respect for him as an actor so I can't wait to get on set with him.

On Michael Bay:
I think Michael Bay has his ideas about it and I'm going to go along with him. He seems to know what he's doing.

As Mark Wahlberg makes the rounds promoting his latest film Broken City he continues to drop small tidbits of Transformers 4 news. In this interview with examiner he mentions that Transformers 4 will be filming between the end of May and September. Not the biggest news, but good to hear things are moving right along.

Will you have to put more weight on for “Transformers 4”?

Wahlberg: Well I took a month off – I just started working out, I’m in my 4th week now – hopefully we’ll do “Avon Man” before “Transformers,” which is this comedy we have at Fox that we’ve been developing; it’s kind of like my first romantic comedy.

Can you tell us anything about “Transformers 4” or “Ted 2”?

Wahlberg: I could tell you that we’re doing “Transformers” starting at the end of May, and then “Ted” in September. You know I can’t give you too many story points or Michael will not be happy. But I can tell you that I’m very excited, obviously I had a great working relationship with Michael on “Pain & Gain”.
