Empire magazine had a poll asking its reader to create the defining list of 100 best movie characters in all cinema history. While Transformers started out (and is still) as a presence on the television, it seems they are now a true staple of cinema since Optimus Prime (the movie version, mind you) was chosen as the
98th greatest movie character of all time. On the list, he beats out Edna Mode from the Incredibles and Randle McMurphy from One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. He also technically beats every single movie character ever except for 97 of them.

xRotorstormx, we get a look at the recently released (exclusively at Toys'R'Us Japan) Black Knight Optimus Prime from the Movie Advanced line. The figure, which you see below, is a redeco of the Armor Knight retool of
Leader class Optimus Prime from the fourth live-action film, including the slightly different weapons and the faceplate feature.

Taking a page from how a TV show is run, Paramount assembled a big group of experienced writers to help chart out the future of the Transformers film series, under the guidance of Akiva Goldsman, as the studio looks to build more of an expanded Transformers movie universe. I asked DeKnight what the experience was like taking that TV dynamic and using it in film, and he had an enthusiastic reply.
“It's that wonderful thing where features are now taking a page from television and getting people together to really try and plan things out. It was a wonderful experience. Akiva Goldsman was fantastic and Jeff Pinkner, who's co-writing the fifth [Transformers] movie with him was phenomenal. Zak Penn... It was just a room full of brilliant, funny, amazing people. And we spent two and a half weeks in physically the best writers room I've ever seen in my life. Paramount pulled out all the stops. It was phenomenal! We laughed and joked and told stories and plotted out...”

Coming from
Variety magazine, we report the news of another acting professional with ties to the Transformers franchise to pass away this year. Actor George Coe, a man whose credits list is truly impressive, from Star Trek to Bones to Gilmore Girls to The West Wing, via Archer and the voice of Que/Wheeljack in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, was 86 and struggling with health.
The staff of Seibertron.com offer their most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
He voiced the character of Woodhouse in the FX animated series “Archer” and the Autobot Wheeljack in Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.”
The Hollywood Division of SAG awarded Coe with the Ralph Morgan Award for service to the guild in 2009.
“It is with heavy hearts that our SAG-AFTRA family says goodbye to George Coe,” said SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard. “He was a stalwart unionist and a tremendous presence in our union for many years. He served his fellow actors and the labor movement with conviction and pride. Our deepest condolences go out to his family.”

An
interview between Mark Wahlberg and Collider's Christina Radish, for the upcoming Ted 2 movie, adds to the
previous rumblings that Michael Bay will return as the director to the 5th installment of the Transformers series.
It's a short quote which went like this:
Collider: Do you have any update on the status of Transformers 5? Have you heard anything about what’s going on?
WAHLBERG: I don’t. Just that Akiva [Goldsman] and those guys are starting to write and break stories, and stuff like that. But [Michael] Bay is in Malta shooting Benghazi, and I’m in New Orleans shooting Deepwater. We’ll get together when he gets back.
Do you think he'll still ultimately direct it?
WAHLBERG: Yes.
