Simba Dickie will be showcasing their products based on the upcoming Bumblebee Movie, at the Hong Kong Toys And Games Fair 2018. For those of you unfarmiliar with the company, Simba Dickie is one of the world leaders in making die cast and remote controlled toys. They have also done some really great work with Transformers.
We already know have acquired the rights for the new Bumblebee movie meaning that this convention may be our first look at possible new characters for the film. So far the only details we know about the new toyline are: Radio Controlled Vehicles, Light-up Vehicles and Die-Cast Vehicles. We will be sure to keep our optics open to bring you the latest as soon as possible. The Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair will be held January 8th to January 12th at the Hong Kong Convention And Exhibition Center.
Good news South American fans! Via Facebook group Transformers Chile, we have images of new sightings of some Transformers: The Last Knight figures which have had a troublesome history at States retail: Turbo Changer Knight Armor Hound and the Autobot Unite exclusive (but not really) Legion class Hot Rod, along with Legion Crosshairs and Drift.
The bulky (geddit) simplified toy rang up at 19990 Chilean pesos (approx 30.5 USD) while the smaller ones 5990 (9 USD), and Heht Rehd a slightly higher price of 6990 (10 USD). The former three were all found at Falabella de Paseo Puente, in Santiago Centro, whereas Hurht Rohrd was spotted in the Supermercado Líder de General Velasquez (Santiago Central Station). We bring you today of piece of entirely non-news which will somehow turn out to be news, as it involves the Paramount live-action Transformers movie series and its director (so far) Michael Bay, who's been quiet about what might happen after Transformers: The Last Knight, and whether it actually was his last project on the franchise. Commenting very briefly on a question on Instagram from TFnerd, the director mentioned that the series will indeed take 'a new direction', though we have no idea as to what that refers.
We do know that the Bumblebee Movie will feature a new writer and director team, as well as reimagined setting and some designs, and we have heard rumours and speculation about the sixth movie in the main series, but nothing concrete just yet. Check out the entirely inconsequential non-exchange below, and let us know what might be in the future of the series!
So here we have the latest movies from two very divisive franchises. The #DCEU and the #TFCU. Justice League and Transformers The Last Knight. Both movies that got negative reviews and failed at the Box Office. But both movies that I enjoyed. I think I have a tendency for liking movies that get critically destroyed.
Even if you look at the movies that came before these, Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice and Transformers Age Of Extinction. Both got critically destroyed but I enjoyed both of them! In my opinion the DCEU and the TFCU are a bit similar since they both get so much hate and are now at a place where they have to rethink their whole plan on how they want to move forward. One thing I love about the DC films is that they are made with love and passion from everyone involved.
I mean ask @henrycavill if he loves being apart of the DC universe and ask @markwahlberg if he loves being apart of the TF universe. I don't want to hate on TF but let's face it. The people that are involved with the movies don't love TF as much as we do. I really hope they can bring people in who really care and love this franchise and I absolutely don't want to be disrespectful towards @michaelbay and if you know me then you'll know that I'm a huge fan of his work! It may have come unnoticed, but adventure kits have been popping up for Transformers: The Last Knight. These kits are for kids to use outdoors and includes a flashlight, binoculars and a telescope. These are all covered in art featuring the movie characters, especially Sqweeks. This kit is also available online at Toysrus.ca for $19.99 CAD for those interested.
Speaking of Sqweeks, his AllSpark Tech toy was also found in Canada. This is a starter kit like the two Optimus releases. However, and this is a point some may not know, this toy does not transform. This is unlike every other toy in this line which does have a simple transformation. This does make him more movie accurate, of course.
These toys were found in Montreal, Canada, at Toysrus.
With the leak of Studio Series Leader Blackout earlier today, it seems every other image online is coming out of the woodwork. We have an image of Leader Blackout that is the uncropped shot we saw before taken in Shanghai. We then have other images we saw before but clearer. It is the images of voyager Megatron and Brawl but as per the usual case with leaks, the images are still obscured. This time by a black marker (yay). We also get some promotional images for this line.
We learn of the steps for Brawl and Megatron as well. Megatron will be 32 steps while Brawl will be 36 steps.All of these coming from the usual weibo source.For a complete list of all the other toys part o the Transformers Studio Series line, you can click here.
In our coverage of the events from Tokyo Comic Con 2017, we included images of the main stage with the Takara Tomy promotional celebration of Transformers: The Last Knight, with its home release hitting Japanese retail next week - as you can see here, the stage hosted both comedian Junichi Davidson (wearing the G1 art t-shirt) and music artist Okazaki Taiiku / Physical Education.
The latter was apparently involved in launching his latest single, a collaboration between the artist and the Transformers franchise, titled Emblem. This is not the first song connected to the movie, as Torches received both the Chinese release treatment with a cover by Zhang Jie and the original version in the trailer from X Ambassadors, as well as Steve Jablonsky and Celldweller working on the score. The track, which you can find on iTunes here, or check out a sample below, is closer to the style of the latter as you'll see - give it a listen!
Coming from Weibo, we have what many fans have long been waiting for, a clear image of leader Blackout. We have known of this toy for a while and for a complete list of all the other toys part of the Transformers Studio Series line, you can click here. This is the image of the back of his box which not only gives us an image of Blackout in his robot mode and alt mode but plenty of other details too. We see the Scorponok figure he comes with (again) along with the amount of transformation steps, which is 46. This is odd since previous reports said he was on the simple side and he is not devoid of kibble, with his feet showing obvious alt mode panels. We should also remember that The Last Knight Leader Megatron was said to be 30 steps, and while that may be accurate, he was not overly complex.
We also have a very brief bio which says that Decepticon Blackout shocks human defenses with unstoppable force.
Furio Tedeschi has posted a gallery of concept art on his website. The characters featured in his work are Optimus Primal, Sqweeks, Quintessa and HotRod. It is interesting to see how some of these characters differ from their looks in the movie. Most notibly Hotrod being called Sidekick (Probably a pre-production name) and being colored black or green when we know he looks completely different in the movie.
There are also some nice pieces to help build the world these characters live in such as the knights and statues. You can tell by looking over the pictures in this set how well all of these things create an environment that feels truly epic. One of the coolest features in the gallery is the up close look at all of the detailed swords in the movie, including Excalibur.

We have some sweet MPM 05 Transformers Movie Masterpiece Barricade news to share with you. Bruce Dong, a Transformers fan, has posted a video of him unpacking Masterpiece Barricade as well as transforming him from car to robot and then back to car again. The video is on Facebook but can be viewed below.
Here we learn a few tidbits that were previously unknown. Firstly, unlike with the similarly scaled Human Alliance version, the saw blade is not integrated within the toy. It is a separate piece that must be attached, in a very similar fashion to Masterpiece Hot Rodimus' saw blade weapon. The toy also comes with a clear stand for the weapon. Also, the weapon does not freely spin. It can rotate but only as long as you are pushing it.
The transformation does not seem as complex as MPM Optimus Prime and seems more akin in complexity to the Human Alliance version.

We had reported on Takara Tomy's presence at Tokyo Comic Con 2017, and their Transformers promotion for The Last Knight's home release (due in Japan on 13th December) back here - and we now have some extra images from the event that took place on the main stage!
The event took place at the Main Stage area and featured a guest performance by musician/comedian Junichi Davidson, along with some toy showing off, what looks like some singing and a transformation contest (perhaps), according to Japanese movie news website eiga.com. Snuck in with all the promotion, Takara also showed off a Gold Version of the Optimus Prime figure from the movie's toyline, to accompany the likes of the Golden Vector Shield and the Clear Voyager Optimus available in the country with the BluRay released of the film.
