With the Transformers: Studio Series line just around the corner, with new teases every week that will hopefully soon lead up to the official reveal, we bring to you news that the line may be even closer than we think. Despite not being officially revealed yet, with only fuzzy images showing us boxes and some fuzzy display images, Walmart has listed 2 of the Studio Series figures on its website, though both are minus any images.

What's interesting about the listings is the use of Starscream's actual name for his listing, but the other listing is for a character named, or codenamed, Radar, suggesting some of the figures may be using codenames, just like in the recent The Last Knight toyline. Who "Radar" refers to is unknown at this time, but we are hoping the official reveals are just around the corner!

We have a new clip featuring an interview with the main character in the upcoming Bumblebee: The Movie, the first spin-off of the live-action Paramount Transformers movie universe, or rather, the actor interpreting her - Hailee Steinfeld - as she currently promotes Pitch Perfect 3. In the video, which you can see embedded below from Yahoo! Movies, Steinfeld talks about Charlie Watson, her relationship with the other members of the cast and crew - especially director Travis Knight.

She also mentions how much she enjoyed working with the director, and the challenge of working with characters that are not present on the screen pre-production, and the influence of the music of the 1980s - as seen in the first image shared by her featuring Motorhead, plus the thrill of being the first to share the first image from the set way back when. Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Bacem, we now have more images of the Studio Series line to go with the ones we previously saw for Leader Blackout and others. These images all come from the same event held in China a month ago but they are being released at a snail's pace from the usual weibo users. These images show us the best look so far at voyager Optimus Prime along with more of voyager Starscream and our very first look at deluxe Ratchet and deluxe Crowbar in robot mode. Crowbar was part of the list of toys included in this line, which you can see here, and seems to be a slight retool of Decepticon Berserker. We included an image below for comparison.

All these toys are scheduled for 2018 and should be at the same price points we saw in the Transformers: The Last Knight toyline.

Tsutaya video rental retail chain in Japan is hosting a cross-promotion contest with TakaraTomy regarding figures from the fifth Transformers film, The Last Knight. The contest runs from December 13th, 2017 until January 8th, 2018 and is open for residents of Japan.

The instructions are simple enough, all one has to do is to rent the movie from Tsutaya's chain of stores and From there the entrant must answer a brief questionnaire to be entered. From there you will stand a chance to win (A) TLK-15 Calibur Optimus Prime, (B) TLK-19 Megatron or (C) RC Autobot Sqweeks. It's pretty simple, best of luck to our Japanese fans in entering the contest! More information can be found on Tsutaya's page regarding the contest.

Some more images have surfaced from Toysoul 2017, the event currently taking place in Hong Kong, showcasing a number of licensed Transformers products, and hosting companies such as Flame Toys and Super Fans Group. The latter, in fact, which we covered recently by showing their wall decoration Megatron, in his Transformers: The Last Knight design, also seem to have a whole line planned of statues in the same concept.

The images below, which are mirrored from Weibo user 小白哥乌拉诺斯, appear to feature Autobots Optimus Prime, Hound, and Bumblebee alongside the Decepticon leader too, all in their latest live-action movie designs, plus a special promotion for the Megatron one exclusive to the show. Much like the previous stories covering the Transformers Studio Series - a new line of new issues of toys from the live-action movie series from Paramount - we have some slightly erased images about a figure we had yet to encounter in our coverage so far: Autobot leader Optimus Prime, and a better look at Decepticon second in command and number 6 in the series, Starscream!

Joining the likes of Blackout, Megatron, Brawl in the Decepticon line of of toys, Starscream is shown in the packaged images below, though we get no real look at the figure at all other than some box art, plus a look at the 5th figure in the same line being Autobot Leader Optimus Prime, and a new shot of Brawl's packaging (number 12 in the line), with the figure completely erased from view. Ever since 2007, when Hasbro changed the style of the Autobot and Decepticon logos for the live action films, these slightly different symbols have been found on non movie toys, like certain versions of Masterpiece Skywarp, which can be seen below.
More than that, it seems both symbols are used interchangeably at times in the assembly line when it comes to tampographs. As can be seen in the image of Generations Payload, one has the G1 autobot insignia (with larger eyes) while the other has the movie version of the insignia. This difference creates variants in the market.
We now have a new victim in the Power of the Primes line with legends Slash. Even amongst toys found in the very same case, Slash has been found with both a G1 and Movie version of the autobot insignia. There are images below to show the comparison. From in hand images of the figure found online, it seems the version with the movie insignia is the rarer of the two.
It is currently unknown if Slash is the only one to have insignia variants such as these in Power of the Primes so check our toys and get back to us if you see that yours is using the wrong insignia.

As we have seemingly be writing about forever, today was the release date for the home releases of Transformers: The Last Knight - the fifth live-action movie from Paramount and Michael Bay - in Japan, where it's know as the The Last Knight King (or King of Knights, though nothing to do with Saber). We covered a while ago the 7 Eleven exclusive accompanying figure with the Blu-Ray edition of the movie, too, a clear plastic Optimus Prime, which uses the Voyager Premier edition of the character.

Thanks to regular suspects on social media, aka Japanese toy bloggers tagoal, Alfes 2010, singgg4 and yokozana, we have some in-hand, in-package, and posed images of the toy, too! DigitalSpy just recently shared a brief interview with John Cena while he was promoting his new Ferdinand movie. Ferdinand would be the new animated movie about a cartoon Bull that Cena plays the title character in. Cena discusses what we have come to know about the Bumblebee film. He did confirm that the film is set in the 80's where Bumblebee establishes a friendship with a teenage girl (Hailee Steinfeld) and eventually that runs afoul of a Sector Seven agent, played by Cena who has been rumoured to be playing the Sector Seven Agent role since he was initially announced he had joined the cast of the Bumblebee spin-off.

"It's a bit of a different role," the Ferdinand star and WWE legend told Digital Spy. "I don't wanna confirm a Cena heel-turn, because it's not a full-blown deal like that, but it's damn sure close!" Cena describing the film as "a wonderful reboot of the franchise". Cena added that "It was awesome to be involved with that franchise, and a pleasure to be asked to be part of the movie, but I took the part because it was a challenge for me," he reiterated. "It's something that I haven't been able to showcase, and that I wanted to."

The Bumblebee spin-off film is coming to theaters December 21, 2018. Be sure to mark your calendars if you are interested in it!

By way of online media and entertainment magazine IGN, we have an interview with the lead character and actor for the upcoming Bumblebee: The Movie - the prequel to the live-action series from Paramount featuring the Transformers, set in the 1980s and the first directed and written by an entirely different creative team (Travis Knight and Christina Hodson, respectively) - and her experience with the production and shooting, the latter of which has concluded.

While perhaps the most notable snippet from the piece, which you can read in full here, is a hint at this being a whole new franchise (read: series of movies, probably trilogy), there are some interesting nuggets throughout about both Steinfeld and director Travis Knight, some of which are copied below!

“It's very character-driven and storyline-driven, which is good. I think will be interesting to see it play out because you still get the action and the Transformers themselves. There's a whole lot in it for the Transformers fans that I think they'll love, but it's definitely about storyline and characters.”

“It was definitely a process. With his background in animation, he was able to see, visually, a final product. It was nice to have somebody that could verbally translate what that was. But it was difficult. It was hard, I think, for both of us to sort of maneuver,” she explained. “Not only was this something completely new to me but it was something completely new to him and a different, you know, a different way. It was definitely a work in progress but I think we got a good thing going and hopefully, we'll see what happens.”
