The
Linkin Park website has been slightly updated. It features a moon on which you can click to hear a small modified snippet of Linkin Park's Iridescent which is on their album "A Thousand suns'. An image on the website also features the Autobot symbol in "A Thousand Suns art style". Is this the new Linkin Park Dark Of The Moon Song?
Joe Hahn of Linkin Park has dropped a little hint on his
Twitter account about a new video and asking "Do robots and leather look good together?"
It has been previously reported that "Burning In The Skies" would be the featured song in the third movie. If this is true, then it is an unexpected turn of events.

Could the end of the third party custom era be looming on the horizon? According to
this story on
TFW2005 Japanese retailer Red Mecury has reported receiving a warning from Takara Tomy to stop selling third party custom items on the grounds of copyright and trademark infringement. They have already canceled preorders for the following third party items:
- iGear Kup Head Set
- iGear Bee 01
- Perfect Effect SFX Scouting Force X - Camera Set
- TFC Toys Primary School: Primars
- Head Robots Blood
- Crazy Devy CDMW-16
- Crazy Devy CDMW-17
As you can see the items on the list run the gamut from small add-ons, like iGear's Kup01, to full blown original design characters, like TFC's Primars.
Ironic that this news comes across on the very day that we launch our
first look galleries at FansProject's Warcry and Flameblast. For the moment it appears this ban is only affecting the Japanese market, and those of you who have these items preordered at retailers based in the US or countries outside of Japan are safe. Stayed tuned, we'll keep you posted as this story develops.
What changed? Did the market just get too big to be ignored? Did high profile items like iGear's conehead Seekers draw a little too much attention? Be sure to share you're thoughts of this sure to be controversial decision
here!

Director Michael Bay recently dropped by his own
Shoot for the Edit forums and chimed in on a discussion about the possible identity of the silver Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Some fans have speculated this may be Soundwave's earth mode based on clues from the game trailers and comics. This is what he had to say:

As you can see Bay indicates the Mercedes isn't a Transformer at all, but just a regular car driven by Carly.

nelson then had this to say on the matter:

Where in the world is Reveal The Shield
Windcharger? If you live in Canada or the United Kingdom, then you already know the answer to this question. If you live in the United States or anywhere else with a shortage of the aforementioned bot, then you know the frustration this question has brought to many collectors. The latest RTS Scout assortment has been spotted all over Canada and the U.K.
Why haven't we seen hide nor hair of these figures in the U.S.? The answer to this question is purely speculation at this point. There are rumors that Hasbro has decided to cancel the scout assortment in the U.S. There could be many possible reasons why Hasbro would choose to do this if it is true. One reason might be that over seas currencies are doing better than the U.S. Dollar. Other companies have done this before. Here are a couple of interesting articles about this practice.
http://www.wiiblog.net/struggling-us-dollar-effects-wii-fit-release-805/
The other aspect of the shortage sounds more believable than the first. The US economy has been struggling for the past few months. We’ve seen food and gas prices rise as the dollar has lost its’ power. The euro has actually become more valuable than the dollar, and for this reason accounts for some of the shortage. It’s been estimated that Europe received over 2 million Wii Fit units, while America only received 500,000.
Here is a quote from Michael Pachter, a professional analyst, “The shortage demonstrates one consequence of the weak dollar. We’re seeing companies ignore their largest market simply because they can make a greater profit elsewhere”
When it comes down to any business, it’s all about maximizing your profit. I don’t blame Nintendo for increasing units to Europe, nor do I hold any ill-will towards the decision. For people who are left wanting a Wii Fit, should just blame the shortage to bad economical timing. The dollar will eventually strengthen, barring any un-forseen disaster. Hopefully the next shipment of Wii Fits will see a stronger dollar, therefore a better ratio for Wii Fit units shipped.
http://www.vgzero.com/thread-15007-post-291648.html
According to Victor Godinez of dallasnews.com, the real culprit behind the shortage of Wii consoles in the Americas is the weak US Dollar. With realistic fears of an economic recession looming in the USA, Nintendo are currently making much higher profits from selling Wii in Europe. In the last year, the value of €1 (Euro Currency) has rocketed from $1.35 all the way to $1.51.
In an interview with GameStop analyst Michael Pachter, Godinez asked how an economic slowdown might affect the availability of the Wii. Pachter claims that Nintendo are behaving "perfectly rationally" in their marketing strategy, that is, sending extra numbers of Wii consoles to Europe in order to "satisfy the more profitable consumers there". But as the demand for Nintendo products in Europe is now reaching a plateau stage, surplus systems should find themselves steadily filtering into the American market.
An explanation on the source website explains all these economics rather well:
With a weak dollar, foreign companies that sell their goods in the U.S. for dollars and then convert those dollars to their native currencies get a smaller profit than if they sell their products in countries with strong currencies of their own (such as Europe with the Euro). In other words, Nintendo makes a bigger profit on Wiis sold in Europe than on Wiis sold in the U.S.
It is a reasonable assumption that Nintendo may be waiting furthermore for the US Dollar to stabilize itself once again; which may just happen as European demand for Wii starts its levelling-out phase. Opinions as always in the forum.
Also in the same predicament are the RTS G1 legends assortment. Whether or not these will hit the shelves in the U.S. is up for debate. This is the exact same mix of ingredients that happened to the Transformers Universe G1 legends assortment the came out before the first Transformers movie in 2006. Many collectors reported never seeing them at retail. Will this happen again?
This is purely speculation based on the availble facts.

Most probably consider it to be a foregone conclusion that Linkin Park will be featured on the Transformers DOTM soundtrack, but it's still yet to be officially confirmed. It's been
rumored that "Burning in the Skies" off their album "A Thousand Suns" has been selected for the film, and band members Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda have both dropped hints about their involvement in interviews. Paramount UK recently updated their
Official Transformers DOTM facebook page with the following post:

Love 'em or hate 'em it's looking like they will be back for DOTM.

Take this with a healthy dose of salt, but here's the latest information on the next
Transformers DOTM trailer. First off the
British Board of Film Classification has listed the rating and time of the next trailer. They got some of their information wrong, as they list the director as Ivan Reitman, and have the film starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher! That part can obviously be disregarded, but the rating and time should be accurate. They rate the trailer as
PG and have it clocking in at
2 minutes 18 seconds.
On to the second part.
nelson, the site admin for director
Michael Bay's Shoot for the Edit forums,
chimed in on a topic about the BBFC information listed above. According to him the next trailer will not debut until mid to late April, which would debunk the
previous list of potential trailer and TV spot dates that popped up last month. It tied the next trailer with
Sucker Punch, which opens this Friday March 25th.

Combine it all and it looks like we will be getting a PG rated 2 minute 18 second trailer in mid to late April. If you believe Bay's right hand man nelson and a site that listed Transformers DOTM director as Ivan Reitman that is.
