A couple of new
Transformers Movie pictures from SEIBERTRON.com member Joey Germani. If I can make out the characters correctly in this diagram of a film-shoot setup, I believe the
Transformers are as follows from top left to bottom right: Megatron, Frenzy (look by Megatron's left left), Starscream (it looks like there are 3 Transformers behind him on your left - look for the white stands that these prop pieces are on), Ratchet (to the right of Starscream next to the building ... though I'm not 100% sure), Bonecrusher (??? - bottom left corner), Bumblebee and Jazz. If I have any of this information incorrect, please post in this thread what it should be and I'll update the news story. Enjoy!
You can click on the images below to view the full size images that are 1280 x 1024.

Shinobi Rendar of the
Energon Pub has posted the following images from the set of the
Transformers Movie, including a picture of Jazz in car mode and what could be our first look at Bumblebees face. Please bear in mind that this is just a set prop and close ups of his face will probably be computer generated.
A video of vehicles moving on the set including Bumblebee and Ironhide can also be seen
here at Putfile.com.

This past weekend, many of the major movie websites were out in L.A. on the set of the
Transformers movie. I'm writing this news article blind because I still don't have access to the site since it hasn't resolved yet with SBC/AT&T on the new server. I have access to my design site still and access to the live database. Please bear with me if it's not formatted correctly.
LatinoReview stated that the scene of the movie that they saw filmed this weekend was "... part of the conclusion of the film when all threads of the story converge onto the city streets of downtown Los Angeles. Shia, Megan, Josh and Tyrese share this scene and without giving anything away will have the audience at the edge of their seat."
IGN.com stated that "The scene being filmed was one near the end of the movie as the battle between Autobots and Decepticons rages in the streets of Los Angeles. The specific shots we saw were of mayhem and terror - extras running through smoke, the military folk reacting to the carnage, and the Autobots - in vehicle form - ostensibly getting in position for combat.
Michael Bay informed LatinoReview.com about how a few of our favorite Transformers measure up:
Jazz : 13 feet tall
Bumblebee: 17 feet tall
Ratchet: 24 feet tall
Iron Hide: 26 feet tall
Optimus Prime: 28 feet tall
Megatron: 34 feet tall
Jazz is indeed the
Pontiac Solstice, which is no surprise since
Chevrolet (Camaro - Bumblebee),
GMC (GMC 4x4 Truck - Ironhide) and
Hummer (H2/H3? - Ratchet) are already represented in the predominantly
General Motors lineup per their agreement with Dreamworks.
According to
MovieBlog.com, the producers stated that Hasbro had the final say on all character designs. That should hopefully be some good news for fans who were disappointed with the leaked images of the various Transformers. None of the producers seemed to be concerned about the negative fan reaction. One Producer summed up his feelings like this: "It's like a child who throws a tantrum because he thinks he's getting something he won't like on Christmas ... but I'm the parent who knows that when they open that box they're going to be blown away". Or like the Christmas where my Dad got me knock off He-Man toys instead of the real thing because he thought they looked the same.
We've been a little hard on Don Murphy. Sometimes he deserves it ... but he is one of the original people who shopped the idea of a Transformers movie back around 2002. Love him or hate him, we wouldn't be where we are today if it wasn't for Mr. Murphy.
Josh Duhamel: "Make no mistake, this is the Robot's movie... not ours".
Michael Bay stated Transformers will be "pretty edgy for a family film" and will be PG-13.
Producers talked about "story structure, Transformers designs, key elements from the series that must be preserved, and whether there are already sequel plans."
Don Murphy stated that they are definitely looking into getting Frank Welker to voice Megatron.
Furbys will be sacrificed in this movie.
Full trailer to hit theatres this upcoming holiday season between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Film is seeking permission to be 1st movie to film the exterior of the Pentagon since 9/11. The movie will also shoot in various cities, including L.A., Chicago, Detroit and Washington." (though this is the first we've heard of these other cities)
SciFi.com: "The film will feature a top-secret military unit called Sector 7."
SciFi.com: Spike's Grandfather plays a key part in the beginning of the story.

News and rumors about the upcoming
Transformers Movie have been circulating around the internet. That latest rumor was reported by Decepticon4Life of
TFW2005. This rumor is about the design of the character Jazz. Here is what was reported:
"Grey Body.
Visor over eyes.
Claw like fingers.
Body is similar in design to Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in that it has exposed gears, similar feet.
Pontiac Solstice?
Front end of the car becomes his chest."

Well fans, we've apparently hit a nerve with Mr. Murphy. Gotta love the Internet. There really isn't much news in his post today but it does confirm a few things. You can find his original post at
http://www.d13satellite.com/donmurphy/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13292
Here's what he had to say today:
Happy Accidents (A Random Sunday Posting)
Hey there Stooges---
There’s a lot of good stuff to tell you about showing SHOOT-EM-UP to the studio and them loving it… about another project that looks like it will happen… about something I so desperately wanted to do in 2002 but got wronged by a friend, and now the karma turns. Like I say there is a lot of good stuff to tell you.
But let’s talk Transformers shall we? There has been a lot of leaks of photos, scripts, tidbits both true and false. Roberto and Alex spoke on a webcast this week. Lots of things coming out which are costing people their jobs. Good stuff, bad stuff.
But you know what? You haven’t actually SEEN a damn thing yet.
Now the negative ninnies out there, the people like Bowspearer who just live in a cesspool of hatred, will say “We’ve seen enough. This isn’t my Transformers.” To those people who are so old school and stuck in their ways I say the following- Go away. Seriously. We don’t need you here. You hate and you haven’t SEEN a damn thing yet.
Oh sure, Prime doesn’t look EXACTLY like he did in the cartoon. The Autobots are only five. The Decepticons don’t have Soundwave. There are complaints out the wazoo. Well you know what?
I have complaints too. There are things I wanted in this film which are not going to be in there. But I know what some of you know- filmmaking is not a democracy. Hell, Adam Goodman is in charge of production at Dreamworks. He’s the guy who BOUGHT this film. He is working day and night to get this ready for July 07. There are things I know he wishes were in the film. But they aren’t. You’ve talked online here to Brian Goldner. He owns the property but everything is not EXACTLY as he wishes. Tom Desanto is the most devoted producer out there- I know there are things he wishes were in there. You saw that Alex and Bob didn’t get everything they wanted. And Michael Bay, who spends 16 hour days shooting this mega-film? Michael Bay who sets up every shot himself and oversees to the point of operating the camera at times? He’s made a zillion compromises to get a great film he can be happy with.
No, filmmaking is a series of happy accidents. When Tom and I shopped this project around every studio passed, including Dreamworks and Paramount. When those two studios and others came around, we ended up with Dreamworks because Steven Spielberg and Adam Goodman (and creative VPS John Fox and Marc Haimes) knew that this was a BIG cool idea for a franchise. Hell, those guys wanted it in cinemas THIS summer. It’s now 07 because everyone wants to get it right. No one is trying to make anything but a great film here.
When I say you haven’t SEEN anything, think about it. You’ve seen a toy mold. A truck still. A Bumblebee model with a guy underneath it.
You haven’t SEEN Bumblebee transform. You haven’t SEEN Optimus walk or Megatron awaken. You’ve seen sketches, designs and stills. Most of you get it when Brian Goldner says “We are doing something here that has never been done.” He’s right. The technology is there to make a LIVE ACTION Transformers film. To make several of them. But this is not a cartoon. There are cartoons already. Hasbro is making more. This is something new and different. LIVE ACTION robots.
So you negative ninnies- I’d like you to give us a break. And if you don’t, I’d like you to go away for a while. Seriously. Come back in six months. Wait until you SEE something that Michael and ILM and all of us have done. Not some leaked bullshit from some coward. Wait till you SEE the magic that I believe will be Transformers the Live Action Movie. Then if you don’t like what you see, hate away. Till then, I challenge you to be a grown up and reserve judgment. Even the majority who seem to like what you see have a right to hate later on.
We’re trying to do this right- to appeal to the fans and the rest of the world. Cullen is hired. Welker is going through the process. Other things are being reviewed and considered.
There will always be someone who wants to hate. That’s so easy.
But I challenge the haters to wait until they SEE a Transformer in Live Action.
And the rest of you, most of you, thanks for the many suggestions and kind words. It continues to be a surprising and fun ride.
Hang Tight Stooges, Hang Tight.

Thanks to Reximus Prime for letting us know that Nelson on Michael Bay's website posted a new update last night at
http://michaelbay.com/blog/files/7f6231b3b5f5d881ea253b3069aa72ba-34.html
Here's the text from the above link:
Transformer tidbits from Michael Bay
08/18/06 07:47 PM | Permalink
Nelson here...
I just barely caught Michael in between takes. Among the things he mentioned:
- They will be releasing more teaser posters in the coming months.
- Paramount made studies and concluded that the TF "ANNOUNCEMENT" was the 2nd highest rated "teaser" this summer.
- They just finished shooting a lot of Pentagon interiors on a soundstage in scenes that involved many Chiefs of staff in their huge war room.
- Shia just was recently suspended over the edge of a 20 story building in a very dynamic and intense scene.
- The average transformation time from normal mode to alt mode and vice versa is about 3 to 4 seconds.
- The leaked pictures are legit (although a somewhat early rendering).
- Filming of massive chase scenes will begin in the following weeks.
- The CGI transformations by ILM are looking wicked and nastier every single day.
- Part 1 will be about why the transformers came to earth.
- This movie will be a new start for the live action franchise that will not be based on any particular TF TV series and/or comic book.
And last but certainly not least, the Autobots are:
Optimus Prime: idealistic view of humanity.
Bumblebee: underdog, spy, most "connected" to humans
Jazz: style, loyal, eager, contemporary
Ratchet: new form, medical officer, science officer. Emergency vehicle.
Ironhide: tough, tough stare, first in battle, classic cowboy, gritty. Optimus' oldest friend.
Decepticons are:
Megatron: survival of the fittest, social darwinism, less idealistic view of humanity. Sees himself as advanced, sees humans as lower.
Starscream: seems faithful but plotting, "we will see a lot of that dynamic," explains why he does not push it, waits for his opportunity.
Brawl: eager for battle, jumps in. From non-G1 character, experimental, but will be in sequels. First disguised non-flyer.
Bonecrusher: closest to constructicon but not giving away mode. Hates other cons except Megatron. Doesn't want friends.
Barricade: scout, hunter, lures into trap.
Scorponok: closest to Beast Wars, fitted to environment.
Frenzy: "had some evolution for us," started off as Soundwave but had contradictions and changed to stay truer to G1. Smaller, able to infiltrate. Stealth spy, can hide anywhere.
Blackout: comes in, takes out fighting ability, sends EMP, first-tier attack, transporter, biggest vehicle.
